Great App!!
We use the DL1608 and master fader app for our church services. It works very well, and quite user friendly. Would like to see the ability for limiting some iPads from controlling all functions.
I know you can not record without an iPad docked in the mixer, but would like the ability to start and stop the recording with a wireless iPad when there is an iPad in the mixer.
Also, it would be nice to be able to start and stop music from the iPod app that are playing through an iPad docked in the mixer without leaving the Master Fader App.
Just some suggestions, and I recommend both the DL1608 and the App.Show lessDavyandVanessa

Having used this app alongside the actual Mackie DL1608 console it's pretty good for the price and I'm a fan.
Good points,
1. App looks awesome, really user friendly GUI.
2. Labelling channels and saving presets, always a handy feature when throwing a mix together.
3. Onyx Pre's are smooth and don't carry much noise.
4. Using it wireless works well.
Bad points,
1. Can't link channels. Can be annoying copying stereo channels EQ's etc.
2. Gates and comps can be noisy. I found if the gates or comps are working too hard they produce a slight digital interference noise.
3. The EQ isn't as responsive as I'd like. The EQ is nice but yamaha's stage mix EQ might not look as good but preforms better.
4. It can be a bit slow to respond sometimes. Whenever you're under pressure it can be a bit tiresome to work with compared to an actual physical digital desk.
5. When using more than 1 iPad controlling it can crash, quite often.
All in all it's a powerful piece of kit, and my apologies for reviewing the desk more than the app.Show lessmkernohan
Super Cool
I owned a StudioLive before I purchased the DL1608. This app is WAY better than SL Remote. It is much more intuitive and has a better work flow. I also love the fact that I do not need to haul a laptop around in order to mix wirelessly.TtownMusic
Stable, but aux mixes are post eq
I'm using this at a live venue to mix bands. App is stable, and basically works ok, but there are a couple of things that make pro use difficult.
1. Aux mixes are post channel eq. When you eq a channel, it affects the monitor mixes as well, greatly increasing the chance of feedback. MAJOR problem that I hope will be addressed in an update.
2. Its a bit awkward when mixing 16 channels to keep scrolling to get to all channels and FX. I use 2 iPads to help solve this, but a tap delay button on the delay mainLR channel would be sweet.Show lessstevereel
Works great
I have been using this mixer regularly at my AV job and so far I haven't had any problems. I use an airport express and its much easier to set up than the yamaha stuff.Sethdog
Needs added functions
The app is great and mixer are great but there are some improvements that could be made. On the main mix bus window it would be good it there was a tap delay button somewhere on the top. Another few buttons that could be added is a mute group as although you can mute the verb and delay on the bus mix window it will not mute on your aux sends, to turn off the effects in between songs when the artist talks. It would also make it easier to mute the band quickly. As mentioned earlier great app and keep up the good work.Show lesscrobe43
Absolutely incredible!
This app/hardware combo is the most amazing thing to date for live sound. Running your own monitor mixes, and having no snake to run to the board, alone make this worth the expense! Not to mention the independent compressors/gates/eq on each channel. This has revolutionized live sound.anonymouslyambiguous
Seriously missing one feature
Overall pretty functional with the new 1608 digital mixer BUT has no stereo-group function, so those left-right music channels or effects processor channels are on two faders.
We NEED to be able to group 2 channels, so we only have to control one fader for standard STEREO MUSIC!!!Ithinkitsnice
Still Missing
This is a wonderful ap / product. As someone who sells Mackie I've have demo'd this product a lot. When I first played with the initial run of these before release was if there was an ability to link the faders together. I was hoping this version had this feature. People I show this to always ask for this too. Hopefully on version 1.3.Show lessChitos472
It's reliable, and delivers as promised.
Sure, there are some features I would love to see, but this app delivers as advertised and has yet to crash on me whether wirelessly connected or docked to my DL1608. I'll take stability over glitz any time.Joel hilsden
