  • Wonderful app!

Last year I spent probably at least $1800 throughout the year on personal training/gym programs, and it was just not sustainable financially or wasn’t really helpful in the way I needed. I purchased grounds when it first launched and then in January I started using it more religiously, and I gotta say, it’s been a game changer for me. It’s a fraction of the cost of what I spent last year, and it does all the thinking for me as far as workouts is concerned. I pick a program or an on-demand workout and just follow the prompts. I recently started tracking my diet as well on there to make sure I can see results. Make no mistake - you will still be in the driver’s seat of your results, you still have to show up, but once you show up, you just press “start” and follow the program. They’re consistently updating and adding new things. 10/10 do recommend
  • Love it…But there are some things…

Love the app and that there are so many different workouts to choose from! My reason to take one star off is when I pause the workout to get to another site temporarily, it doesn’t let me resume the workout to where I was, instead it restarts the whole app and I have to go searching through and swipe through exercises to get to where I was at in the workout. Also I would love to change the reps to show where I failed on the workout. Lastly, it would be nice to make notes during the workout and to change out the exercises during the workout should the original exercise become difficult to do. It’s minor things that would make this app go a long way. But overall, great material!
  • Good idea but a lot of work

I love this idea having an all-in-one app, however this app needs a lot of improvements before it’s work paying $20/mo or a yearly subscription. There isn’t an Apple Watch app or any type of heart rate tracking feature. A generalized count of calories burned doesn’t work because everyone is different, even if we all weigh the same. Personally, I have a lower resting heart rate so it takes more to increase my HR and burn more calories. Also, there is no ability to move around exercises if something isn’t available. You can’t make adjustments (dumbbell RDL instead of barbell RDL) or look at the home page of the workout. This seems more like a push to get an app out vs making an app worth the money. There are many other features missing that other fitness apps have. I wanted to love this app I will be unsubscribing.

  • Disappointing

I went all in and pre ordered this app mainly because of all the incredible women involved in the making of this app. I also was prepared to pay the price for the app because it’s a one stop shop for everything you need.
My problem with the app is the unfortunate difficulty using the app. Mainly the period tracker being an issue. Navigating the workouts can be frustrating especially if you have a home gym.
Now as of lately there was an update that completely cleared all data that had been saved. As someone who relies on the cycle tracker to ensure I don’t get pregnant and know when my period is, I’m incredibly frustrated and disappointed that all my info is gone.
I will try to continue to utilize the rest of the one year subscription that I already paid for. Hopefully they won’t clear all the data again.
  • No customer service & not good workouts!!!

I would like to say that this is the middle of February and I have been trying to get in touch with the customer service department since the third day in January. I have tried emailing I have tried so many different ways to reach out to get help and I have not heard anything back. Keep in mind that we are now going on the eighth time I have tried to get in touch with them. also, when I was able to successfully get in for a whopping one hour to look at the app, I was severely disappointed, because not only is there only one home workout… But the workout is not one that comes with modifications, nor abilities to get in contact with anybody if you have any questions. The way that this app what came out of the gate was that it was going to be such an inclusive and helpful one and it has not lived up to that at all . But most of all… You cannot get in touch with anybody at this freaking organization. Do not waste your time. Now all I have to do is figure out how to cancel that and of course… Still can’t get any customer service.

  • 3 Stars but Potential for 5!

workouts should not be on autotimer
option to view workout overview/summary after starting
not a lot of challenge options yet especially for “at home” each trainer only has 1
programs should auto populate or auto swap workouts based on my selected equipment.
for example: one challenge requires a long band so instead of forcing me to permanently swap out by exercise, should auto do it by equipment
Reps and weight at top of screen instead of small at the bottom
would be nice if each exercise description include which main and secondary muscles it works
ability to add meals once already selected
would be nice to structure it like myfitness pal since the idea is to replace it
if cant auto pop workouts/challenges by equipment add alternates in description: for example plate exercise sub
timed exercises need to have a 3-5 second pre start timer to allow you to get set.
should be able to adjust number of sets
be able to filter On Demand programs by “At home”. Even if u select minimal equipment that will still bring up gym equipment
All upper body days should include core
overall it’s a good app with great potential. In all honesty if they would add all the features FitBod and MyFitnessPal utilize, it would be the perfect app. At this time, I do not feel I am getting more value by leaving FitBod app however, I trust Heidi’s dedication to Grounds and I will try it again in 6 months to see the updates.

  • Love it!

Overall, I am so happy with this app. I always struggled with consistent routines & this has been so helpful in providing me the actual exercise, how long/often to do them, and changes weekly!

Some things I hope to see changed/updated in the future:

    1. The volume of my music lowers when watching a preview of the exercise or when starting the actual workout. I usually have to skip ahead to the rest & then go back for the volume to go back to normal.

    2. I love that we have the ability to change out the exercises before starting the workout but it would be AMAZING to be able to do this DURING the workout. Sometimes I’m at a busy gym & can’t do a specific exercise because the machine is broken or I don’t have access to it.

    3. Following up on the previous point, I would love it if we could see an “overview” of the full workout plan WHILE in the workout mode. As mentioned previously, certain machines might not be available at the time I’m “supposed” to do the exercise but I don’t know what exercises come after. Having this ability would help that way I can fill that time & then go back to that one specific exercise when I can.

Hopefully this all makes sense! If these were to update, I would be even happier with the app!

Thank you for sharing your experience and valuable suggestions with us! We're thrilled to hear that Grounds has been instrumental in helping you maintain consistent routines. Your feedback regarding volume control during exercises, the ability to change exercises during a workout, and having an overview of the entire workout plan while in workout mode is incredibly helpful. We completely understand the importance of seamless functionality, especially in busy gym environments, and we're already looking into ways to address these points in future updates. Your insights are greatly appreciated, and we're committed to improving your experience. Thank you for your support and enthusiasm!
  • Pleasantly surprised!!

I was actively working out 6 days a week on top of an already active lifestyle (hiking/biking/etc). We moved remotely for the winter and I needed an option for home workouts as I am limited on days I can spend in the gym. I was skeptical on how the app would work and if it would be challenging enough. I am on week 2 of the burn challenge and I am surprised at how sore I am from week 1! I also enjoy the period tracking and reminding me that it is normal to have low energy during certain “phases.” I also really love the detailed descriptions to perfect form as this is often an area people struggle in. Nice work ladies! Loving the app 🧡💛
