its my 2nd day of using this application and its going quite well! i was able to interact with new artists, however there are some flaws that are needed to be fixed:
- category between the home page & following page; the people that i follow seem to appear in the home section, making it quite useless with the “following” sector. it pretty much blocks out the potential to find other artists. (exclude the discovery oge)
- slow & laggy - it would take a lot of time to load when; posting, liking, commenting etc. however, by assumption there are probably a lot of people downloading the application at the same time.
- repetitiveness - ive been seeing the same posts back to back in my feed. for ex: i will like a post, but then it’ll reappear over and over again.
overall i hope you all will take the time to read my review and fix the issue as soon as you can. i wish your team with the best of luck as i see a LOT of potential for this app to grow!! ☆
i love this app. is it completely perfect? no. & is there more that can be done? yes! but considering the developers been paying out of pocket to create this and it isn’t made by some big corporation with a fat budget, i’m impressed that they’re doing what they can as well as so grateful for going out their way to deposit their working money into what started out small (& still relatively is) but is growing & becoming more of a safe space for artist. for what it is so far, it beats instagram for me to share my art. personally, it’s more peaceful, there’s no A.I or meta, and i get to look at other people’s art.. ALL types of art & that’s all i see. art made by people! i love the mixture of former twitter & instagram as well. i love that it’s safe for work & appropriate for artists’ of all ages as well. every-time i look through comments it’s very supportive of one another & it’s a breath of fresh air. art is to be seen by everyone including an audience of who isn’t artists, i get that, but it’s just nice to still be around former ones. that being said, i appreciate the joy this app brought to me. thanks cara team! work hard & i will support you in this project (ik it won’t be cheap especially with the way people’s been coming through loool). excited for future features; what you have so far is great.
Considering the sudden influx of people its no surprise that servers are lagging and glitches are making themselves apparent! That being said, heres my dream additions!:
-Allowing photos to be posted in the replies of a post instead of only through quote posts
-An eventual layout for tablets! Right now its only for phones
-Clicking on a comment in notifcations and having it jump to that comment rather than the overall post it was from
-Pinned timeline posts
-App specific emotes (like how tiktok has a few!)
-Fundraiser season like AO3 for users to support the company so we can avoid having to resort to advertizers!
Thanks to the Cara team, and to everyone leaving one star reviews for glitches and slow load times, its a beta that got flooded with 300,000 people of course its gonna be wonky and slow for a bit!
Im going to be looking forward to seeing the progress this app makes with it's platform. there are a lot of great ideas and with instagram moving forward with using people's posts for training AI, Im seeing a mass migration of artists over here and Im very glad to see it.
that being said, this platform clearly wasn't ready to grow as big as it has as quick as it has. it's very slow and has a lot of network errors that prevent me from posting anything at all on it. there are also a lot of small UI annoyances that make it hard to want to use, like Im fighting the app just to use it.
I know it's still in beta though and Im really hoping everything gets really streamlined and starts to work well. I could see this potentially becoming the best platform for artist if they play their cards right.
I was very excited to join this new platform for art content creators. However, the first thing I noticed was that the app itself is incredibly slow and laggy. Nothing loads fast in my feed. In the discover section there are only a few rows of posts and then no other posts load.
Looking over some other reviews it seems that this is not just a personal problem but a problem with the app itself. Hopefully this can be addressed in the future!
I feel like this app has a lot of potential and I feel like this app has an amazing concepts, but the lagginess and the bugs is taking away from the experience a little. I understand that this app just recently got exponential amount of new users, but I feel like if this app wants to captivate people and if they want to sustain the publicity they have as of now they need to work on the speed and the bugs on this app otherwise, this app is really really good for artists and I’d love to see it improve.
I saw that other artists were moving to this app to share art and I set up an account. I had small issue with my pfp not loading in but I fixed it. My trouble came when I went to make a post. When I tried to post my work, not only did the app immediately crash, but my phone became very laggy. There was almost a 10 second delay in between actions and I struggled to even turn the phone back on. I slogged my way to closing the app completely before deleting it. I have never had that happen before with any app. It was worth a shot I guess.
This is clearly a great app that’s suddenly getting flooded, the team seems to be constantly working on it now that so many people are flooding in! So stick around and wait for issues to be fixed! It’s a bit laggy and has errors at times, but I’m sure that’s from such a sudden influx of people. GREAT potential don’t pass it up!
I really like this platform so far and I think it’s one that can actually stick around. My only issue with it is that it’s slow but I think with time that will be resolved as it grows, but it’s very clearly made with artists in mind and i really love that. I also wonder though how inclined non artists will be to use the platform?
This app is overall very nice, clean, easy to use, and it’s policies on AI are wonderful! I’m planning on switching my art acc to here from Instagram shortly. My only critique would be that it can be a little slow even on the best wifi, and sometimes comes up with error messages when you try to switch tabs. I’m not very concerned though as I know it is a new app in beta and is being updated regularly, so I’m expecting really great things very soon!
