    I see complaints about the subscription fee, but you get what you pay for, folks. I have 2 BMWs and a Mazda. I use Carly for all. It gives me the knowledge to make rational arguments with the service shops. I was able to diagnose a problem with my M3 last year and tell the dealer what needed to be fixed, after he couldn’t figure it out. Saved me huge $$. I have cleared intermittent “check engine” faults that would have cost me hundreds to get cleared at the dealer. And when I had problems using the Gen2 device, Carly shipped me a Universal device at no charge that fixed the problem. And the CEO followed up. Carly is the REAL DEAL.

  • Great product with even better customer service !!

    Hands down the best app in its category. Well worth the money and will save you a lot of money and trouble. Customer service has been great also. I had a problem with my adapter and Carly sent out a new one the next day. I will be a subscriber for life.
  • Forced obsolescence!

    I bought the adapter a few years ago, as well as the pro version of the app. I now have a new car and have found out that they have released a new version of the adapter, and removed the pro version. I have tried to connect to my new car with the adapter and am now informed I have to buy the new adapter (pretty much the same as the old one), and the new version of the app. Absolute money gouging!

  • Great support, lots of functionality for low cost

    For what this device can do the price is outstanding. I’ve used it on three of my cars and it’s saved me hundreds on service fees, additionally I’ve unlocked the potential of my cars. Why BMW doesn’t preprogram the comfort features, or allow management of the features through iDrive I don’t get, but Carly gets it done. Great support too. I’m upgrading the Head Unit, Screen and idrive and tech support is there to help.

  • Returned my adaptor. Poor functionality.

    Not the first time I have done coding, I used VAG-COM for years on my VW & Audi vehicles.

    Bought Carly app and the adapter for a total of approx £130 together and expected good things.

    Worked okay on my E70 (X5) but when I connected it to my wife’s G02 (X4) it immediately said the mileage fraud possibility was high. I found this extremely misleading and unduly sensationalist as we bought the car brand new and it was only a month old. It certainly does not have any fraudulent mileage. It’s only done about 850 miles from new.

    The coding abilities for the X4 were not as comprehensive as the Carly website suggests they are. I contacted Carly Support and they suggested I get the car updated(!) the car is only a month old.

    I picked up a new F82 (M4) two days ago and Carly shows it has over 30 faults.
    I obviously panicked and took the brand new car straight back to BMW.

    They scanned the car and it shows zero faults! I’m literally furious that Carly has misled me so badly.

    The coding options on the M4 also are not available. At all.

    It comes up with a communication reliability issue..? The car is brand new and BMW can communicate with it fine as they have proven.

    This app and its adaptor are just far too unreliable for me. I’ve returned the adaptor and will try and recover my money for the app as it’s just not fit for purpose.

  • Functionality

    Not as advertised at all. Depending on model, most things the ad states are not current options at all. Was able to clear a few minor codes but could have done that anywhere for free. Unless the full functionality as advertised comes to fruition this product is basically useless.
  • Super to have access to all cars and brands!

    I was a bit skeptical at first. I decided to dive in and try the Universal Adapter and the Carly all brands app. So far I’m not disappointed. My vehicles are older, so limited in some Carly functions. Yet what I do have is great and will definitely be able to save me money and time in diagnosing issues properly.

    Since I am working on replacing the vehicles, having the Used Car check will be a great benefit. Everybody sells a used car for some reason, right? Being able to detect that reason BEFORE the purchase will be an advantage to me.

    The Customer Support team is also great. They were swamped at year end but really came through for me with my questions.

  • Buyer beware

    Paid feature - battery registration on BMW - does NOT work. Repeated request for help from support only points me to their online help which does not resolve my issue even with repeated explanations that I followed it to a T. Even worse, they claim premium support but all I get is - go to our online support which frankly does not resolve the issue. Oh and their response time - goodluck as it takes them forever to respond.

    I spent $83 for the paid version and it has not been useable, I am asking for refund but likewise has not gotten any response if it’s possible or not. Way too expensive experiment.

  • Excellent service and app

    So the app actually provides u with all type of info including abs which i was surprised. I had left iphones for a little bit and the app had migrated now to instead of the pro app an anual subscription. And coming back was super smooth due to the incredible work of Robert at carly. I’m so glad there is still amazing companies with amazing representatives. Thank you!

  • Stay away

    Folks don’t buy this app total unethical company. They offer you to buy the app and then they will make you buy their obd2 adapter which is at a ridiculous price and then they upgrade adapter so you have to buy it again or you can’t use the app and all of its functions. Plus recently they have slowed down the communication speed with adapter I have had for years and now the app doesn’t even connect what kind of stunt is this? Then they charge you fees for various things you want to do to your car. Buy Foxwell, Torque plus, trust me as a 30 year BMWCCA member with many previous and current BMW’s this is the worse form I’ve encountered since 1990. Apple get rid of them!
