  • Promising, missing a few features

I like this, because of the way it reminds you to track your work, and for its simplicity. Wouldn't want to add too many fancy features, but there should be a way to edit the logged time if you make a mistake. Already you can retroactively enter a block of time if you forgot to turn it on, and it's pretty elegant. I'm sure you could make an equally elegant way of removing or shortening a block if you forgot to turn off tracking. √√√

Thanks for your review. You can modify existing entries as described here: https://dailytimetracking.com/support#faq-manual. However, specifically undoing your previous applied activity is something we recorded as a feature request.
  • Simplifies time accounting

Have been using for several weeks - as long as you remeber to toggle it on and off, it's great. Filling out timesheets is much less of a hassle, and I find it helps me stay focused as I respond to prompts about what I am doing through the day. Great little app.

  • Just the pesky remining I need

I bounce around from task to task so frequently, that I find it impossible to stay sufficiently-disciplined at tracking my per-task time. Although the regular popping-up of this app's "what are you working on" is a bit pesky, it's the only thing I've found that makes sure I'm tracking the right thing. And the stats at the end of the day are not only good for billable hours, but for getting a sense of my overall workflow and efficiency. I would like to see some (mostly) cosmetic improvement to the interface, primary of which is a visual indicator of (green dot, radio button?) of the task that's currently being tracked, and a stop/play or green/red button for enable/disable tracking (as opposed to the dropdown menu). I'd love an app that could automatically track the names of the window/file I'm on, as then I wouldn't need the pop-up reminder, but I strongly suspect that would be a much more complicated program, and so I say again, this is the only thing I've found that works.

Thanks for your review! Note that there's no "active" activity that gets tracked. Daily works by sampling (activities) and calculates your timesheets based on the input you provide. Hence, there's no need for such a visual indicator. We are considering enhancing Daily by automatically applying activities based on the window/file you are working in/with. Would be an exciting feature indeed!
  • really good bro

it realy god my eshay gang
  • Useful!

Very simple and easy to use. I like not having to fiddle with timers because I always forget to turn them on or off. I wish I could see the number of hours of worked each day across the week - to see which days I work less and which days I work more etc. That would be pretty useful. It's also not very easy to start and stop timers when actually want to - although I am not good at it, it would be helpful to be able to manually do so when you wanted. So let's stay I stop working on my PhD, there's no way to actually 'stop the clock' per se.

Thanks for your review and feedback. Daily is not using timers at all, which is the reason you cannot start or stop them. Instead, it fully relies on samples in order to calculate time sheets.
  • A Sensible Time-Tracker

I looked at time trackers that rely on the user clicking a start/stop button. Seems ok until you forget to click (usually ’stop’ button), which happens all the time! This pops up every so often and asks you what you are working on. Very unobtrusively, it has the last thing you confirmed you were working on displayed, so you usually just click the tick to confirm. If you were doing something un-work-related, you can just click the cross symbol to dismiss that time check.

You can also disable it if you are not working that day. It allows you to keep track of the tasks within a project really well.

You can then export the data as a csv, son or Toggl file. Although I do wish there were more options for for categorising and export.

Overall a thoroughly well thought out time-tracker.

  • Does one thing, really well - great app!

This is one of those incredible little apps that does one thing, and does it really well.

Luckily that means it's the perfect solution to a problem I've had for a long time, so I love it! Well worth the quarterly subscription.
  • Good Solid App

Could do with some more improvements but a good app for what I want it to do.

  • Appreciate the Simplicity of this App

So far I’ve logged about 15 hours on this app. I like the idea that even if I am not working on my computer I can add tasks and edit the timeframe if my computer goes to sleep, while I’m reading or writing/journaling or researching. I am a freelancer so it also helps me see whether I am using my tme effectively, or wasting it on nonproductive activities! I just started a project that requires hours of research BEFORE I can begin the work that provides income, so it helps me see how much I am making for the amount of time I am spending on the project! Helps me provide accurate recordkeeping for my client as well. From reading other reviews I learned how to edit time if I client the check mark on an old task when it should be a new one!

Being able to create a PDF or print a report would be great by using a print menu option. I don’t know how to use AppleScript. Suggestions?

Hi, printing PDFs or reports in general is something we have in our backlog. Best regards!
