  • ONE change would make it useful

The app has it backwards. You’re shown to anyone you are within a certain distance of, and they are shown to you. Then you can like someone.

It would make sense if first you tell the app that you passed someone you’re interested in, THEN the app shows you to people who were there at the time.

That one change would prevent much of the awkwardness and privacy issues from being shown to all the strangers around you.

As it is, you have to leave the app open and be exposed to tons of people you’re not interested in. No filters beyond gender and age, either. I can’t understand how the developers think that’s the way it should be.

  • Garbage

Almost no matches, paid 30 for a month.....THEN They want more money for message bundles...... complete garbage
  • Low blow&questionable practice

I’d be interested to see if this app’s creator(s) are not resorting to dodgy, illegal tricks to get people’s money.
Short time after I signed up to this, I got a notification telling me someone is interested in me but to be able to see who or from where, I had to pay. Sounds familiar right?
Not particularly concerned about money at this stage, I paid. And guess what? My “admirer” lives thousands of miles away from me -something that should never ever happen in an app that prides itself on matching people who just walked/drove past each other- and on top of that, my “distant” admirer looked like an Instagram model, no genuine info, nothing that even bothers to convince anyone profile is real.
This kind of thing shouldn’t “happen” when people use an app that focuses on location based dating.
And that I had to pay to find this out?
I wonder what the relevant government authority would think about this and whether the business responsible for this can be hold accountable.
You keep doing this, eventually you’ll end up in court mate.

Hello Utopia, happn cannot be held accountable for this kind of situation for the following reasons: this probably happened because someone happened to be on holidays in your area and ended up leaving shortly after they Liked you. But the geolocation system is real. It could also be a geolocation issue in your phone or in the other person's phone. I hope this answer clears your doubts. See you soon on happn! Bob from happn.
  • Waste of a good concept.

Right from the word go the producers of this app (consciously or not) has made it extremely difficult for me to use. I was unable to log in using my mobile number, receiving an “oops something went wrong” reply when adding my t-mobile (now EE) number and received a similar reply when trying to use my original face book account. I only persevered by creating a new account, many would have given up at that point.

Once in the app, if you press upgrade to premium, the app opens up a window which tells you all about the benefits of upgrading to premium then gives you no option to do so. I’m sure there is many more like me who wish to know who liked them and would pay to do so, but are unable. Such a waste of a good idea.

This app feels unfinished at best, a real shame. So much more work is needed to get this to the level of its competitors. But for now at least it has a uniqueness that has, as yet, not been successfully copied. For now.

Hey B zeebee, as far as logging in via phone number is concerned, it was a technical issue that lasted a couple of days which has now been fixed. Regarding the fact that you wanted to upgrade to Premium but couldn't, it is probably due to a reception problem when you tried to click on the pop-up, or a display issue on IOS's end. We have just given it a try and it works, I advise you try again with another Internet connexion. See you soon on happn!
  • Pay to win

It's a pay to win where the goal is to show how beautiful and sucessful you are. Made to increase that ego. For the love of god go outiside if you wanna meet people !
  • What a waste

The devs of happn have squandered a tremendous idea.

I played around with happn a few years ago and didn’t like it much then, and after trying it again now, it’s still crap.

It’s just so much work to sift through people, to “like”, to “hello”, before you can even msg.

It a frustrating, clunky and straight up stupid user experience.

Worst of all, the app constantly interrupts you with prompts to pay and tries to trick you into wasting “hellos”.

Waste of a decent angle. These devs have no ambition and/or ability to create an app people want to use.

    Disaster.

  • Bad

People from the next town over are the only ones who show even though I haven’t left my house since downloading. And to add to one of the other reviews, yes, only Indian people seem to be on here. That’s cool with me, but looking for more diversity on a dating app. I deleted after realizing it doesn’t actually work as described and is really just a bad version of tinder

  • Works well in the Toronto area

You only get 3 hellos when you sign on, so reaching out is very limited.
That’s where the free part ends.
However you can send a crush to the people you have crossed paths with and if they crush you back then the connection happens, and you can chat.
At that point the ice breaker is already broken, and I think it leads to a faster meet-up, which is super critical for those of us that are serious.

  • Why couldn’t log In again ??

I tried many but is showing error everything k opening from fb also not working. Why irritating us
  • There are better apps out there!

When I first started using this app back in 2015, it looked like a good idea. I normally spend about 99% of my time driving everywhere so my eyes and brain are focused on driving, not checking out people I pass by. This app allows you to go back and see if you’ve passed by another cute. You could also choose to have your profile hidden if you didn’t want someone to purposely pass by your house so they could show up on your feed.

However, as the years went, the hidden profile feature has become a paid service along with a lot of other options. If I had to pay for amount, I would prefer to use other sites with more profile info. Most of the functions now are for paid members only.

To to it off, the profiles are either fake or people claim they want a relationship but message you for hookups. Seriously? If I wanted a hookup, I would have gone elsewhere than to hookup with someone who knows where I live.
