Chinese piece of crap

Ring was working fine for a couple weeks and all of sudden I keep getting Network Failure for no reason. My internet is working fine, it is the same network the ring & app have been on since I purchased it.

Have deleted the app, disconnected the ring from my phone and still nothing.

Have turned my phone off & on several times to no avail.

Worked for maybe a week?

Stop connecting to the internet after, just gives up and says network failure every 15 seconds, almost like they’re laughing at you, tried at the grocery, at a cafe, at home both WiFi and on cell data, no luck, then restarted phone and even re downloaded app, now not only shows network failure but doesn’t even log in anymore, cool gives me more of a reason to throw this in the trash

App was down for network failure

On a fifth day of wearing the ring and the app was down with a message saying network failure. I was so frustrated because there’s no way that I could verify if RingConn server was down or if something is not working right on my device while my internet connection is good and all other apps are working just fine. There could have been a better way to communicate or verifying the connection issues. There is absolutely no communication supports or channel to get help from. I like the ring but please urgently working on improving the app asap!

Impressed, once received.

I was disappointed at how long it took to get the ring and I nearly cancelled it a couple of times. Glad I didn’t. Ring and App work really well together and collect a lot of data and present it in many ways. My wife has a competitor ring where the app is not free, data not so available at all and there is all sorts of unnecessary feel good stuff with it. Sure it was developed on the left coast. This app reports numbers and facts that can be found quickly and easily. Good Job. Now will the sensors be able to read blood pressure and glucose levels like some watches?
I didn’t mention the charging case-streets ahead of competitor, and a push message when charged.

App could be much better

As far as RingConn vs Aura, my wife has Aura, and there isn’t much of a difference, both apps are ok. For workouts, stick with a watch - The RingConn app is no where near as great as the Apple Watch - it does not organize the date into an easy to read summery, but the data is all there - so unless you want to get out your spreadsheet it’s not very helpful. For sleep, the RingConn does a good job, and if this is why you want it than go for it. Who is to say if the Apple Watch is accurate (?) but if it is than the RingConn is not accurate with its heart rate measurements during workouts - generally it’s in the right realm but at peak work out it reads quite low compared to the Apple Watch. This could be because it only tracks every 5 minutes and perhaps it’s not getting my peak heart rate moments. The Apple Watch you can record specific workouts like yoga, hockey, interval training etc. The RingConn you’ll have to just look at the hours.

Graphs could be better and data summaries for workouts could be improved. Hopefully accuracy will get better. Should you get this? If you want to track sleep and not wear a bulky watch than yes, I don’t think you’ll get a better product or app with any other smart ring.

For workshouts definitely get a smart watch they are just far more sophisticated at the time of this review.

No background data sync if I don’t open

I need to keep opening the app every few hours so that ring can talk to app and initiate sync which defeat the purpose of all the health timeline, widget and notifications they introduce as if I don’t open the app it doesn’t sync ring or if I open the app in evening what is the meaning of notification from past events.

Please run the app in the background and authorize refresh, and enable the notification permission. When the ring is with the phone, the data can be updated in the background.

RingConn app (PeteLewis)

Been using this app since 1 February 2022 and received the RingConn ring same date Initially there were a few bugs in app missing data ,sleep loss data, etc but since 2 updates and a third due any day this should improve readings, the new update will incorporate apple health ( this will be a great bonus ) sleep data was still a bit inconsistent, but next update says it will be resolved, manual sleep time editing and 24 hour clock plus airplane mode and first day of week functions will be great addition in next update The app itself runs very slick and readings show for seven days Overall a really smooth running app no glitches or failing encountered and RingConn themselves listen to feedback from app and fix any other issues arising
As a further update in Aug 2023 a lot of work has progressed in the app live widgets have been added - sleep has vastly improved with naps and shift workers pattern, athletic mode is due sept/ October, many new functions are due inc a health timeline to mark any points in app, overall this ring improves with every update and there is No Subscription Ever
Highly recommend this app and ring to everyone
