  • Wonderful App!

I have tried out other popular mindfulness apps on the market and found that these soft-spoken talking techniques work wonderfully for me. What has turned me off has always been the high price tags associated with other apps of this kind on the market. This left me felt like I was stuck between my insomnia and my bank account and unable to find a middle ground.

Enter SmilingMind and it is as if my prayers have been answered. This is a wonderful pp that delivers the same quality content as other apps on the market, only for free! The collection of meditations is (as you would expect) slightly smaller than paid alternatives, but there is still enough to be content with.

    My only suggestions for improvement:
    • Nuance the categories a little more, at the moment the distinction of just adult/child/group is a bit limiting and I would consider more groups like “Sleep”, “anxiety”, “relaxation”
    • add a search function.

Small gripes though for an otherwise wonderful app! Thank you for all your work!

  • Best free mindfulness app.

Try this if your new to mindfulness.
    Beginners and experienced alike.
    No hidden costs. No subscriptions.
    Courses for kids included.
  • Brilliant with a couple of drawbacks

This ap helped me to start meditating consistently, getting me started with short, easy meditations. There was a large variety of meditation types to choose from and the programs were useful to guide me through learning about certain aspects and benefits of mindfulness. When I was ready, there were longer meditations available.
    Drawbacks:
    * After reaching a 181 day streak, I forgot a day. Now I have a 20 day streak and no evidence I ever did 181 days. This is demotivating. How about a “best streak” column?
    * Tracking moods is a great feature, but it only tracks 1 week. I really don’t think there’s any point tracking such a short span. How about tracking over time to see how my mind has really changed from mindfulness?
    * The ap talks regularly about 10mins of mindfulness changing your brain- but most sessions are 5-7mins! It would be lovely to see more 9-12min sessions to build my skill and engagement

  • Smiling Mind Review

The smiling mind app was very pleasant and easy to use. After trying out the free app for a couple of weeks I have found it to be very relaxing and upon finishing a session I felt happier and more alert. The app offered a variety of short and extended, creative exercises that changed to suit the appropriate age groups which ranged from 7 year olds to adults. The app also had sessions for different situations such as ‘taking public transport’ or ‘taking flight’ which I thought was an excellent way for people with anxiety to become more comfortable in moments of stress. The app was very easy to use and didn’t require much time to start and finish a meditation session making it easy to practice mindfulness at any point of the day. Overall I think the app is excellent and really helped me become less stressed after participating in a meditation session in the morning allowing me to be more focused and ready for the day head. The smiling mind app may not be for everyone but I would definitely recommend trying it.

  • Great Experience

From my experience using the app, I believe that this app is an excellent way to manage stress and to relax. The smiling mind app has many programs ranging from children to teenagers to adults. The app can be used in all types of situations such as sport, being in a workplace and the app even has classroom lessons. The app has a lot of short meditations which are great for people who do not have a lot of time. You can use the app in situations such as walking to work, waiting in the car or even just at home to relax. The app even allows you to download programs which makes it easier to use in public. In conclusion, if you are stressed or even just need an escape from reality to relax, this is the perfect solution.

  • Smiling Minds App Review

The overall layout, modern design and availability ($free) of the Smiling Minds app makes practicing mindfulness enticing and easy to practice/ achieve. The app caters for virtually all ages (7 to adult), in a variety of different activities (e.g mindful eating, physical activity, meditation etc), that vary in different lengths (short 1 minute exercises to lengthy 40+ minute exercises), to personally suit the user.
Upon participating in some of the activities myself, whilst I found that they were refreshing, rejuvenating and easy to follow with clear instructions- after sampling multiple mindfulness activities within the app many of the activities seemed to become quite repetitive and eventually would result in personal boredom.
Overall though, I would recommend and commend this app that is splendidly put together and I believe that I will be using this app to practice mindfulness in the future!

  • Smiling Mind is great

When opening the app for the first time I was pleasantly surprised with the layout and colours, as it was visually appealing to the eye and I found it easy to use. With an age range from 7- Adult there are different activities and meditations available for everyone to do at different stages of there lives. The app has refreshed my mindfulness, I used the sleep: starry night which helped me have a good sleep and I was left feeling rejuvenated. Smiling mind is a great app as it's mediations start from 1 minute and there are meditations for everyone to do even if only for a minute. I found the shorter ones quick and helpful in checking my breathing. Not only does it have meditation but also activities which allow you to use things such as food, which is a great way to enhance mindfulness overall. I highly recommend smiling mind to anyone, as it has a range of meditation activities suited to everyone definitely give it a go.

  • Terrible

My View towards this app is very similar to many other peoples thoughts, ideas, comments and criticism in the way that I think the app can be helpful and you can expect benefits from it, but there are many downfalls and issues that go along with it. According to what I have seen, the app is well sent and designed and introduces new users to the app. It is fairly simple to use and you are able to choose what seasons you like by favouriting the programs or sessions. The app does seem to really care about peoples’ mental health and getting you to relieve stress and anger. However, I find the audio terrible and not recorded properly, as it has these annoying sounds in the background that can be distracting. I have received many notifications notifying me about “Network Errors” even though my network was fine. I do not find the app the be useful and does not work on me. I only did this for an assessment for school.

  • Smiling minds review

I was extremely pleased when I saw what this app had to offer. Smiling minds includes a wide variety of programs and sessions to help with almost everyone’s needs. The programs and sessions that this app provides can cater to many different ages, starting at 7, through to adults. These programs and sessions can help support people with stress or even to just simply refresh ones mind. Although, some of the sessions I found did not cater to me in anyway. Some were not as affective as others. I found that this free app is very affective to a vast majority of people as it provides them with the help they need to overcome any stress or anxiety.

I haven't had the app for long but felt my mind would benefit off the app after the first session
