  • Ok but needs a rethink

I like that the beats can be divided which was why I bought the app. However, I think the beat divisions may need a rethink.
    I cannot find 1e+ , 1+a or 1e a.
Could also do with a needle that is wider and perhaps smoother that is on a radius rather than just straight from side to side.
    Otherwise a very promising app.

Thanks for the review. On the Change Rhythm page if you tap P3 you'll see quick ways of entering 1e+, 1+a, etc. Please check out the "Framework Rhythm Entry" tutorial in the PolyNome menu to learn how to play any rhythm within the subdivisions. Tap the ⓘ anywhere you see it in the app to learn more, and check out https://polynome.net/follow for regular tips and tricks. You can also contact me through the app if there's anything you want to do that you can't figure out. Thanks, Joe
  • Brilliant

Hard to imagine anything this metronome and rhythm practice tool cannot do. Great interface that manages the complexity and flexibility of the app really well. Leaves every other drummers practice app in the dust!!
  • Hands down, Best Met app out there!!

I run my own business designing and instructing Marching bands and indoor percussion ensembles. This app has the most features and is easy to operate and program in a fast paced rehearsal setting. I highly recommend this app!!
  • Fantastic!

I'm new to this app, but I already love it. The random dropout feature alone makes it worthwhile. Having the click drop out for a few measures here and there during practice sessions really puts my time to the test and keeps me honest. Thanks for a great product!
  • Blown away

Although I am just starting out using PolyNome I can see and hear the difference this app will make when I start using it at some of my percussion rehearsals. It's a very amazing tool Bravo !!!
  • Excellent app

Hands down, the best metronome app I have tried. Can seem a little daunting at first, but only because there are so many features packed in. I spent a little time learning how to use it (the developer has made many videos to make the learning simple) and have found ways to create practice routines that are translating into noticeable improvements in my playing. Well worth the money.

  • Awesome app

Has everything I was looking for and then some compared to other metronome apps. Use it daily while I practice guitar. Didn't know how off-rhythm I was getting while going threw my practice routine and staying on rhythm is more than half the battle to sounding like you know what you're doing.
  • Love it!

How many people can say that their metronome makes it fun to practice?

The new addition of bass sounds lets me set up rhythms for different music genres. I love practicing with them. I am no longer am trying to precisely follow a click but getting into the groove. This allows me to try all sorts of different techniques while my "backing band" which never falters. Invaluable!

  • metronomic heaven

Want to play contemporary drums? You need the learning tools to practice those difficult rhythms. Look no further. This is the app you are looking for.
Ok it takes a little effort to learn how to use it, but it has tutorial videos to solve that.
Don't guess how a long triplet should sound. Half note trips are a doddle. How about 5 over 3. Or 7 over 4. Easy. Ask a harder one please! This monster music maestro has the answers.
You will never run out of intriguing possibilities for practice. Make your music more interesting with the thinking drummer's metronome. Plus since I first purchased it it has continued to evolve. Just like drummers who don't have it don't.

  • Not user friendly At all

This is good metronome with potential but is way too complicated to program and dumped all my presets when it updated itself.

    Developer Response

Hi, I'm sorry you feel that way. It shouldn't have dumped all your presets. I can only imagine this happened if you deleted/reinstalled the app. You can always backup your Presets from the PolyNome menu for safe keeping. Regarding the complexity it's just a case of learning a few of the basics. The default Presets all have ⓘ buttons that you can press to see video explanations of how the Presets were programmed. There are ⓘ buttons throughout the app that will help you learn how to use it. I promise that it's a relatively short learning curve and it pays off. I hope you'll give it another shot. You can always contact me through the Help page in the App if you need assistance. Thanks, Joe
