Like the game
I am sorry to say that I am not as pleased with it as I was when I first started to play. Now that my level is up above 99 I can not by habitats as I did before they are frozen and it takes about 2 or 3 months before I can get to by any and then you only give me enough time to by maybe 1 or 2. I also do not like the fact that most of the dragons and habitats have to be purchased with gold and it is so hard to get enough gold to do that. I have plenty of money so you should let us buy the things with money or find a better way for us to get more gold.
The newest thing now is that all the dragons can only be bought with gold. What u are trying to do is make it so that we need to buy the gold. I am so fed up I am ready to quit.Show lessyou need to try harder
Fun with a couple flaws
The good news is, it's rather fun and addictive with a lot of cool dragons and habitats, plus competitive events and other niches like battles that make the game fun to learn about and let you win cute special dragons. The bad news is, you will never have all or even most of the the dragon types, and that's my big disappoinment. Many rare ones can't be bred. They must be either crafted for an exorbitant amount of dragon essence (which takes 8 hours a piece to get) or bought for an average of 400 "gold," which is actual money, bit currency you earn in the game. 500 costs $20, so figure you are paying $20 for some of the dragons, with the rarest ones costing almost $200 (4,000 gold) - ridiculous! The other activities, such as breeding, habitat building, hatching eggs, also take several hours each on average.
The gold unfortunately isn't freely given or won during the game, but a little patience with watching ads and spinning the wheel during special events gets you generous rewards in food and game currency.
Bottom line is, if you're willing to treat it as an idle game, you like collecting cute dragons, and you're settled that you can't get all thousand varieties, it's a good game for you!Show lessaccountingpoet
Could be Fun but....too difficult to get food and gold which you need!!!
Easy to get coins which are basically useless, and way too hard to get food and gold which you need to win the challenges. Seems this game is designed to require the serious player to spend real money to buy the gold and food needed in the game. I quit playing because I can’t afford to spend that much real money to play. I only play now to send my tiny amount of gold allowed to gift my neighbors who continue to play. Can only send one piece per day to three neighbors. Yet dragons and their habitats cost thousands of pieces of gold. ....just no way to get anywhere in the game without spending a lot of real cash!!! And spin wheel no longer give habitats or dragons; and when you watch ads to gain prizes, only receive more coins. ....lost interest in same disappointments over and over again and can not afford to spend real money to advance.Show lessJayhawker1959

I have been playing Dragon Story for a little more than 6 years and still really enjoy it!
I love how you can breed different dragons and experience some of the lore of the game. The community features are amazing as well; I have never seen any thing that has been unpleasant that has to do with players. It’s fun to return to the game when you have a chance, and even just once a day is great. If you enjoy games with amazing graphics, mythical or natural creatures, and even characters that make you smile, I really think you will enjoy Dragon Story!
A note for the developers now. I have had a glitch on the two accounts I have where on other islands I visit, I can still see things that need to be cleared, where it is obvious they have been cleared on the other player’s account. It makes it hard to see the island and the graphics well. Hope it will be fixed soon, and keep making great games Storm 8!Show lessDragon loving girl
LOVE 😍 but just wish it wasn’t so hard to get gold and food..
i’ve known this game for years, and this is my favorite app on my phone.. i love how cute all the different types of dragons are and how creative they’re designs, eggs and names are. i love how u can compete for dragons too and win other prizes, but getting gold and food just takes FOREVER to save up and u get impatient. 😪 the maximum gold u can send to neighbors for one day is 3.. WHY? also food on the farms are pricey. not only is food pricey to save up, but dragons require TOO MUCH food. Everything in the market is OVERLY EXPENSIVE as well, even costs 25 gold JUST to change your island name.. now imagine dragon eggs lol! give us some slack maybe and try to fix this..? share some credit to us for downloading your app 🙁💕 then it would be 5 stars 👍Show lesshunny bun 🍯
Love Hate
I have a love hate relationship with this game. On one hand I love the way the game looks, I love the way they dragons look and when you get stuff unlocked it’s a really fun game. Now, for what absolutely drives me insane about this game is the absurd wait times for things. Food can take up to 20 HOURS. Breeding can be 50! there’s nothing to keep me engaged in the game for very long. Plus this game is RIDDLED with adds, and I understand the purpose of ads but there are so many that just randomly play or stay on your screen. There needs to be some serious reevaluating of this game to make it actually playable or enjoyable for more than like 5 minutes at a time. I got this game sometime in 2014 and I’m revisiting it and I see zero changes from SIX YEARS AGO.Show lessvampirecat311
Dragon Story
I’ve played this “Pay to Play” game for years and if you want to succeed you have to spend money! It’s unfortunate food costs so much and takes so long to grow...! Breeding is my favorite thing, but the fun is slowly dimming. Tournaments use to award Champions Dragons, but now only a Ultra or Super Rare...”Not good enough” reward for time and effort. Neighbors are loyal, that’s the best part. I wish Storm8 had as much integrity towards its players.
There should be some breathing time between events in order for players to have time to breed something they want or rearrange their islands.
I use to mentor new comers and assist them in learning how, where, when, and what to do; unfortunately as of this writing the only advice I could give is find another game unless you have the money to support it.Show lessDIZmerland
Challenges and events
This game is nice but requires alot of patience and time management. I'm good at the former but not the latter, which makes it very frustrating especially on the Bingo game and other events where it's nearly impossible to progress without spending actual money. I am currently waiting to hear back from Storm because my Bingo game STOPPED WORKING! So there's that. And the dragons cost waaaay too much gold to purchase. Not to mention it is extremely difficult to earn gold! My island is huge because i have had the game for about 3 years, but to be honest, the only things i am interested in getting anymore is the ticket temple dragons.
Also they used to update the decor, and they stopped; now they haven't updated it in over a year! Once you've bought everything, what else can you decorate with???Show lessDeathbatJo
Review
Overall I like the game. I am a teacher and my students like helping feed and read about the dragons as a reward. The only things I find frustrating is that the events at times are hard to finish. Also the really nice habitats cost gold, and no other option to get them. I understand they need a way to make money, but I don’t have spare money to spend on a game. I wish there was alternative methods to obtain gold then downloading games I don’t want. Also, I like the bingo and normally get a first one. The second board always seams to have something I can’t do. The last thing I wish I could see is how to identify quickly which dragon is in which class when playing bingo. I don’t always know the type dragon it is unless I go out and look through my list to see. And could use a symbol chart to describe what type dragon they are.Show lessMystic Isles

First of all, this game is really fun! I love all of the dragons and the way they’re drawn, unlike a few other games such as Dragon City, which has too many variations in outlining things. The events in this game are very fun, but can’t you make them last a little longer? Some people (like me) have a time limit for their devices, so they shut off after a specified amount of time, and I am doing schoolwork from 7:00am to 6:45pm. One thing you should fix is the dragon’s power when you start a battle. How is it possible that a level 3 dragon can beat a level 12 dragon so easily? That doesn’t make sense. Another thing, when you watch an ad to battle again right away, nothing happens. Every time I watch an ad, I still can’t battle, and once I tried 7 times, but nothing happened. Can’t you just do something like ‘pay 200 coins to battle now’? The costs of gold are unfair to most players. Dragons cost so much gold to buy from shops, and gold costs real money, and not many people use it because of that cost. Unlike others, I don’t mind how long I have to wait for eggs, evolutions, or breeding, as I leave this game alone for a few days before I pick it up again. A more satisfied customer wouldn’t leave this game alone, so you can tell I’m not very satisfied with this game. I rated this a four star app, because I am more fair to others and rounded 3.5 to 4.
