After IOS 12.2

The app keeps crashing after updating to ios12.2. The aegir pen is pretty much useless without the app because there is no macOS or windows support for this pen. Absolute waste of money if the ios keeps crashing.

Awful awful - no connection, non functional device

Had the Livescribe pen for several years but not used it in awhile until today when I needed it and my old notes in a hurry. The app crashes the moment I try to do or select anything and the pen won’t appear when I connect it to my Mac to try and update its firmware over usb instead of wirelessly.

I can see the iOS app recognise the pen but the moment it does it crashes.

If I switch off the pen the app only crashes whenever I try to do anything within it. No support and no help. Stay well away from this.

Export Needs Work

I’m currently on my second Livescribe pen, as I bought an Echo at the beginning of college, let it sit for a few years while I was in a break from school, and the display died. I picked up a 3 for this year now that I’m back full time, and the app has recorded my lectures marvelously for 1.25 semesters so far. Crashing has been minimal, and emailing friends notes when they miss class is quick, easy, and effective.

HOWEVER:

A big draw of the pen is being able to send the notes to OneNote or Evernote and I was looking forward to making a “Master File” for each class with PowerPoints, handouts, and my own notes and lecture transcriptions as a convenient, lightweight backup copy on my iPad, and a study tool to share with and collaborate on with classmates. I’ve tried both OneNote and Evernote, and the data won’t send. My app software and pen firmware are allegedly up to date so I’m not sure what’s wrong, but it’s not the ideal situation.

Crapp-App

This is likely the second review that I have written regarding an application so it must truly be worthless. I am a very tech-savvy person so the fact that after numerous attempts to get the Smart Pen 3 to pair with my 2018 iPad that is a compatible device with current software, (read 2+ hours on many occasions), the SmartPen3 has only paired on a handful of occasions.
I followed all of the instructions that I could find to the period, contacted their tech support–no follow up on their part, and have consulted many on-line forums/blogs/chats regarding this issue. The inability to pair the pen with the iPad is virtually the Number One issue!
As a disabled veteran, this “Dumb Pen” has become the Bain of my existence for note taking at school and the most over-priced piece of plastic ever purchased. I have recommended to the VA and the school that I am attending that they stop buying and/or recommending this device to students.
It is too bad that there are only star ratings. There needs to be fruit pit ratings because the pairing portion of this software is indeed – “The Pits”!

Poor very poor

Your data, is not safe, you will loose it all eventually with this app. A whole MSc degree worth of notes gone. Yes I backed up and still have the pen-casts but cannot play them in the app and they seldom work online at the webpage I mean really??? This app has always been buggy and now it has completely failed on both my iOS devices. I have a number of fellow students and this has happened to them also. Livescribe help??? Doesn’t exist, never get a response and the help guides and user manual are useless. I can’t even sell the pen as there is no way to wipe it first. The manual tells you how but the menu item it advises you press while holding option doesn’t exist and it takes you to their website with zero instruction how to do it. It’s a joke!!! Don’t buy these products!!!!!!!!!!!

App crashing

App keeps crashing whenever I try to open a synced notes.

Great pen, awful app

I purchased my livescribe 3 in December of 2015 hoping it would be a suitable replacement for my echo which was aging at the time. I used the livescribe 3 for about a semester until I decided to switch back to my echo. The problems with this product have to do with the app, which is unintuitive, buggy, prone to crashing, slow and laggy, and often left me scrambling to get my pen paired with my phone before the lecture started. (It took multiple attempts sometimes). Fast forward to today (2018) and my reliable echo smart pen finally quit mid semester. I was left trying to get my mothballed livescribe 3 to work. I figured by this time the app would be improved. But it appears to be just the same if not worse after 3 years! The app won’t even let me delete my old note books or add new ones. This totally unacceptable after three years considering the price of this product. If I get another livescribe product, it would probably be an echo which does not require a phone app to work. But I am considering moving elsewhere considering this developer doesn’t seem to care about improving their products.

Evernote integration is broken

With the last update, pages are now showing up completely black in Evernote.

Barely functional

I really like the pen but holy moly, this app is barely functional. extremely frustrating when you’re trying to do fieldwork with multiple interviews. Sort it out please!

So buggy it’s unusable

I would love to love this product but it is so extremely full of bugs it’s unusable. When is an update coming out? Surely you guys can do better than this?
