  • Espresso is good but…

Although still my favorite source of economic and political information, The Economist’s multiple offerings have now lost their individuality. There is too much duplication of articles and promotion of the main newspaper in newsletters. I don’t understand the promotional value of this strategy-has it worked; i.e., has The Economist’s market research shown increased subscriptions, holding other variables constant)?

  • Small serving size, big flavour

I find myself using this app far more than I expected, under all sorts of circumstances. The information is impeccably presented, and I’m downright impressed how big ideas can be compressed and packaged into such short entries. If that’s not a recommendation, I don’t know what is!
  • Great App

news in brief around the world - great round up of what’s happening around the world without having to spend a whole bunch of time
  • Negative changes

I loved this app before the new version when I’m no longer able to access previous days of news. This is a lack of flexibility to catch up on previous days (I believe the previous version went back a week) & check back if desired. I don’t know why so much content was erased, less value for a higher cost too.

  • Excellent perspectives, perfect size. Read it every day at lunch!

Espresso gives me quick, detailed and thorough updates on the days news that I can read during a quick lunch. And the daily quote a highlight of my day!
  • Why did the currency and commodity page go away?

Miss being able to see previous days, like the audio option. Many links to other economist related stories, helps also.
  • New version is USELESS for subscribers

Please, please go back to previous version. This one is just embarrassing.
Where is the the CURRENT (i.e. today’s) version of The World in Brief? What is the POINT of even using this app if all there is to read is OLD news?
Please allow users to SCROLL through WiB pages from previous days in the week.
This app USED to be a useful way to quickly access the day’s leading political, business and financial news. Now it is little more than a collection of links to outdated articles on the Economist app, which, as an Economist subscriber, I can already access via the magazine or its very good app. If this app is now to be a separate tool to offer a watered-down version of the Economist, please clearly indicate it as such.
    Extremely disappointing.

  • New updates bring regression

Before the “new format” one could see articles from that current week in case you missed a day. The devs took that away! What are they thinking??!! I believe they are trying to Pavlovian train us to open their app every day. I use to love this app, and overall, I like the new format, but taking away the ability to see some past days makes this app expendable to me. I have unsubscribed in protest! Please bring this back, plus the quote of the day.
    Won’t resubscribe until you do!

  • Great quick summary

I also susbscribe to the weekly edition but especially with fast changing news, like Ukraine, wonderful to get a reliably honest coherent updated account from Espresso
  • Well curated content

The Economist Espresso provides and extraordinarily well curated and concentrated hit of news first thing in the morning - reading a longer summary elsewhere and later often adds very little.
The new version of the app is less tightly designed than the previous one and is less pleasing to my eye than the previous one.
