No DAW I/O
I was so excited about this app/mixer, but disappointed to discover that it is purely a live mixer, with no way to connect to DAWs such as Logic on an iMac. Although I love the app itself (4 stars), this shortcoming renders it useless for my intended purpose...
Since it features mixer control using an Apple product, why does this mixer not include Thunderbolt, or at least FireWire connection to Mac/PC with Master Fader GUI on the same Wi-Fi network, and DAW I/O from programs on the computer as with other mixers?
Note that very long **optical** thunderbolt cables are available if required!
Unfortunately, I will not be forking out the cash to upgrade my audio interface to a Mackie DL1608 mixer unless the above features are added.
I was hoping to use virtual guitar stomp box, and vocal effects plugins on my iMac, especially now that I discovered the GiO stomp box pedal which is designed to work with the software plugins in GarageBand and Logic!Show lessAsi_9
Needs recorded file management
Please add the ability to view/playback recorded files, and especially the ability to use the "open in" function to share the file directly to the Google Drive or Dropbox apps for direct transfer without using iTunes.betheljenjac
Great Mixer, Great App.
I have used this now on a few gigs and am blown away by this app and mixer. The interface is intuitive, the sound is true to what you hear and the design is perfect for those wanting to scale down their set up. You would need to invest many thousands in your set up for what this does for around $1,000 with the DL 1608. You have gates, compressors and EQ's on every channel plus a master buss compressor to tighten the mix or protect your speakers - and a 31 band EQ for those wanting to tune the room. You can snapshot and store your settings so if you work with a band or artist regularly you can pull up their preset. This product is fantastic.Show lessKevin_Jackson
Finally 2.0 has arrived!
Adds a ton of very useful features. Also ease of use is MUCH better.... being able to quickly access settings that before were a tad cumbersome to navigate to.

Perfect
Well, going from a 16 channel analog mixer and a rack full of effects and eq's. I must say this software and mixer is setting a new standard in live sounds mixing on a budget. I have used it for a couple gigs and just by the weight difference and functionally makes it a perfect upgrade for anyone. Just the wireless part of it makes a huge difference from not running back and worth and to looking more professional.

Fabulous
Love throwing away the snake. Pls enable auto eq for the mains, monitors for feedback suppression, room tuning. Also, all faders on one screen, hide faders not in use. Still much to improve but it's great for live sound. Great to be able to walk on stage and do a monitor mix for each person.MusicMaven12
1.4.3 locking up
After updating to 1.4.3 we have had problems with the app locking up during recording. It's not immediate, but after several minutes the meters will go blank and we lose control. Usually we have had to disconnect and re-dock the iPad.

Very happy
Very solid app! I've used this for about 10 gigs and 3 rehearsals and the intuitive layout of MF is awesome. I also really like the ability for each guy in the band to be able to set their own monitor mix. I know that there are a boat load of enhancements that could be added to the app like multitrack recording and more effects but that's the beauty of having a firmware based mixer. I STILL NEED PRE EQ AUX SENDS!
This is a decent little app and the DL1608 is a decent little mixer BUT not having a PRE EQ aux send option is a real drawback if you want to use axes to feed stage monitors. this is not a difficult addition for Mackie to implement in an update.
I have been waiting anxiously through several slowly released app updates and every time I am let down. We have been waiting to see Mackie catch up to this oversight so we can make additional DL1608 purchases but without this function we can't justify buying any more units since this feature is essential to most of our usage.
Now it's a rat race between Mackie catching this or the Berhinger IX1608 being released. if they release their iPad mixer first then we will purchase them and say goodbye to Mackie DL1608.Show lessOneWay Sound Inc.
Please Add Locking Faders
I have my keyboard split up on channels 15 & 16. I then pan one left and one to the right. I would like to keep the volume of both channels synced. Please add the ability to lock chosen faders together. I love this system. I have the DL1608 teamed up with 2 DLM8's. We took it to our first performance without a backup system. It is (currently) performing flawlessly. I can't even believe how beautifully this thing works. I have the Apple Airport Express attached... Flawless again!Show lesscwkjr
