Doesn’t work at all
I have never written a review before but this app is very frustrating. I tried to add funds and it came up with an error message. So I tried again and it worked. Come to find out I was charged double so it had gone through the first time but still gave an error message. Then when I went to use the funds, I kept clicking pay and it wouldn’t go through - tried using WiFi and cellular. I ended up giving up on the app and called to get a refund. It wasn’t working on the worker’s end so she suggested I withdraw the funds through the app. I was charged £2 for withdrawing. Idiotic - especially considering the reason I’m withdrawing the funds is because the app wasn’t working in the first place. I resolved to use the Circuit wall installation but now that’s not working either. Overall, I’m sorry to say I don’t see many positives to this service.

Do not use this app
As I suspected, there are many people who have either lost balances from the previous app or had admin fees deducted when asking for refunds. I'd rather spend £35 on an online claim for breach of contract than let this company keep my money. If you absolutely must use this laundry, pay with a bank card. You don't need ths app to use the machines.

Just payed £3.30 to wash my clothes and the machine wont even start i hope this company goes bankrupt id rate it 0 stars tbh even 1 is a bit generous i swear this app must have been designed by a year 8 computing student except even they could probably make a better working app than this company, praying for your downfall circuit laundry🙏🙏🙏

gives me brain damage every time.
absolutely disgusting, smelly washing machines that do not wash your clothes. i had to wash my clothes twice today because the washing machine left a mysterious brown residue all over them. apparently you need photographic evidence to get a refund. unfortunately, i didn’t think to take pictures of the tragedy because i was more preoccupied with marching all the way back to my flat to get two more detergent pods to rewash the clothes. ASTRONOMICAL prices. why am i paying £2.50 for the highest settings to get the dirt that the washing machine put all over my clothes out of my clothes? and the washing machines are so useless that half of it didn’t come out even on the highest settings, at which point i just shoved them in my suitcase to take home tomorrow to wash because i do not have the funds or the patience to wash my clothes using circuit laundry’s abysmal washing machines yet again. i hate you circuit laundry. you made me miss my lecture because i had to rewash my clothes because of your unmaintained machines. i will now be handwashing my clothes in my room. also the false advertising in the description of this app? in what world are you making doing the laundry ‘less of a chore’? i don’t think so, circuit. its just so shocking. why can’t i see how long is left on the machine??? i set a timer on my phone, sprint down to the laundry room to get my clothes the second the timer ends, and theres still five minutes left. outrageous.

Charged £20 instead of £2.90
Apart from the last time, the laundrette app has been working fine. Each time I’ve always selected high spin at 60°C for only a standard eco, which charges £2.90. I checked my balance this morning, and I’ve been charged £20 from Circuit Go, despite the fact that I’ve NEVER done anything but a standard eco wash. Furious that this has happened. If anyone in charge is reading this, I’d like a refund please. I will be taking this further if I continue to get charged more than double the amount I should be.

No Support
When issues come up, support takes about 40 minutes to locate your account. Sometimes they fail to locate the account, even when all provided information is accurate. A large amount of this time is spent waiting for responses that are often just another confirmation question (phone number, app, accommodation). Other than that, functionality is mostly complete.

Horrendous System
In the last 3 years I have been at university, there has been a new Circuit app every year. How difficult is it to update the existing app with new updates. In addition the concept of having to contact circuit themselves in order to transfer a balance from one app, to another is a joke.

Terrible system, why is Circuit still monopolising the UK accommodation laundry market
Machines are frequently disconnected from the online payment system, 3/7 days we just cannot do the laundry with the perfectly good machines which do not accept our payment. My Circuit account even stopped working when I got to a new site, had to register a new one just to top up (I wonder where my remaining top-up money goes? :-)
Also why is app is a necessary for us to use laundry service in the first place??
Horrible customer service, some of them don’t understand what may be done with their machines to rebuild connectivity at all. Circuit screws my life.

Downgrade
You aren’t able to monitor the time remaining on a wash and the timers on the machines aren’t reliable. When I set the wash, the machine displayed 40 minutes; I come back 40 minutes later and there’s still 24 minutes remaining. It makes absolutely no sense why this isn’t a feature from the start, since the machines are clearly internet connected.
There are so many parts of this app that make no sense and make doing the washing more of a chore. Incredibly disappointed and already fed up using it.

Good UI, but system design is stuck in 2005
First of all, the UIof this app is better than, at least, the Circuit Plus app. In addition, it works fine, functionally, so far.
Here is what I don’t like:
- too many Circuit apps which are incompatible. I already transferred funds to the Circuit Plus app, and I can only get them out for a £2 fee.
- unintegrated and insecure account and payment. Does not support apple pay. Does not support accurate autofill anywhere. Account is protected with a 4-number pin (I hope there is 2FA) (while hilariously Circuit Plus required a password with a lc letter, UC LETTER, a numb3r, and a spec!al character). It smells like a data breach waiting to happen.
Also, in general, the whole experience with Circuit has been so often confusing, broken (the stripe POS decided to disconnect randomly), and at best unintuitive — and I seem to be punished for every mistake — that the whole Circuit-hate bandwagon is by no means just a meme.
