App works great, but Watch app is unreliable
4 stars for iPhone app, but 2 stars because of the the Watch app because that’s my primary use case.
The iPhone app is great! Works exactly as I need it to. Many useful features. However, I’m very disappointed in the reliability of the Watch app. It needs to reauthenticate you by having you open your iPhone app extremely too often. I have a cellular Apple Watch that I wear to go out running, and I hope when I get back I can open the door. Sadly, I can’t rely on this app for that. The Watch app constantly tells me to open the iPhone app to reauthenticate at least once every day. It’s extremely unreliable. I’m constantly having to go get my phone to let it reauthenticate my watch login. The developers really need to handle this differently. Why even have a watch app if it won’t work independently of the iPhone? Absurd and frustrating!
However, the IPhone app works great when you need to open the garage door when you don’t have a remote with you. I often go outside then need something unexpected from the garage and use the app. It’s also great when you want to sit out on the porch but get locked out because someone accidentally locked the door. (But I remind everyone that if the WiFi goes out, your garage door won’t be online to connect with the app, even if the opener had the battery backup installed.)

Terrible
Don’t buy a myQ chamberlain garage opener. It’s cloud based and very slow to respond. The app is poorly thought out for sharing with family members. They’ve deliberately disabled integration with home assistant purely so they can charge you for additional services. There are much cheaper and faster options than this that you can integrate with your garage. I made the mistake of buying a chamberlain myQ enabled door opener and I’ve now had to spend another $100 to buy a device called ratgdo to connect to it properly locally and connect to home assistant for quick response and proper integration without having to pay on going fees to integrate with other systems. I’ve paid for the hardware I shouldn’t have to keep paying to have a smart door opener using a badly designed app.

Too slow !
App is painfully slow !
Lack of integration with Alexa
I have used the myQ app for years and it was at least able to be integrated via third party apps so that it had some “smart” features such as geofencing and voice control via Alexa. In the last year or so, it seems the ability has been completely removed and that is a lot of steps backward influencing my perception of any chamberlain or myQ value. As a digital remote, sure it works fine if you want to get your phone out, touch or Face ID to open it, then touch or Face ID to open the app. A traditional remote is obviously far less trouble and faster but runs the security risk if stolen. It begs the question, why does chamberlain hold back the progress and convenience of connecting to Alexa that could add so much more value. I’d rather not have to set up ‘scenes’ and commands in a third party app which for some people is technologically challenging. It’s time to move on and add these smart features in the app. Personally, I find the regression of chamberlain product capabilities in favor of hoarding features into a subscription service deplorable and deceptive for those of us that purchased these products based on those capabilities then to have them taken away is nothing more than an amature and pathetic management decision. Stay away from chamberlain products.

Tried so hard to get MyQ App to work
We bought a LiftMaster powered by myQ recently and the wifi camera works great if I'm close to it. However, when I am anyplace other than home, it only works only about 5% of the time. That said, my Ring cameras work during those times, which indicates the wifi at home is good to go. We have worked for approximately 7 hours over the past week with our garage door installer and with myQ technical support and they could not figure it out. So the installer put in a new myQ camera in the garage door head unit (which was recommended by myQ customer service) and the same issue persisted. Then the installer replaced the entire garage door opener with another new unit. The problem persisted. It should be noted that during all of our efforts the myQ app crashed several times, causing us to start processes over again and again. The myQ customer service person was very nice but slow to respond during phone conversations and I believe she had a person translating our conversation, which made communications extremely difficult. The other functions on the app work great as I can open and close the garage from most places, just can't get that camera to work as expected and advertised. We also tried multiple phones. For a little credibility, I have a computer science degree. MyQ, if you are reading this, please find a solution as I know others using this app will encounter the same frustrations.

MyQ Smart Garage Door Opener… love the easy set-up and use!
As a senior citizen nearing retirement it is crucial that my devices be easy to set-up and use… the MyQ technology was easy to setup. I love being able to open and close the garage door with the app on my phone. I don’t have to worry about carrying keys or a remote when I go out for my morning run…Yeah, it’s more of a walk but I do run occasionally. The My Q smart door opener is especially handy when I go out to garden. I live in a rural area and the garden is a not within sight of the house. I need to close the door when I exit the garage with my gardening tools and wagon. With My Q I no longer have to grab the remote or fumble with an outdoor keypad. As I head back toward home, I can easily open the door with my phone and enter the garage more quickly. My Q is also great when riding to events with my friends. I no longer have to fumble with the keypad at night when viability is low.
I can get packages delivered into my garage even when I am out of state visiting my daughter. Definitely one of my best purchases!

Google Home or Apple HomeKit
Lack of google home or home integration is a pain in the backside. So much rubbish to go through to just have my google assistant open the door without me having to pick up my phone and open the app, wait several seconds to finally press the icon to open the door. Seconds of my life wasted several times a day! Give us integration with common home automation apps. Using IFTT is a stupid work around that fails regularly.

Was buggy but now completely broken
Invites never worked.
The watch app never worked.
Now the iPhone app constantly says it cannot connect to the server. I have tried all the help I could find on the internet. Nothing worked.
I have finally given up on the worst home automation system ever.
