  • Very user unfriendly

The previous version of this app was so much more user friendly. The new update takes longer to load, you have to zoom in from the entire country to locate where you are, it’s not easy to find incidents, and the color of the traffic speeds is not easy to read. I’ll be using Google Maps more often now since I cannot even get a good traffic report from my own state authority.

  • What a Piece of Junk

The previous version was OK but this one is terrible. Without knowing how the incidents get placed on the map, I can only say PUT THEM ON. More than half of the time when I come across a crash, it’s not even on the map. I drive I-15 from Ogden to Spanish Fork twice a week and Ogden to Salt Lake every day. I see a lot of crashes and as I said, they aren’t even on the map. That’s if you can even see them on this new interface. Have you tried to play an incident alert. Maybe it’s just a setting on my phone, but it plays at a speed that I can’t even begin to understand(too fast). I don’t see any responses by the developer to these comments, so I have no idea if anyone is even reading them. I read a previous comment that said to make this so a kindergartner could use it. Most people use it while driving and this piece of garbage makes that even more dangerous than ever. Hopefully someone reads this comment.

  • New versions are supposed to get better!

The new version of the UDOT Traffic app is so much more complicated than the old one! The old app was intuitive! I want a page with a list of alerts and incidents! If I’m traveling from Utah County to St. George I want to see everything currently on I-15! If there is an incident on my route I want to be able to see whether it is on the left or right side so I know which side of the freeway to drive on. The old app made this so easy! I was excited to see a new version of the UDOT Traffic app - until I tried using it!

  • Why change it?

The UDOT App used to be useful, but the latest “upgrade” has made it next to useless.

You used to be able to simply open the app and quickly see what the traffic conditions were and what the weather was doing to the roads.

Now, you have to stop and put in your destination, pick a route, and regardless of any ACTUAL road conditions/problems, it always seems to say “No delay”, which is really frustrating when you end up sitting on the interstate at a complete stop for 15 minutes plus, and the app STILL tells you that there is “No delay”.

  • Bring old version back

The old version of this app was fantastic and now they’ve updated it and removed or change the way it works and it’s much harder to find information. Looks like it can do more but it can’t present the information in a simple easy to read manner like it used to be able to. my main concerns are we used to be able to pull up a list of emergency alerts, a list of accidents, a list of construction alerts, etc. but now we just have to search the map for all that information and it’s so much harder to find the details

  • Useless

I used to use the old app to see the cameras for weather related roads. This “new” version is useless. You can’t see anything, no local cameras or local road conditions or traffic, you have to sign up for an unwanted account on the website, and get texts all day long about incidents hours away from you even after you’ve repeatedly turned off every alert possible on the app & the website. Go back to the old version that was actually helpful.

  • Horrible “upgrade”

This new iteration of the UDOT app is horrible! Horrible to navigate. Horrible to follow. Horrible. Horrible. Horrible!!! At least give us a choice of which App we’d like. Take me back to the last one. It admittedly had its quirks, but at least it was navigable. We just came up a construction site around Nephi. All I want to do is find out how long traffic will be backed up. Can’t find that info anywhere. So incredibly frustrating when before the upgrade that info was readily available. I typically don’t leave bad reviews. But I felt compelled to leave one here. Hope you will fix the issues!

  • Traffic all Green, No Alert List, Useless

The 4.1 update doesn’t address my 4.0 concerns. It’s concerning that the developers glossed over the public outrage over 4.0 by ignoring it completely. The useful text list of alerts is gone, like incidents and construction - please bring it back. Everywhere on the map shows green - not accurate, while the old version 3 right now shows red conditions too. Avoid this beta version.

  • Useless app

9/9/23. Google maps showed the accident around 3p but this application did not. It kept zooming back to auto dim settings and did not show any detail when I zoomed into the highway. Did not show traffic congestion did not show the accident an alert or delays like the old app. Whoever wrote this app, obviously does not have a car and never leaves the house. The colors of traffic congestion were extremely in accurate, and the lack of any information on why we were sitting in a parking lot on northbound I 15 we’re left to chance When we came upon the accident site with the emergency vehicles, the application showed nothing despite having all the settings turned on. Came across the accident site with multiple emergency vehicles, I destroyed car, tow truck, people on the interstate, and debris, and no mention of any of it on the app. I am going to stick to Google maps.
