  • Nice and creepy

So I enjoyed this game a lot, there’s not a lot of dark atmospheric phone games and it delivered in that sense. If I had a criticism it would probably be that it was pretty short/not a whole lot of play time. I spent most of my time with this game stuck on figuring out puzzles, when I did get what I was supposed to do they were really quick and easy to complete, and there weren’t that many.

I really enjoyed the story, and how it came full circle, but there’s a pretty big trigger warning needed here for anyone who struggles with su*c*dal ideation.

  • Not for me, I guess?

The reviews of this game are stellar but I really couldn’t get into it. It was generally bewildering and pretty boring. I looked up a walkthrough to get started because I just had no idea what to do, and then I had to constantly refer to the map on a separate device. I peeked ahead in the walkthrough and it seemed like just more of the same. After about half an hour I decided I just wasn’t having fun and closed the app.

  • My personal favourite indie game

Beautiful artwork, mysteriously atmospheric, fascinating story and creepy aesthetic
  • Sound and menu issues

I cannot hear the sound nor can I find the menu as in it’s just the game, my volume buttons on high but no sound?!
I loved this game in the past but just paid for it and without the sound it’s not a great experience. Any help and advice appreciated !!
  • Love the art x

This is honestly such a lovely game I just wish it wasn’t so short x
It’s truly one of my favourite games :3 Thankyou
  • The legend that is SIMOGO

Another astounding game from these developers, I adored Device 6 one of the best games ever made and this is right up there with it, it’s creepy with brilliant atmosphere and cracking puzzles, it does take a brain cell or 2 so unfortunately those without have dragged the rating down, I bought the sailors dream after this and what a beautiful experience that was......SIMOGO you truly have my heart 💖.

Edit: so 8 years or so on and I have replayed this incredible game this time with the companion guide to open the box, wow how did I miss the ending the first time, breathtaking, loved reading the diary, this really is a masterpiece of storytelling and has stood the test of time only get better with improved visuals, I’m so glad it’s been kept updated. I love you Simogo.

  • 👍

Amazing! The combination of horror and mystery made the game all the better, and the puzzles were enjoyable, to say the least. I WOULD give this game a 5/5 star. The only problem I have... Is the length. The length of the game is definitely NOT worth $4. Other then that, good job!
  • I Have Returned

I played this game years ago when it was first released, and just the other day thought about it though I couldn’t remember what it was called! I searched through hundreds of my old apps that I had downloaded on the past and FINALLY found it. I vaguely remembered the game and actually couldn’t remember how to solve any if the puzzles at all, which was a good thing in that it allowed me to play through the game again while having to really think! I loved it just as much the second time I played through, and I’m excited to read through the companion app. Congratulations on this game, I thoroughly loved it (again).

  • Instant Favorite—”Year Walk” is Fantastic.

This is a stylistic, smart, beautifully designed horror game that delves deep into Swedish mythology. My only nitpick is that the game is too short, thus when you’ve gotten the hang of the puzzles and chosen to “walk again,” “Year Walk” is easy to solve a second time and, thus, the gameplay is quicker. But these are probably the best $4 I’ve spent in the App Store. This game deserves a larger following and all the purchases it can. Its premise is original, the controls are smooth, the illustrations stunning, and the myths behind it are intriguing. This is among my favorite games, and my #1 iOs horror game hands down.

  • Good but too short and difficult

The game a really good and thought out. I loved the style and music. I think it was so cool to incorperate folklore into this game and I wish there were more games like this but there were a few issues.

The game was really short and expensive. I’d understand the price if the game was longer but it’s only a hour long, that is if you don’t get too confused. And I wish that you could experience it for a little bit longer.

The game was also VERY confusing and difficult. I was very stuck on the part when you follow the Huldra into the tree and ended up deleting the game 3-4 times to get a fresh start and make sure I didn’t miss anything. I was also stuck on the part where you give the mylings to the kelpie (brook’s horse) and ended up spending about an hour trying to get the mylings, and 2 days trying to get out of the tree thing.

Although the game was great, it would’ve been better if it was longer, less expensive, or less difficult.
