  • Makes it easy to keep track of time spent on tasks

I have used many time trackers over the years and usually the problem I run into is that I will have switched from one task to another and forgotten to change the task in the time tracker.

Daily is really great for that, because it periodically asks you what you're working on and so it helps me make sure I log time under the right task.

  • Amasingly simple

It took me a while to understand I do not need to 'start' a time tracker or adjust the tracked time. This little App has a mechanic that is actively asking what you have done - and then calculates the time automatically.
It makes keeping time so much easier and I am glad I came across it.

Thanks for your review and glad to hear Daily is so useful to you.
  • Not accurate nor user friendly

Can seem simple and quick to use but it didn't help me. I've been trying it for 2 months and I didn't like it. The UX during, and after the use (for analysis) is not interesting for multitaskers like me.

Sorry to hear Daily doesn't satisfy you, especially as it aims to be user friendly and accurate. Would you mind sending us an email (hello@dailytimetracking.com) so we can ask you some questions how we can improve? Thanks so much in advance.
  • Never forget to switch tasks again

I've never managed to acurately track my time because I never remember to switch tasks or start timers.

Daily consistently reminds me to do that, asking me regularly what I'm working on. One click and I've switched tasks and am back on track to accurately recording my time.

  • Simple yet efficent

I was previously using a free web app to track my time while working, but it was a hassle having to flip to that browser window to change my time when I had lots of tabs open. I tested a handful of time tracking apps but fell in love with Daily. I love being able to quickly flip my time to a new task without interrupting what I'm currently looking at or working on. The keyboard shortcuts are a breeze to use once you get acclimated. I also use the iCloud sync feature for when I switch between Macs and it works like a charm! All of my tasks show up between computers and gets updated automatically. It’s nothing super fancy but it gets the job done and works consistently. I’d recommend the free trial to see if it works for you if you’re interested like I was so you can try it out for yourself!

  • Perfect tracking tool for my needs

Simple. Elegant. Accurate. It reminds me in increments to track my time so when I'm asked for billing hours (or if I'm curious about where my day went), I only have to sort by day, week, month and there it is. If I'm doing something that I don't want to track or be interrupted, I turn it off, then turn it back on when I'm ready. There are probably more complicated tracking apps, but this one does exactly what I need. Reminder. My categories. Total by day, week, month, year, and all. And I can export if i need to.

  • Great, simple, little timekeeper.

Takes moments to register 15 minutes worth of work. Perfect for filling in timesheets for people who hate filling in timesheets. I'll never forget what I've done again!

Thanks for your review. Exactly why we built Daily in the first place!
  • Simple and effective

If you're busy enough to need this app, you are too busy to fiddle with setting up the more complex time trackers. Even not using most of the features, the default tracking granularity results in suprisingly accurate tracking, even with a moderate interrupt/context switch rate.

The ability to have a business account and have your employer pay for it out-of-band is easy enough and helpful, especially as the price seems to be increasing.

I'm sure there's an equivalent for Windows/Linux/FreeBSD but my colleagues haven't seemed to find it yet. Probably not worth it monetarily, but would be nice to see ports of this app.

  • Clear, Simple and easily syncable

No learning curve for this app which is very uncomplicated to use. Could be slighty improved by the addition of weekly or monthly graphs.

  • Non-intrusive task tracking done right

This is an excellent time tracking app that manages to both prompt teh user for what they are doing and do so in a completely non-intrusive way that does not distract from the task at hand. It has been a time saver for working from home.
All this needs for 5 stars is a sane csv export format (denormalised data that can be easily imported inot any database), and better historical task editing.
The customer service is super-responsive so I am sure we'll get there in no time.
