  • Terrible

    This is honestly one of the worst apps I have ever used. We have a car loan, do not wish to enroll in automatic payments bc we like to pay early. When we went to submit it said if we pay now, a second payment would STILL be deducted on the pay date. What? Why can’t I just make a one time payment early? We could not figure out how to unenroll and my husband had to go to the bank to do it.
    We then wanted to make a one time payment on our loan and the only option we could find was to enroll back into the automatic payments. Why can’t we just make a one time payment through the app without enrolling in auto draft?? My husband has had to physically go to the bank the last two months to make a payment. If there is a way, it’s not at ALL user friendly or easy to find.
    I can’t think of a single app that operates in this way. It’s highly inefficient and extremely time consuming to have to go to the physical location to pay every month. Please make it better!

  • Can’t see memo/description for transfers

    My family has a number of accounts and transfer regularly between them, and now we can’t see the descriptions for what each transaction is meant for in the app. This seems like an obvious field to include and was displayed in the old app but not the new. Now we’re in the dark.

    I do, however, like that we can finally use the app to transfer between external accounts. That’s an improvement.

  • App Is Unusable

    Everything about this app change has made banking with VACU worse. It’s harder to find information, harder to move money between accounts, and by far the worst - essentially impossible to see what’s going on with your account. The available balance and current balance almost NEVER match the actual transactions displayed in the accounts, and things come out in a different order (sometimes by days) than they are displayed to the user in the app. This situation caused me to accidentally overdraft and I had to argue with a manager for an hour and threaten to file a complaint with screen shots proving my point before the charges were reversed “as a courtesy”. I have been a customer of VACU for something on the order of twenty years and for the first time I am STRONGLY considering taking my business elsewhere.

  • Please go back to the old app

    The previous version was better in every way. The most striking negative change on this new version is how difficult it is to pay on my line of credit. The feature seems to be hidden. I figured it out a few times, but it takes me about five to ten minutes each time to go through the menus and figure out how to do it again. I’m a young digital native user who spends too much time online, and this is one of the worst designed apps I’ve ever seen.

  • Will never use VACU again.

    I have tried 4 times to verify external accounts so I can pay down my loan. Every single time there’s an issue. First my external accounts simply wouldn’t show up. Now that I finally have it showing up after numerous calls, my internal accounts won’t show up in the transfer options. This is intentional so they make more money on your interest by not allowing you to pay down your loan. Worst institution I’ve ever dealt with. Will never use again. I can’t wait to pay off my loan and leave them forever.

  • Fix mobile deposit

    Love the additional features. Love the layout. Hate how awful mobile deposit has become. It shouldn't be so difficult. Proper lighting with plain background and clean signature and it takes no less than a dozen times to get it done. Get better AI or whatever is needed to make it flawless like the old app. Will change rating once that's fixed.

  • Old app was superior to this version

    The new VACU app isn’t great. It has the aesthetic and functionality of a website from the early 90s, not an app created in 2024. The app is clunky and awkward. I’m tired of having to close the green pop up, at the top, every time I log in. The mobile deposit feature is subpar compared to the previous version of VACU app. Just pick one place to have the main tabs instead of having it at the bottom or to swipe left for a side bar menu as well as a ‘more’ button in the top right hand corner…

  • No Dark Mode

    Dark mode would be nice. The app isn't very useful or legible with an ipad mini 6. Not bad for a credit union app.

    Savings and checking interest rates are terrible. VACU currently offers 0.5% on Savings. It's not a good place to keep an emergency fund or reserve. Other financial services offer nearly 10 times that rate or more, e.g., ally, discover, amex, fidelity, schwab, and several others. Like most credit unions these days, VACU is essentially just a lending service.

  • No Dark Mode, and no way to manage recurrent transfers

    Dark mode would be nice. The app isn't very useful or legible with an ipad mini 6. It's a little better with iphone 11 and later. Please provide dark mode.

    Transfers seem like an after thought in both the mobile and web apps. Transfer information is hidden in a side bar gadget, with extremely limited information, and a tiny bit of additional information further hidden in a drill down clickthrough for individual items. It's not conveying much information, and it adds a lot of tedium.

    Transfers are an important feature in banking. Unfortunately, it seems like transfer information and recurrent transfer scheduling are low priority in the app's design and development. I'm not in the app to play games and have fun. I need to see my financial information displayed in a clear manner. Just show all transfer information on a single page in tabular format.

    Providing the ability for creating and managing recurrent transfers in the mobile app would also be nice.

    Hello. Thank you for your membership and feedback. To make a recurring transfer, go to Transfer & Pay > Deposit Account Transfers, and then make sure to select the appropriate option in the Frequency dropdown menu.

    I thought folks were over exaggerating when they were making reviews when I needed to download the app due to the upgrade. However,I found out today when trying to make a simple loan payment that was much easier to do using the older app, that functionality has now been removed (aggravated). I am now forced to being inconvenienced to call member services in the morning to set up bill pay. This should already be offered in the app.. whereas other apps like Wells Fargo don’t have issues like this…
