    This new VACU app is so bad that, in conjunction with the VACU Manage Cards app, I am here to write my first app review, ever. I can’t imagine they did any significant user testing. Half the features don’t work, the ones that do are clunky as heck or just take you to a webpage that doesn’t work, the graphics are bizarre. It’s cluttered, it’s crammed. The More button is useless and redundant.

    Users often initially react negatively to app changes/upgrades because change takes adjustment. I hope VACU realizes the feedback they are getting is not because of change hate, but because the app truly blows.

    I wish we could bring back the old app when you still had the feature to redeem cash back in it. It was simple but it worked and had all I needed in a banking app.

  • What the heck just happened?!

    How is it possible that I can’t even make a transfer to pay down my LOC? I went in to select an account to transfer to, and the only option I have for the transfer is to my savings account? This makes no sense. I have had a credit card and an LOC with VACU since 1998. You all were one of the nicest most people centric places I have ever banked, but I will close everything if you can’t get this transfer issue sorted out. If the money is in my checking, I should be able to move it to any other VACU account I have, unless it’s a CD. If I could give this app a zero, I would!’

    Hello, and thank you for your feedback. You can still transfer funds to your LOC (or other loans or credit cards) by selecting the menu at the bottom > Transfers & Payments > Credit Card & Loan Payments. That will give you more options. Hope that helps!
  • Sorry

    Every time VACU tries to implement a new app, it’s been a train wreck. While this new iteration is functional, it is not refined like the old one which is no longer in service. Slow, ugly, and difficult to navigate. It feels like it’s just a portal to their website. I appreciate that they’re trying to implement features other banks have given customers for a long time but this isn’t how you do it.

  • Give it time

    I have been with VACU for 25+ years. They have always provided excellent service. This recent update is starting slowly but I have no doubt that it will be just as seamless as we are all accustomed to. We all just need to be patient…..

  • Great app! Learning curve, but so far so good!

    No one likes change, but give this app a chance. You can do so much more from this app then the last one. I know VACu is still working out some issues, but so far I am impressed!

  • Terrible

    The old app was much more streamlined and simple to use. This new app looks worse, and is not user friendly. You can’t just transfer funds from one account to another anymore. Now you have to open the menu to select transfer funds in order to do so. Why did you create an app that is harder to use? Your customer service center is going to get a ton of calls now to try to figure out how to use this silly thing.

  • Issue: Balance Transfer From Apple Pay

    Never had an issue with Apple Pay Instant Transfer until this new update. It won’t update my current balance after transferring my to my account. What’s up with that??

    The new app/web design took us back to the early 2000s. Go back to the old app or get a modern design asap. Please add the Current Balance button back to the app start page for convenience so we don’t have to log in every time.

    Hello, and thank you for your membership and feedback. For Apple Pay Instant Transfer, please contact Apple Support if it is still not showing. To get your Current Balance to show without logging in, you can set that up by going to the menu at the bottom > Settings > Mobile Quick Balance Enrollment.
  • Horrible “upgrade”

    I’d love to know how much money was wasted on this “improvement” to the VACU mobile app. It’s so much worse in every way than the old app (which was clearly not designed in-house; it looked just like my other credit union app). I have been banking with Virginia Credit Union as my primary bank and sole checking account for over 30 years. Now I am moving my accounts elsewhere so I don’t have to deal with this horrible user experience. My suggestion to product design, management, et al: cut your losses and bring back the previous app design, it’s going to save you a lot of customers in the near- and long-term. if you can’t bring yourselves to do that, then you need to hire a whole new team to redesign and fix everything. This app is a HOT MESS.

  • Huge disappointment

    The new app is worse than the old one making you have to work harder to make payments to loan accounts and cards. It used to be as easy as clicking the account and make payment. Now you have to go to the menu then payments and transactions select loan and credit payments then make your payment. Improvements are supposed to make the app easier to use not add more steps than before and make it harder.
