  • Terrific for cross country solo trip with my boy!!

My golden Owen and I left from Upstate NY and traveled all the way to the coast of Oregon for over month and relied heavily on this quick way to locate dog friendly lodging, parks, things to do and places to eat. We even got disconnected two different times while I was on hold due to the crazy mountains we were in and each time one of the phone reps returned my call looking to see if we needed anything.

I want to stress that Bring Fido really needs us users to LEAVE UP TO DATE REVIEWS! So many people don’t take the few minutes to do this and a lot of the great places listed have only old reviews which are no longer accurate and can hurt the businesses. We all need to stick together as fellow dog people who love to travel with our pets and spread the word on great dog friendly places! I will be posting reviews for all of the places we visited during our epic adventure! Im afraid that after i get back home Owen will be giving me dirty looks for having just “mediocre” days.

We also purchased the Bring Fido RUFF Guide that they sell which highlights an awesome “to do” suggestion for a local business, trail, park, etc. along with a lodging suggestion for several towns throughout EACH state across the country. We had so much fun sniffing out many of these suggestions!

THANKS FOR ALL THE HARD WORK BRING FIDO TEAM!!

  • So helpful!

In preparation for our recent trip I spent quite some time looking for pet friendly hotels near our destination, trying to find the closest one with a decent rating at the cheapest price. After much frustration I finally remembered the BringFido advertisement I had recently seen and decided to try it. I found, and booked the perfect hotel within five minutes. It was so easy.
Then when we were close to our destination a day earlier than expected, BringFido helped me book an additional night in the same room so we didn’t have to change rooms for the two night stay. I didn’t have to do anything!
I have since downloaded the app and won’t attempt to make any future trips without going through BringFido. Thank you so much for your help.

  • Not really pet friendly

Front desk gentleman was very cordial, quick and considerate when asking about my pet and didn’t make a big deal or make me feel guilty (pet owners get this) and at $30 per stay (not per night) we considered it very fair. It seems most “guests” thought it prudent to let their room doors SLAM shut with no regard to others. While not Microtel’s fault, just making others aware. FYI: There were literally 18 oilfield pickup trucks in the parking lot. They arrived late and left very early-very little sleep was had in our room. Worse, my dog was beside herself with all the noise. Top that with no SAFE grass area to do her business on. Grass fronting the freeway, the parking lot, gravel curb beds, or two foot high weeds in the back of the hotel were our choices. Not really pet friendly, ‘cept the deposit and room rate. Ya get what ya pay for.

  • Only place I’ll be looking for hotels from now on.

I spent way too many hours looking through other apps to find a hotel that I could bring my dog. None of the other search sites let you filter for all the needs like 1) having a pet, 2) size of pet, 3) pet fees. I found myself finding a room, maybe being able to filter for a pet, then having to dig on the hotels website to try to find if they had a fee or size limitation. It was really tedious.

Enter BringFido—I was able to find a room SO fast and it was EASY. The price was excellent and so was the hotel. I am so so glad this app exists. Makes finding a place to stay when you have a pet no different than finding a hotel when you don’t have a pet. This app completely removes the ‘hurdle’ of bringing a pet along.

  • Beware of making reservations through BringFido!

We attempted to make two reservations through BringFido for two consecutive nights. The first reservation completed successfully. When I attempted to complete the second reservation, I received a pop up notification that the reservation did not complete and I needed to remake the reservation, which I did successfully a few minutes later. It was not until the next day that I received notification from the hotel that I had two rooms reserved, not one. I called the hotel, called BringFido, emailed BringFido, cancelled the incorrect hotel room, talked to the hotel (but was never able to talk to an actual manager), and was ultimately charged for two rooms. So we paid approximately $150 for a room that the Choice Hotel was then able to resell! BringFido refused to even consider that the problem was caused by their computer program and said basically “so sorry, but not our problem”. So my reply to them is “so sorry, but never again”!

  • Very useful

We used this app for a trip to Florida, three nights down & three back. Basically, the app takes a lot of hassle out of finding reasonably priced hotels that will take dogs at a not too extravagant fee. Most of the hotels are in or around the larger areas, and if you want to spend the time, you can probably research potential stopovers for yourself, but I doubt that you will find better deals than what this app will arrange for you (be sure to create an account to get those rates from within the app). And the pet related reviews of specific hotels can be helpful.

The promise of help with hotel issues is reliable. At one point, I screwed up the dates on a non-refundable reservation, so I contacted Ask Fido, received immediate assistance. It took Amy about 15 minutes to contact the hotel & get them to cancel the reservation. So right there, the app saved me $120.

If you are unfamiliar with a particular hotel chain, be sure to check the hotel web site before booking. I booked at one hotel which turned out to be aimed at a target customer base which was much younger than we are, so while the hotel was perfectly fine for young people, it was not really comfortable for anyone our age.

  • I like it.

    But dont love it.
Its great to find hotels. Its awesome to read reviews on those hotels from the perspective of people who have brought their dogs there.
I went in vacation with my new puppy and Bring Fido was very helpful when finding a hotel.
But… thats pretty much it. It really doesnt offer much else other than… dog parks and trails. I mean places we already KNOW dogs are allowed.
I personally don't need an app to tell me I can bring my dog to a dog park. Or that an event like bark in the park allows dogs. Uhmmm thats a given right? Or to tell me I can walk my dog on the street. 🤷🏽‍♀️
Id LOVE an app or website where it lists unconventional locations and events where dogs are allowed.
For example… did anyone knows that the renaissance Fairs in CT allows dogs????? I didnt know. I’ve been using bring Fido for years and those events are listed which is such a bummer. Thats ONE GREAT thing to know because guess what? Most ren faires DONT allow pets. In CT you can bring your dog, cat, lizard… even bunnies! If im not mistaken you can even being YOUR pet goat.
The SONO Mall in Norwalk, CT is also VERY pet friendly and they even have summer play time on certain Sundays.
BRING FIDO is missing unconventional places and events.

  • Very helpful

I discovered BringFido earlier this year and planned our trip to the northeast using it. I made reservations at 9 motels. What a time saver and money saver. Since all lodging is pet friendly I didn’t have to do that research. There was never an issue with having our dog and the majority of motels did not charge the pet fee, even though one was listed! We were always assigned the best room, in our opinion, first floor, close to the exit door.
There were 3 motels that had problems with “third party payers” and required charging us again, then refunded it the next day. I don’t understand it, initially resisted it, but after hearing the same story the third time, realized it’s the motel policy.

  • Great customer service!!!

I had made a 2 night reservation in NYC with my dog for a surgical procedure. Last minute, I found out that her procedure had been cancelled. I called BringFido to cancel out my reservation (non-refundable). I did not expect any refund, but the representative said she would submit it and see what they could do. I just got an email stating I got a full refund! Wow! Unexpected, and made my night!
I’ve been using the app for several years as we travel from NY to FL, and it has been a huge asset. Thanks, BringFido!!!!🐶

  • Love the app

While I love the app, the recommendations are strictly based on end-user experiences which can over or under exaggerate. Given the relative newness of the app, the more reviews, will make the app more legitimate.

Great start, just needs more time for us dog users. Wasn’t too impressed with the 2 hotels I booked based on the reviews while we traveled 2500 miles with our dogs. However choices were limited in the locations and reviews, IMHO, exaggerated.

However I look forward to this maturing and think it will be great going forward.
