  • Almost pointless

Incredibly slow and can only share transcribed text files and thats only some of the time. I love the pen and the concept, but the app is just horrible.
  • So disappointing

I loved the idea: I carry a notebook with me all the time, and thought this would be an excellent way to share with others and keep things in one place. Recently I decided to step it up more by using it as a Bullet Journal. I was thrilled with the merger of the two concepts until the pen started skipping, making me lose dates and info. I tried to fix that, thinking maybe archiving it would save things together. Turns out you can't reverse an archive function; I have what looks like two sets of hieroglyphic messages not even vaguely resembling a calendar or Bullet Journal. Feeds seem random and arbitrary. The bookmarking functions don't work as expected. The ink refills are short-lived, low quality ink, which is frustrating when you believe in the product and want to use it for everything. This product is so disappointing it hurts. I feel guilty for all the people who listened to my praise of this set. Minor glitches and oversights can impact your productivity if you try to depend on this thing.

  • So nearly great

So much better than the Moleskine offering. Pen is great and nice weight. Notebooks are good too and not that dear. However, there are a few things the app really needs:

    - the ability to customise tags (there are only three and not much use)
    - the ability to use a highlighter on the onscreen notes (see Moleskine app)
    - the ability to export any note as a png/jpg not just sketch notes
    - the ability to see pages side by side just like the paper notebook
    - the ability to add new pages and populate them with photos of pages from old paper notebooks so I don't have to re-write them all

    Aside from that, really impressed!

  • My expensive pen is worthless without a functioning app.

Get your app fixed! The app crashes constantly. I did everything you suggested. I even reset my phone. It's not my device or pen, it's your app. Judging by the comments, I am not the only one. The app won't stay open longer than two minutes and then when it crashes I lose any prior recordings to include the one that I was currently recording .

This app used to be good then it just stopped working. Now my expensive pen is no better than a $.20 pen I could find on the ground.

I suggest you fix the app soon. I have had a lot of people asking me about this pen. Are used to give raving reviews about how much it's helped me that is soon to come to an end. I'm about to start giving it bad reviews to everyone that will listen.

  • Too Buggy to Earn the Awesome it should be

I am on my 4th LiveScribe device. I had a Pulse, then an Echo, then the Sky, and now the oddly named 3 (because its the fourth device). In any case, I love the Evernote integration, and the Bluetooth sync, and the appreciable battery life. I have a few hardware and software issues. My pen arrived with a crack in it. I never bothered to swap it out, but I thought that was sort of bush league. The software for some reason, all of my notes sync to Evernote as if they are occurring on the correct date and time ... in the year 2020. There are no settings that can help me change this, and no response from Support on their FaceBook page. Finally, the application crashes. Frequently. Meaning, you open the app, and it acquires the pen and starts syncing, and then just closes. For no reason. This shut down behavior has increased in frequency over the past few months and updates. I have only 4 notebooks synced, and I have plenty of free memory on my iPad. Not sure why this would occur, but Syncing is why I purchased the $250 pen in the first place, so the flakiness there is alarming to say the least. Starting to make me wonder if the company is slowly withdrawing resources and support for their products.

  • Cool new features but buggy

I enjoy using my pen and am excited by some of the new features that have been added. The vector imaging looks nice and the full text export has promised as well.

However the app does seem to freeze and crash quite frequently. It also seems to take a long time to boot up. Pencasts often don't start at all or after a long delay. I have lost a few long Pencasts during key meetings which is very frustrating. I often switch to airplane mode and turn on Bluetooth when creating a key Pencast. I get the sense that other apps and notifications interrupt Pencasts so this seems to help.

It would be great if there was a "select all" button in notebook for you to allow you to export an entire notebook as a PDF. To accomplish that in the current structure requires physically tapping on every single page in a notebook which is extremely tedious.

  • Could be better

I enjoy the pen and its usefulness as it helps me get much of my work recorded. However, the app lacks a user friendly platform. This is because when listening back to lectures I can't zoom into my pencast pdf thus making it difficult to find what I need to listen to. Also, I would like to have the app to automatically pair with pen device without having to open it as that takes in more efficiency. I find it very problematic that I must open that app because on more than one occasion have I had the app stop recording either at all or in mid-lecture. Please fix this

  • So much potential, and yet...

There are so many things that this app should be able to do at this point that it just can't. Why can't it sync between my iPhone and iPad? Being able to record notes with either device and then have them shared between would be so much better. I'm surprised that there isn't an app for the Mac that will also sync to this account. All these things would make this a much better product. I've been able to keep it from crashing in the middle of recordings now. And reset the dates so that all my notes aren't dated for 2019, but these things should be easier to take care of. Archiving should be much easier. The fact that my pen casts aren't automatically uploaded to One Note or Evernote and that I have to go back and manually select them is a joke. Once these things are fixed, this app could achieve it's full potential.

  • Great concept but too glitchy

I have owned a couple different versions of livescribe pens and the concept is great, especially for students in quick paced classes where it is difficult to get all the info, or students who have some learning needs and would like the opportunity to slow down and review material later. That being said, this app is far too glitchy for how much they are charging for the original product, which demands use of this app. While I was using yesterday it quit half way through every pen cast which means I lost all the recording I had been doing up to that point. The other pens have a way of syncing words and sounds immediately, I don't know why this app doesn't do the same because I am tired of this app glitching and thusly loosing all of my materials. Fix this problem because without this app your product is worthless. I expected better!

  • Big fan of Livescribe 3 and Livescribe+!

I’ve been playing around with the latest version of Livescribe+ and I’m loving it. I’ve been using the Feed more and more -- I’m a huge fan of being able to write phone numbers, URLs, and addresses on my notebook with my Livescribe 3 pen, and then swiping to change them into text. Once my notes are in text, all I have to do is touch the phone number to add it to my Contacts or make the call, or touch the URL to launch the browser, or touch the address to launch maps. It’s truly amazing. I’ve also been recently adding photos to my Feed as well. I like how I can “flip” the photo by swiping, and then write on the back, so I can take notes about the picture – this is great for note-taking, and also makes searching a lot easier later. I’m also a huge fan of using Siri to add notes to my feed as well – very convenient. One more feature I’ve been using more and more is Pencasts - it’s so cool that I can touch any point in my notes on my iPad and iPhone, and it plays back the audio that was recorded at the time that I took the note.
