Frustrating Experience – Drivers Cancel Frequently and accept the ride if you give Tips Upfront. Experience is consistently frustrating. Drivers frequently cancel rides after accepting, which wastes both time and effort. On top of that, some drivers have started asking for tips upfront, even before completing the trip. This feels unprofessional and adds unnecessary pressure to the experience. I’ve had instances where I waited over 40 minutes and never received a ride. This is a good app. As someone from UK using this app for the first time, only complaint is that a taxi was cancelled not by me but was asked by the app to pay the cancellation fee, also if you close the app before you start the journey it loses the job you requested even if the driver has arrived.

Scams
A taxi driver took us the wrong way when we ordered a ride in İstanbul. Saying the other bridge was full of traffic because a soccer team was playing at that time. The team was playing in Sweden in reality and he took us a round about way that doubled the time and charge. The whole time we could see from google gps and the apps gps that there was no traffic at all over the correct bridge.
Since the app doesnt have a fixed price he was able to have a meter charge as evidence when we got the police involved at the hotel. We had to pay him in cash, half what the price should have been and half what the meter said in order to not have to continue the case at the police department. He was still able to put in the request for the charge in the app without us being able to fight it. Ive deleted the app and my card from it so the scammer cannot get even more money.Show lessDhood136

All taxi drivers in Istanbul are scammers. From start to finish, they cheat you. Istanbul is a city where you have to accept being scammed, from fake goods to horrible taxi drivers. The people outside the markets and taxis are generally nice, but Turkey does nothing to control this taxi mafia. They demand ridiculous prices, much higher than app estimates, and laugh if you push back. They know you have no choice but to pay. If you decline, they won't come or take you. Istanbul is the worst city to travel in, especially with kids.Show lessmrfs7
Watch out
The driver cancelled the ride as we arrived at the airport then tried to charge us €45 on a card machine. He told us he was taking us the toll roads and it cost more but he did not as i was checking where we were going on maps. There is no way to complain on the app… they don’t seem to caremaggsy13

**Review: A Disappointing and Dishonest Taxi Experience in Turkey**
I had a deeply disappointing and frustrating experience with a taxi driver in Turkey recently. After accepting my booking, the driver arrived promptly to pick me up, which initially seemed promising. However, the situation quickly deteriorated.
Barely after driving 50 meters, the driver abruptly cancelled the trip, claiming I had selected the wrong location. Confused, I questioned him, asking, "If I chose the wrong location, how did you manage to find me?" His response was evasive and unsatisfactory.
At this point, I decided I no longer wanted to continue the ride. I requested to be let out of the taxi. Shockingly, the driver then demanded 120 TL for the short and distressing journey. I was appalled by his blatant dishonesty and the unfair charge for such a brief ride.
This experience left me questioning where the honesty has gone from the Turkish people, particularly in the taxi service industry. It's disheartening to encounter such unscrupulous behavior in a profession that relies on trust and reliability.
I hope that by sharing this review, others can be wary and avoid similar negative experiences. It's crucial for the local authorities to address such issues to maintain the integrity and reputation of their taxi services.Show lessShablala987
Ripped off!!
If you are a Tourist i will not recommend this App. The guy charges us 4x compare to uber. On this app it will not give you estimate amount how much you pay. The driver charge me 1800 TL from Arnavutkoy to Fatih. Never use your card on this app you will not have a choice but to pay. When you put a complain the contact us doesn't work. This driver scammed us.
The driver said the credit card machine through the Bitaksi app wasn’t working so he asked us to let him run our card in his machine he had with him. To do that, we had to change our payment method to “pay with cash” on the app. We should have insisted that if we were to say that, we’d pay with cash, but in addition to the language barrier, he was very insistent that he not take cash. I figured it was a weird legal thing maybe, but he had to run our card three times before it worked. I got a text message from my bank the second we got out of the taxi saying my card had been attempted twice for $300 (and declined both times). So he only ended up getting the appropriate fare amount of around $6, but I had to have my card canceled due to the fraud attempts.
The app should allow you to report a driver, but I couldn’t figure out how. The app also does not let you do anything other than leave a review for the driver, but once you’ve left a review, you can’t change it.Show lessRosieJ1986
This app is a joke
Even though the app calculates your route and follows where you go via GPS, it still has the driver manually enter the fee at the end of the ride, so the driver can still try to rip you off. The whole point of an app like this is that it simplifies the task of getting a taxi and thwarts dishonest cab drivers. Until the entire trip is handled automatically within the app, including all aspects of metering, charging, and payment, so that the driver can’t manipulate the fee, there isn’t really a difference between being scammed by a taxi driver and being scammed by a taxi driver who uses this app.
