Latest layout just has so many design and access flaws
This was such a wonderful app, At some point, a year ago? they redesigned the layout and made it stressful to use. It was so simple before, you wanted a sleep story? You could scroll through every one simply and fluidly. now they are all separated, train stories from nature from featured or whatsoever and you have to spend your time searching through multiple tabs, that shudder as you scroll, not fluid anymore, the last thing you want to do when you’re looking to get to sleep. And though on each there’s a See All tab, you only see all of that category - making it really difficult to just access all sleep stories. And these sleep categories are all buried among daytime use tabs, meditations, daily get up and go stuff, mental fitness. Who thought this was a good idea?? The layout design is too specified and difficult to just go and find what you want. Also, while I’m glad there is more kid content being added for parents it would be nice if they added other stories at the same pace, and also backed off some of the more cheesy approaches to new stories that seems to have begin to pervade. Bummer when a great thing is “improved” and made far less nice.

Great App-Needs a few little tweaks
Calm has great stories, meditations and more. I love it and have the full version. I love Anna Acton, Eric Braa, and other soothing voices. Some of them, however, are just a bit...jarring. I know everyone has different tastes but I like to listen to voices directing me during meditation or towards sleep that don’t jump out at me. Please, Calm, add more voices like Eduardo Ballerini, Ramon Tikaram, Chiké Okonkwo, May Charters and Jerome Flynn. Cillian Murphy is a great guest sleep story teller but please don’t just use celebrities because of name value. They don’t all make good storytellers/meditation guides. Some write the stories and I am grateful to those who come up with such wonderful sleep stories for adults. The ones that travel back in time, especially aboard old trains are outstanding! Just curate the voices a little better because some of us are too sensitive to the nuances of voice to listen to many of the meditations/stories. That’s kind of a waste. I end up listening to the same ones over and over. Please make the sleep stories at least 35 minutes, too. For those of us who need longer to drift away.
Finally, since you are now making playlists, how about one that is just long train stories? Thanks so much!

Thank you for this app!
I have previously looked at this app multiple times and never downloaded or purchased the subscription. After a recent period of very poor sleep, even resulting in husband having to move rooms most nights because I just couldn’t settle, this app has been a great relief! The sleep stories are so soothing, at first I wasn’t actually falling asleep to them but rather them making me very relaxed and distracting my mind, then falling asleep shortly after. But now pretty much every night I’m asleep by half way through the story and never hear the endings. I’m also doing the 7 days of sleep meditation practice before I go to sleep to try and reframe how I think about and approach sleep. I think these are super helpful as just remind you how common sleep problems are and what the key practices are to learn to be able to welcome sleep. 100% would recommend to anyone who is suffering with sleep problems and well worth the annual subscription.

Worth the lifetime subscription
I haven’t missed a single night since starting my subscription, so a year in I decided to go with the offer on lifetime.
I enjoy Tamara Levitt and her Daily Calm, though I suspect these are now repeats from last year - a few things are familiar. I could be wrong.
I did many rounds of Tamara’s 7 days of sleep - a worthwhile course for insomniacs.
Really enjoying Jeff Warren and the Daily Trip - he has a wonderful spirit and makes me laugh a lot. A very experienced meditator who can break it down into wonderful simple elements, and can make you feel like you are an equal with him.
My night wouldn’t be complete without Oren Jay Sofer’s Deep Rest which usually gets me off to sleep.
On the odd occasion I am still awake I will tune into some sleep inducing music.
Sometimes I find the interface frustratingly slow, but maybe that’s the point?
I have found Calm to be well worth the money with such a wide variety of options - always something new, but also many old faithful offerings as well.
A great app, frequently introducing fresh content. Not enough hours in the day to benefit from all of it, but benefit I do.
Peace and love meditators.

The best way to calm anxiety
I’m a 19 y/o college student that suffers from an anxiety disorder. I feel anxious most of the time and when things to actually feel anxious about present themselves it can be absolutely debilitating for me physically and emotionally.
However calm allows me to find hope in my current predicaments, and is amazing at calming me down. I really enjoy the soundscapes and meditation but my favorite thing is definitely the sleep story’s.
Listening to a bedtime story made for little kids mostly is really strangely therapeutic. There are more adult options but give the kiddy one’s a try. I feel like I’m one of the last demographics that these sleep story’s would reach but they make me feel more secure and able to connect back to the security of childhood.
But anyways I highly recommend this app, the subscription is a bit pricey but the quality isn’t matched anywhere else. Falling asleep, calming down, feeling secure, and gaining more confidence & hope have all been easy and peaceful to do with this app. I’ve been falling asleep with my headphones on every night so I can listen to this without disturbing my roommate. But I feel like he would enjoy it too.
After just the first day of the free trial I’m hooked.

Can’t change languages
I can’t change languages.
There is no option to do so on the app on my phone.
So I logged in through Safari.
Guess what? The button to save the language change is at the bottom of the change language page and takes up just the amount of space that the default menu bar that Safari overlays on the page, so there is NO WAY to press the button. They’ve changed the CSS on the page to disallow zoom in or zoom out, so I can’t just zoom out to show this portion of the page and then click ok. I also can’t change the settings in Safari to “view as on desktop” to resolve this, since this stupid inflexible CSS is also set for the desktop version.
So basically there is no way for me to change the language short of getting my laptop out in bed and logging in.
I’m in bed, I signed up to this on my phone to use on my phone and get to sleep from the app on my phone.
Why on Earth isn’t there a simple straight forward way for me to change the langue directly from my phone?!??
I’ve selected change language of app through my phone’s settings and the language doesn’t change.
Wo betide the person who has the language of their phone set to anything different than they want the language of Calm to be in. If you have an iPhone 11 at least, there is NO WAY to change the language through the app or on your phone at all.
How ludicrously inflexible, and not the least bit calming.
Please fix ASAP.

Love it!
I use this app on a daily basis. The sleep stories are so effective that I’m usually asleep before the end and there’s a great choice to suit most preferences. I enjoy the meditations and masterclasses too. This is my favourite app of its kind and I would highly recommend it to anyone. For this reason I’ve rated it with five stars. However, about four weeks ago, I bought a Calm gift card giving the recipient a full year of access to Calm’s premium content. I was sent an e gift card which I gifted to my niece. Despite trying repeatedly to activate her gift card/subscription, she’s been unable to do so. I looked through the various trouble shooting suggestions in Calm help and support centre but did not find a solution. I would like to speak to/ text chat/email someone at Calm, an actual person but can find no means of doing this. I’m now becoming annoyed and frustrated and not calm because I cannot find resolution or anyone to speak to. The gift card cost $50 and won’t work. If anyone from Calm can help me with this matter, it would be much appreciated thank you.

Too many flaws
OK. So it’s a decent app, but not for getting to sleep. Sure, if you are already tired and want to revert back to being a child and have someone read you a lovely bedtime story then this is good. Also some decent meditations and music. BUT it really misses the point of relaxation 1. Most authors’ voices are far too lively. Just not calming at all. Harry Style and Mary Berry were good. But rarely if you can’t sleep will these help. 2. The meditation people too need a soothing voice. They don’t. Not very relaxing. 3. When you are awake middle of the night and can’t find your reading glasses, trying desperately to find the right content, have a toggle to make the graphics bigger please and why when scrolling to find a soundscape you flick through to find the right one and you lose the place in the scroll of options. It keeps taking you back up to the top. All of these annoyances make me irritable and more awake. So it’s not helped hardly at all. If you want to market yourself as ‘the’ app then I suggest you get the fundamentals right and learn how to relax instead of irritate people middle of the night.

Best app I have ever downloaded
I would never usually pay more than a few pounds for an app but got tempted to try this one on a 7 day trial recently, with the expectation that I would cancel it before it subscribed in full. This app however is amazing and I kept it of course. It is the cost of a takeaway if you think about it and if you get just one good nights sleep after this it is worth it. It has such a vast library of sounds and meditations, something for everyone even children with stories too. If you suffer from stress, irritability or insomnia or generally have issues trying to relax I urge you to give this a try, I did and I’m so glad I did, I use it everyday and have had the best nights sleep night after night ever since I downloaded it which consequently gives you great days as you feel refreshed. The therapists too are extremely good with soothing voices and knowledgeable. You’d pay a lot more for a one on one therapy session, you still get one on one with this but in your own time and in the comfort of your own home. Well done Calm for being a life saver. 😄

I like it but……….
Ok so to start off I like it but I can barely even use anything. I was trying to do the 7 day sleep meditation but I can only do the first day and I had to repeat the first day over and over and over. All because I didn’t have the premium and the premium is $70 a year. I didn’t want to get it because that would waste my money but everything is locked for premium. So here is what I am thinking that you should do I think you should make it 50/50. Like 50% of the stuff that is locked for the premium and make it not premium so it can be fair to those who don’t have the premium and to those who have it. Now let’s talk about the price we should make it reasonable enough to get and instead of $70 let’s make it 35 dollars so it can be fair and people would be happy if they had the premium or not because they get a reasonable price and they get to use many of the meditations if they have it and if they don’t. Sorry if this was confusing but I want it to be fair because the price and the amount of meditations that you can use without the premium wasn’t fair so I wanted to make it reasonable and fair. So now I want to hear what you have to say because there are many other people that might agree with me but I am wondering if you do too
