Enough to drive a person mad

App works less frequently than it presents random technical issues, seemingly from poor ICT/security.

Issues preventing access or transfer of funds happen almost every time, and are enough to make wife and I consider switching back to a less ethical bank like NAB.

ME bank please please write this app off and build from the ground up. It's pleasing enough to view and the layout works OK, but the actual build of the app and the infrastructure it works with is one of the worst user experiences I've ever had.

It was great until it bugged

I’ve been using the app since it came out and rely heavily on it. One of the updates or something must have screwed up my log on because when I used my fingerprint it stopped and said that it was unauthorized (when nothing has changed), I could log in with my PIN but now it tells me to reset my PIN and when I try to it crashes the app. Now I have to do it the long way through the website. Please fix this!!

Okay but basics missing

The transfer account screen is a tad confusing. You think you are transferring money to the wrong account as it’s not clear with the arrow being the only indicator. Not very accessible.

Unable to contact you via the app. It says email but not clickable and only suggestion is to review your app, which makes it more likely your customers will leave a bad review considering they can’t even reach you.

Unable to add business accounts to app. Would need to delete entire app then reinstall every time. This isn’t feasible. At the very least I should be able to login to another account without having to uninstall the app each time. Or you should connect customers better.

The new layout looks better but be good if the basics were sorted.

3.2 feedback

Just updated to 3.2. Referring back to another earlier reviewer:
Account balances page still taken up by ME icon.
I like the black/white contrast of the transfer page, why isn’t this reflected in the other pages?
I also note that the log off action appears inconsistently on the other page, it is also annoying having to scroll down to log off , this action should be very apparent.

loving this app

just recently joined with ME bank and haven’t found any issues with the app. maybe the loading is a little slow but honestly not a big deal. looked at reviews of the app before joining and it made me slightly concerned but honestly have not experienced anything that anyone else has mentioned. personally this app works well for me and i’m quite happy!

The new UI is bad design

I don’t like the new interface design.
The old one is good enough, why do you need to change it?
Especially when doing money transfer between accounts. I select “from” account, then select “to” account, and then when it comes to the page where I need to key in the amount, it’s just a blank page. It didn’t show any account details or amount info. I forgot how much $ I have in my account, so I need to go back to see it.
That interface just make me insecure. I can’t see any account details when doing money transfer and I need to click to previous page to see it.
I don’t normally leave comment for app, this is the first time I actually feel I need to do this.

Good but has a frustrating issue

I've been using this for a couple of years now. I mostly like the app. However there are a couple of issues that continually cause frustration. The latest update to the login screen doesn't flow well. If you have face ID setup there is a lag between the passcode popping up and the face ID process starting. If you are in a hurry this is a problem. If face ID is setup, don't show the passcode option straight up.

The most frustrating issue concerns transferring money. You can't see any of the balances of the account you're transferring from. If you forget exactly how much you have you have to cancel the transfer, look at your balance again and then begin again.

V3.1 is slightly better, but still improvements to make

The graduation between fonts here, and your web interface, is too narrow (three shades of grey), making it more difficult to use for people with vision impairment. Please ensure you consider best practice in web accessibility for people with disabilities.

GOING BACKWARD: Previously, a user didn’t need to press “log in”. If they had Touch ID enabled, just touching home would login. Adding the steps a user must complete, is a step backwards.

GOING BACKWARD: Previously, a user could see a number of accounts on their Home Screen. Now, with the EXTRA LARGE ME logo, taking up previous screen space, only 2 accounts are visible without scrolling. I used to see 5 accounts in half my screen. Making a user scroll to see what they used to see on one screen, is a step backwards.

Thanks for returning a larger number of transactions able to be viewed. This appears to have returned to what it was.

I am definitely considering switching financial institutions because of the changes to customer interface.

We're committed to improving accessibility in the app and want to give you the freedom to increase the size and weight of the font in the app in line with your device settings. Old app was better

I now can only access last 5 transactions, have to open statements to see further back, but occasionally all transactions show. Have uninstalled and reinstalled to try and correct but still clunky. When adding new payee stars account number must be 8 digits long. Westpac accounts are 6 so cannot add payee via app must use website. Shame when bank website is fine and bank itself is great. Just crappy mobile app.

A lot slower

The new app looks slick but is much, much slower. It takes longer to open the app and log in, and simple tasks like checking my balance or making payments are also a bit slower. My main gripe is that the app has become completely unusable for tracking transactions, even very recent ones. I can no longer use the app to make sure payments have come in to my account or search for recent past transactions because it has slowed down to an unworkable speed - it’s taking more than ten minutes to load transactions that are less than a fortnight old. I now need to log in on a desktop, which is major step backwards. It’s very disappointing that that the app has slowed down and lost functionality to such a great extent.
