Halifax Online Banking
As with all new(ish) technology, I am a naturally cautious person, however, having now been using the Halifax online banking app for the past few years, I am Really happy with it. I basically do all my banking online either through the app or through the website and very rarely have I required assistance to complete the task in hand. Moving money, taking out loans, completing some of those loans early, amongst other transactions, I now find second nature. The 24-7 availability of the functions are very convenient, at home, work or wherever. It has taken me time to acclimatise to doing this, but now I’m on it, I think it’s great.
I wouldn’t want to remove telephone banking as a service as there are always occasions where individuals may need to talk person to person, but on the whole, I don’t think I have needed to talk to the Halifax directly for some years.
I’m back!
Having fallen foul of their stringent security procedures I ended up being denied access to my money when I tried to move some of it to income bonds with NSandI. I tried 4 times to beat the horrible photographic parts then decided to have a final go to break through the barrier, again, a total failure, so having kept a current account with the Halifax I asked them to switch me back!
I spent MANY years in the security business (though not in the money world) and my mantra to the many people I trained was “security MUST make sense” and, for me, Santander’s didn’t. They just go too far in denying me access to my money in their efforts to prevent me being scammed - their system didn’t even recognise NSandI as a non scam recipient of funds.
