I really love having a more dedicated art social free from AI, but three things: let me follow tags PLEASE, let me organize my likes into folders or something, and please make a dedicated UI format thing for iPad screens. A lot of artists use iPads and tablets and stuff and it would be nice to be able to go on Cara and have it actually fit the size of the screen I’m on. (Also in general loading times on this are pretty slow so it’d be nice to fix that). Otherwise I think this app has a lot of potential and I’m excited to see how it evolves
I never write reviews but I had too. I really appreciate this app and how it’s built and designed for artists and especially artists against AI! This is definitely such a good platform to share your art and you don’t even have to worry about ai bots and ai stealing your work or people claiming your hard work as ai!!! It’s perfect and I think it’s one of the best apps out there for artists and I can’t wait to see it grow!!!!
I love the app so far and I know it isn’t perfect since it’s a small team working it, only problem is that sometimes when I try to press post it’ll say unexpected error at the bottom of the screen. After so many times of trying to make a post, sometimes it just does it randomly. The same goes for when you try to save your profile when you update say a profile picture or your bio.
I joined Cara with great expectations, however, reality isn’t that great. Yes: slow, errors, art just disappearing when tapping on the posts…
My biggest concern is search tab. With so many creators joining app and uploading their art, you give us just ~50 search results?? I can refresh ‘discover’ search (which mostly shows already big accounts with hundreds/thousands likes). Different story with ‘new’ search: I have to close app forcefully if I want to refresh this search. Basically, I’m stuck with big accounts on my feed and search. Not beginners/newbies friendly.
Other thing: issues with trying to describe portfolio and choose a medium: everytime I try to scroll down and reach (for example) ‘procreate’ option, the list just drops me off to the first options. And typing option doesn’t work.
I really hope these (and other small) issues are just temporary.
I still can’t get upload any of my arts. I have tried over and over but it’s still do nothing. Also it can’t even show avatar picture and I couldn’t change anything in settings. And I don’t want to complain about these because the app is still Beta version but I wish you guys could fix and can’t wait to use this app in its full version. Since this will be safe space for artist so I’m glad that you guys did this app. Thanks for reading this and hope you guys have a nice day Xx
To others, yes it’s slow; It’s in BETA. Thousands on thousands of new users just joined the app; the dev team couldn’t have predicted this much traffic all at once. They’re doing great. This app is amazing. I’m in love with its format, and it’s intended purpose. A place for artists and art without any of the drama or politics or toxicity other places carry lots of. As it grows, i’m sure this app will flourish and run great. Can’t wait to see it at full capability and the see the rest of the new user base get comfortable too. :)
Loving the app so far no issues and so easy to connect with fellow artist I’ve known on other platforms but as a suggestion I think it would be cool to add a reel feature so artist could get more engagement through uploading videos either talking about there art, showing the process of making there art, showing examples of products from there businesses and other things.
I love the concept and features of cara, but it is VERY laggy and takes forever to load on my mobile phone, it took forever for one of my drawings to post. Tells me there’s a server error or it just didn’t work and it takes forever load in on my profile, I had to log out and log in to see it. and it takes forever to look at others profiles It’s really difficult to use, and I’m never on the app very long before I get frustrated and leaving
The concept is GREAT. I just hope they fix the lag and the bugs 💔
The app itself and how it functions is great, the community is awesome. It would be my new favorite posting site but the loading time takes forever. I'll sit there waiting for a search result or someone's profile to load for like 5 minutes and then end up with a 'loading error' after everything.
I am assuming this is because a lot of people are moving to Cara and the servers hosting it aren't able to keep up (similarly to how Art Fight crashes on the first day of launch). I trust this issue will be resolved eventually, but until then I cannot give a higher review.
Ive tried a couple of art based social media apps that have popped up with the decline in quality (and ethics) of other top contender sites. Maybe it’s the timing, but I’m so excited to see so many familiar faces joining Cara! It’s a testament to the developers great values and community engagement.
I’m an animator by trade, so I’m looking forward to support for embedded video posts. Even with that, I really recommend any creatives no matter your discipline signing up and joining the caraverse 👏👏
