Wish there’s more varieties

Love the app but I wish there’s more varieties to classes. The most common ones are just Pilate and yoga.

The right motivation to work out

I got a free month of this app through T-Mobile Tuesdays. It wasn’t until the end of the second month, which I paid for, that I took a look at what this app offers. Basically you buy a bucket of points and trade them for classes at various studios and gyms, like Fit wall, yoga, Pilates, gym time, spin, etc.. You can also trade them for hair and nail salons and massages. Participating businesses include various parts of the United States and the world, so you can take your work out with you when you travel. I had tragically fallen off the workout wagon, and couldn’t seem to get it together. Until this app. If you reserve a class and cancel within 12 hours or failed to show up, you pay a penalty. In other words you get fined for not working out. This is precisely the type of system that has worked well for me. I enjoy being able to sample different studios and different types of workouts as well. Although I never expected it, this might be the number one life-changing app I’ve used.

Horrible!!

Horrible app!! You pay a monthly membership and receive these points and you use those points to book classes. Some classes are shown on the app but won’t let you book it let’s you go through all the way with picking a day and time until you actually book it then it won’t let you book.

Customer service is horrible and not helpful at all. I cancelled my membership for the following month (I didn’t want to forget to cancel it so did it now) but still had points and days left on my current month to book classes. When I told them this they said I needed a recurring membership to be able to book classes. If you cancel ahead you lose your points such a waste and system that is not for the benefit of the user!! Will never use them again. Which is a shame because this concept has such great potential but such horrible design and customer service.

Much love, could improve

I want to say first that I’m a huge fan of the service provided and love Classpass in general. That being said, there are a couple of things that I’ve found bothersome as a customer. The main issue I have is that I don’t believe customers should be charged with fees if we miss a class we’ve scheduled. I know there must be incentive to not schedule classes casually for the sake of the studios, but we’re already losing those points/our money, and the extra charge feels punitive. The second issue I’d like to mention is the inability to use points to purchase classes in the next cycle. If I have more than the points that are allowed to rollover (also not a huge fan of the fact that points purchased can disappear if you don’t use them in time) and I’m nearing the end of my cycle, I’d love to have the ability to use them for future classes, even if they’re in the next cycle. I do love Classpass and use it a lot, but I’ve often found myself wishing these aspects were different.

Info Not transparent

They made it so difficult to find the cancellation button, and when I found it, it went through so many questions, and eventually some technical issue which won’t let me click through.

The dance studio I want to try isn’t available under the trial plan. I did consider signing up for a proper plan but they won’t tell me how many credits the classes consume until I upgrade to a proper paid plan. So I could be signing up and realised that it’s costing more through ClassPass than directly with the vendor.

It’s one of those businesses that would do anything to get you to pay for it first. I understand they need to make money but at least he transparent with your customers.

Well that was short lived...

Was really excited about classpass’s concept and was very excited attending my first 3 classes; then when trying to set up my 4th class I realized the credit amount for the same class had doubled or tripled for the same classes I’d literally been in the week before. There was no warning, explanation etc as to why. I thought maybe it was some sort of glitch and looked up other classes and same thing, all had now become 8/9credits from 3/4 credits the week before. That’s very much a bait and switch. Had really been looking forward to replacing my lifetime gym membership with this but very glad I didn’t cancel my lifetime membership as I’ll be going back to it and canceling this. The lack of transparency leaves much to be desired.

Issue #2; only 10 or your subscription amount of points rollover each month so you can’t accumulate more than double your subscription amount; yet there are services which cost 100+ credits so how does one accumulate that much if you can’t save more than double your credits monthly? This isn’t really explained well in their fine print!! I’d literally been thinking I was “saving” credits for my Bday(April) to go get a full spa treatment that costs 100+ only to find out my monthly payments of $42 since Nov 2021 had been resetting to 21 credits and rolling over 21 credits so the most I ever had was 42 credits at a time!! Smh!!

Hi there, in order to encourage ClassPassers to explore and discover new studios, the credit rate may increase the more frequently you visit a studio. After you’ve visited a studio 3 times, you’ll still be able to book at most studios - it might just cost you a few extra credits! We'll roll over any unused credits up to the number of credits offered in your upcoming plan, or up to 10 unused credits - whichever is greater. If you renew onto a 100-credit plan, we’ll roll over up to 100 unused credits. These credits will become available for use within 48 hours of your renewal date and will be added to your credit count. Hope this explains!

Great… until it wasn’t

I started with a free trial of classpass and loved it so much that I renewed for 4 months! I even upgraded my membership last cycle. It was great… until it wasn’t. At first, everything was super affordable and their credits per service/fitness class were amazing. Seemingly overnight, they changed a lot of their structure. Classes that used to cost me 4 credits now cost 7-8 (one at the same studio was even 10!), and my 10 credit manicure is now 14 at the same salon, despite none of these businesses changing their pricing. Classpass concierge is a joke. It worked great last November, but when I tried to book at the same salon last week I got a response saying they couldn’t secure me an appointment, but I called the salon myself and they were able to take me at that same time slot for the same service without classpass’ help. I then tried to schedule a manicure at 3 other salons that were “concierge” service as well, and classpass once again told me they couldn’t schedule it for me. That’s fine, but don’t advertise those salons if you’re not even willing to do the scheduling and are too lazy to call the salon to book. I reached out to customer support and they were no help. Now I have a surplus of credits I’m trying to use up because I will not be renewing this service due to the recent changes.

Great for Workout Roamers and Affordable Options

This app has proved itself worth it even if I go to mostly the same studio but also allows me to try that one pole, barre, or other class that I wouldn’t do all the time but for a fraction of the one time visit fee. I haven’t had any issues with the app and I love how it syncs your calendar (however if you cancel an event you need to make sure to delete it off your calendar too!). The only stickler part about this roamer app is that the late cancel fee is about how much I pay (the 9 credit plan), so you better commit! Overall though there are plenty of plan options and at least where I am the credits to buy classes are still super low (probably due to pandemic effects still). Lastly, I love that with this app, if I wanted to work out at a studio while traveling I totally could and it would just be an everyday ClassPass day.

Perfect for my ADHD brain

Classpass is perfect for my ADHD brain.

I like that everything is in one place, easy to search. I love that I can search by time so if I have a slot, I can see what options are rather than go to lots of diff places.

In the past I’ve struggled to stick to fitness goals and also because I live in the city, there’s so many options, I‘d analysis paralysis and often end up doing nothing or double booking.

This pass allows me to see gap in my diary and find a class to suit. I can plan my week better and it’s easy to cancel if I do it before 12 hours of the class. I rarely cancel but it allows me the option.

I also love it that it’s one cost and not having to buy loads of memberships at different places and allows me to have the variety I need to keep me motivated.

I do think the pricing is a little off at times on some sessions but that’s not class pass’s fault I suppose.

A big let down

I used ClassPass regularly pre-pandemic and was pretty happy with it. I struggled with getting back into a gym / exercise routine lately and decided to give ClassPass another go (they kept emailing me about rejoining). First surprise was the price increase - jumped from £40 to £65???? Also because the first month is a trial you get 20 free credits but you can only book one class at each place - so if like me you want to go to the same gym or studio every week you simply can’t during your trial, surely I should be able to choose the one that’s more convenient to me location wise and not made to travel?? Also credits required for some of the classes are extortionate - 11 for a 45 min class? And I only have 20? Nah man, really disappointed and needless to say I won’t be renewing nor recommending it to anyone.
