Unbelievably frustrating
For a company to have such a poorly designed app on the market is astonishing, unstable functionalities & poor connectivity, you will experience frustration like never before trying to set this up!

Fixed Alexa Integration; eventually
Hi guys,
Just like everyone else, my Alexa integration broke a few days ago. I’ve spent hours trying to fix it, & eventually found a solution. I’d tried all the standard things to no avail; Alexa integration disable/enable, reboot Hub, etc.
This fixed it for me:
Disable the Harmony Alexa skill first.
1. Install My Harmony desktop software for Windows on a laptop ( not desktop, it must have WiFi).
2. Login to your account.
3. Select your device.
4. Click Settings
5. Click Update Software.
6. Click “Having trouble? Recover your remote and hub.
7. Follow the process to the letter, firstly plugging your hub into the laptop using a micro USB cable, then your Harmony remote (the Elite will plug in to USB at its base). The software will also update the firmware if needed, & will reset the devices.
8. Uninstall the Harmony iOS app & re-install.
9. Setup the hub using the Harmony app. I had problems with my ubiquiti WiFi here & had to connect direct to the router. NB: Both phone & hub need to be on same WiFi.
10. Enable the Alexa skill, authorise & link.
11. The remote should resync when in its cradle.
Best of luck!

Does not deserve the bad rap
I will admit that setting it up was a bit harder work than I anticipated as I had to do some manual “fettling” of the sequences to get it to work as I wanted, especially timings as some devices automatically switch on others through HDMI, so getting the right devices to come on first was crucial, but nothing that a bit of experimentation didn’t cure. I am controlling an Apple HD TV, Panasonic Blu Ray, Samsung TV, venerable Yamaha DSP-A1 amp and Sky Q box all with no trouble and the entire family use the app and remote with no issues, before that would be 5 remotes and a raft of instructions from me if they wanted to watch Apple TV when they had been watching Sky. I am an electronic engineer, so maybe I am used to not needing to be guided through every step, but in my opinion, Logitech have done their best to make it as easy as they can do, bearing in mind the amount of devices it supports and all the possible scenarios users might want. No technical know-how is needed, just some logical thought, patience and the knowledge that it might take you an entire evening to get it running as you want. Remote, Hub and app fully deserve 4 stars in my opinion.

Life Changing
So, I may be different than most users, but I think this app is awesome! I suffer from MS, I no longer have use of my arms. I am able to use my iPhone by using a stylus I hold in my mouth. This app is the only way I can control my TV, Stereo, DVD/VHS Player and Computer. I was already familiar with Harmony Remote Controls and their Activities-Based operation, so my learning curve was admittedly a shallow one. I was able to easily find all of my components in their extensive library. Setup was straightforward and logical given my experience with similar products.
Once I learned how to edit buttons and upgraded to an iPad (larger screen to manipulate with my stylus) the app became incredibly useful (I’ve changed my review to 5 stars). I had some issues with a stereo system and the good folks at Harmony got in touch with me and we sorted things out, Now I’ve purchased a Hisense smart TV, and found that the app’s commands for <mute> and <home> don’t work properly. I have no doubt they’ll be in touch soon…

Works Fantastic modernize old equipment.
This app match with the Harmony Elite and an AppleTV works fantastic. You don’t need the Apple TV but if you have older av equipment that isn’t smart an AppleTV makes modern day media access work trouble free. This app enables you to control all your old equipment that isn’t on the network over your WiFi network from your smartphone or tablet.
Have that iPad or your iPhone that is in your pocket, “can’t find the remote” is no longer a problem. The app walks you through setup via onscreen instructions. You don’t touch the harmony remote at all. First step is crucial make sure harmony hub is connected to the same WiFi network as your smartphone. WiFi signal must be strong. Place Router for optimum signal distribution or if it’s older than 6 years you might want to replace for a mimo/beam forwarding router.

Just avoid it
User interface is still slow and unintuitive, even on brand new hardware.
I don’t use activities as no matter how much I’ve tried, it will not turn my TV on, causing me to have to use the “fix” function, yet when the TV is turned on from the devices tab, it turns on fine first try.
Fair enough, just use the devices tab then, but you can never make the app open devices first and will always open on activities even if there are no activities to show.
With the death of the OSX app, and being forced to use this, just buy anything else. You’ll be less frustrated.

Would like a little more Interface flexibility
Hi guys, enjoying the app as it's made accessing my TV another entertainment systems fun again (I'm quadriplegic and using Remote controls is not an option), after struggling with a lot of really bad Remote apps that are available out there.
But the thing that annoys me most is how it defaults to activities which I do not want to have to use. Instead I just wanted to open on Devices and let me press buttons the old school way. I find activities to be unreliable in any case!

Dreadful app score: minus 5 - use desktop version instead
iPad Harmony app is just utterly utterly awful. Took over an hour of faffing about trying to simply connect to new wi-fi router - just impossible. Able to do on desktop without much issue. This is the most non-user friendly app I’ve ever used. Now got 2 versions of same user on app & have no idea which is right & if connecting to wrong one will undue all the painful work getting the unit to work in first place. Oh, & ‘long press to forget...’ etc? Does nothing! Worse than useless. Shockingly bad.

10+ years Harmony customer
Because of the quality of the management software, I would use any other product if it existed. I hate setting up my Harmony config, and there are pointless arbitrary restrictions on device count, and everything is SO SLOW and talks to the cloud way too much, and breaks and goes down a lot, and can result in not being able to control your tv with your remote when there are connectivity issues, which is absurd. I work in product, and I think the way Logitech treats Harmony is unconscionable. I can’t believe they think it’s ok to put out broken junk and charge an arm and a leg. But yeah, it’s still pretty much the only game in town for controlling a bunch of things with a remote. Oh yeah, the light brightness controls don’t work. Worked for like a day. Can’t add my new HDMI switch. Can’t update my volume control preferences. Randomly stopped turning off my tv when I hit the power button a few days ago. No idea why. I have been a customer of Harmony products for over 10 years, and I really resent how my self and my time and my money have been treated by this company and this product team. Shame. Shame. Shame. Not cool.

Poor app
The remote works fine, but unfortunately the app is not great. It’s not too user friendly and some of the complication might come from the way the app uses its own design instead of using an iOS style experience.
Buggy: one example - when programming in a long routine, the app often fails to remember the button commands, and when moving them up and down in the list, sometimes ignores the ordering you set.
The Home Screen widget needs to be updated to the new style.
