  • Wonderful idea

A great user-friendly app that allows you to do some good. Not only does the app allow you to do some good while you have those useless , weird searches (like the definition of word!), but the team behind it are extremely open and transparent with how they are spending their money and what projects they are working towards. Totally awesome app!

  • In Love!!!!

Not only are the graphics clean and simple, but this browser shows you how many trees they’ve planted with a live counter (amazing!!!!!), and updates you on stories across the world of ecosystems and people they are helping :) I’ve recommended this to all of my friends and the best part is that this is free! And helps the earth!!!! What’s better than that?!!!
One quick suggestion I would make is to allow multiple tabs to be open at once... Im a biology nerd and I usually like to learn about several related species at once, and it’s easiest for me to have different species in different tabs, but whenever I open a new one, the browser deletes the tab I was previously on ):
Thanks for creating such an easy-to-use app with such a great cause! I love it so much :)

  • Good cause but needs work

I really want to switch to using it as my main browser, but there are too many inconveniences with how the app is laid out.

I like to read things online, but when I close the app it doesn't have the page I am on saved. It will have a page I was on 10-15 pages ago open. This is frustrating when you just want to pick up where you left off: not tap through chapters trying to remember if you read that one.

Another issue related to the one above is that, because it does not open the most recent page, I have finished reading a book, moved on to a new one entirely - only to open the app and see I'm back on the book I already finished. This is particularly annoying because on the website I use there is a "randomise" button to find random books: so I have to re-find whatever book I was on.

There appears to be no history. All of the issues above could be solved if I could at least just go into my history and click the latest link: but I can't. It also seems to rewrite the history on a page, so that if you try to go back to find what you were on before it loaded; it will take you through different pages from your search history.

I want to use this app for everything, but as it stands it just doesn't compete with already existing browsers. It would probably function better as an extension on already-built browsers, or simply needs to step its game up.

  • Great Aims, Needs improvement.

I downloaded the app as I use the Ecosia search engine on the computer and support the idea behind the company, to raise money to plant trees. I had been using this app for a few months more but have recently gone back to using Google Chrome. As a consumer, I will use what is the most efficient for my needs. This App needs improvement, the extra adds don’t bother me as that is how they raise money, yet the format and layout of the App needs work. I hope it can be improved as I would love for my searches on my phone to contribute to conserving the environment.

  • Love this app!

Ecosia's system makes it easy to see where the money is being spent, planting trees and educating on conservation. The app is such an easy to use alternative and you don't have to compromise on quality. Love it so much!
  • Plant trees!

I installed and deleted Google's search app several times. It uses storage fast and I don't like the feeling of my every move being tracked and linked to everything else.

Ecosia takes up a lot less space. My every move might still be tracked across platforms, but at least something good comes from it. There's always the question, how do you know you're doing good? Google think they're doing good building the internet of things. But as someone who planted a lot if trees once said, planting trees was good in the past, and we thank those that planted the trees we see around us in our towns and cities. Planting trees still seems like a good idea now, and I bet that the people of the future will thank us for the trees we planted.

  • Amazing 💞

It's not too big of an adjustment from google or safari and it works just as easy
  • Best alternative

It works just as well as any other search engine. I would wager that it actually works better than google. Plus it's good to know that it's being put to good use for the planet :^)
  • Fantastic searching at

Overall this is a great app I recommend it to all my friends it goes to a great cause and does not go to a greedy corporations my Google or Yahoo. Whenever a Google something and brings up probably three ads and the money that the ads paid to be there go to a forest planting organization. It takes about 70 searches to plant one tree and I have planted probably 25 trees over the last year I had the app. So it's not like you're going to plan and tire for us but you are doing a major part for the ecosystem. The apps does not seem to crash I've never had a problem with it it is as easy to Google things as Google app. The only thing I do not like is I don't think there is a search history or I just cannot seem to find it. Overall I would recommend it to anyone, so give it a try.

  • Needs work

I've used this browser for quiet a while now and it needs work. Just googled "wildlife austria" and all my results came back with wildlife australia. And this is not the first time the results were less than accurate. The lack of a "forward" arrow is annoying because the browser is a little slow and sometime you just go too far back and you loose your results. I really want to love this app, but the results are just not there yet. Hope a new update will solve it. Sorry guys.
