Used to be great
This app used to be a great way to stream videos of all sorts inside of your local network without any of the fuss from setting up other products. However, with the latest version of TVOS the play/pause features don’t work at all. Nothing happens when you press the buttons. If you press the menu button you’ll end up back at the home screen, where you can kill the app, then go back later.
This is obviously a bug, but it’s super annoying and dramatically reduces the utility of the program.Show lesspridkett

The app has stopped responding to the Play/Pause button when using the remote with the Apple TV 4K. I hope this bug is fixed soon. When the app is working properly it is very good.Kasaramba

Works fine for the most part, but we desperately need a way to turn off subtitles by default. So sick of having to turn them off for each new episode that starts.
Additionally, the Apple TV version is broken since TVOS 14.2. You can no longer pause / rewind / fast forward, and if you go back to the Home Screen you then have to restart the NAS or it says something else is already streaming when you try and play something.Show lessDaveM8686

Every version of this software get worse. Last version killed search and this version will not allow you to use play pause. If Synology continue to ‘improve” this product it won’t even play videos.t3x0z

Recently play/pause buttons stop working on Apple TV’s and there is still no fix from Synology.
I am now a very happy Infuse 6 pro user and will never go back to Synology video station!
Video station/DS video is a lot slower compared to Infuse 6 pro.
Video station/DS video is horrible at metadata detection and download
Video station/DS video does not have file management on Apple TV unlike Infuse 6
Video station/DS video does not offer DTS/EAC3 support unlike Infuse 6
Video station/DS video crashed at least 2-3 times a day on my A1625 Apple TV but Infuse 6 pro hasn’t had a single crash yetShow lesspro-truth

Been a while since i last reviewed... is there a way to report bugs?
DS218+ through Apple TV4K with iOS 14.2 and can no longer pause/fast forward etc.
Also when i stop watching a movie, i can’t end it now, it just keeps playing unless a kill the app and relaunch.Putkettleon

Worked fine on AppleTV until iOSTV 14.2... now play/pause and click buttons do not respond; please fix the bug.

Firstly handles only some formats, hard to tell which as despite encoding a load of DVDs in the same format, some work and some don’t which unsupported format error. Oddly, many of those that don’t work directly in DS Video, do work when played back via DS File, another app from Synology so that’s a bit weird and a terrible user experience.
Secondly, DS Video now refuses to even play anything now from two different NAS behind two different router/firewall on two different ISPs. I get a vague port forwarding error despite no changes to firewall rules on both routers.
