Customer Service? One Big Circle Back
The content/art is the redeeming factor. Other than that, customer service links send you in a circle back to where you started getting you no where. If you did not authorize a ID name change, the app may process it anyway. If you pay a yearly service to change your name back, it does not process it nor do the links seem to recognize any of the names. Is there a phone number to call? Not that I could find. An email? Nope. How do I cancel a subscription? Someone please tell me because I do not know. Are any humans running the app at all? Consistent crashes and limited usability
The app will consistently crash, especially on specific posts. there are some posts that will instantly crash the app no matter what. if something is uploaded as a pdf there is absolutely no way to access it on mobile. you used to be able to filter searches, but that’s been taken away. extremely disappointing and nearly unusable at times. mobile web app is far superior.Show lessGarettyhg
Can’t login
The app doesn’t give me access to my user name (password yes username above it no) when I try to login I preferred the other one since it didn’t have that issue mostly because it didn’t try to cram the login screen into a smaller space on the main screen and also let me scroll up to access my user name.Show lessOld steamer
Crashes
It keeps crashing on me whenever I look at notes. And it occasionally crashes when I look at profiles. Makes it difficult to use.
I'm using an iPhone. I don't believe I had this issue with Samsung.Paigey L
Improvements needed
I’ve been a DA user for years, but there’s some things from the browser version I prefer over the app. For one, i hate that there’s no option for a light mode in the app. As a user wo has a lot of bases saved, most are transparent, it’s a big eye strain to look through my saved bases without a light background. Another oddity is that sometimes when I’m scrolling through my bigger save folders, the app would CRASH! Which is such a pain, especially when I’m halfway down my page and have to restart. My final nitpick to say is that I don’t have as many folders as the browser. I know they’re there, but they don’t appear in the app.
In conclusion, I LOVE using Deviantart, but the app has some flaws that should be corrected.Show lessCallie36
Crashes Randomly
I tend to browse a lot while I use this app. And, sure it's not as good as the desktop version of the website, but it's..........manageable to search stuff and look at many artworks and fiction pieces. What isn't manageable is that if I use the app for long periods of time, random crashes would occur and it can get pretty annoying. I can easily tell when a crash can happen whenever I browse someone's DeviantArt Gallery and random artwork they do aren't showing up. Viewing long comment threads also has the app crashing, too.
It's stated that this app was "updated" over 9 months ago when I'm writing this review. This random crashing needs to be fixed immediately before I can rate this app any higher.Show lesszimfan10
Crashing
For about two weeks now, I’ve had issues with this app. When I try to go to my profile, it pulls it up for a split second and then the app closes out by itself. I’ve uninstalled, and reinstalled the app and everything to no avail. I’d hoped this issue would be fixed by now, but it hasn’t. It’s very frustrating, because I’ve not had any issues really until now. No clue what’s going on, but it’s clearly the app. When I access it through a web browser I have no problems, but I prefer the app because it’s obviously more user friendly. I wish they’d rectify this problem, I’d like to be able to post things on my own account. 🙄 I can’t even fix the not being able to view mature content either, after reinstalling the app because I can’t even get to my settings.Show lessAlecwolf

Why for my choice
Why I’m giving this version of DA a 3/5, it’s good, but can definitely be a lot better, one thing that makes me a bit angry is quite a couple features of this version, you have more options on the web, but not the version from the App Store, kinda rigged, especially for people with DA blocked on their web browser. So they can’t sign in as well, which you have to use the web browser version to sign in. Which is stupid!! It would be a bit better as well, if it wasn’t so buggy, but you have left this for 8-9 months now, no fixes to this version of DA. Are you actually picking favorites? Also there should be more things for the art, you are allowing 18+ art on here, and allowing art thief’s to keep stealing art from artists. Avoid
I joined this lot a few months ago and I have now cancelled my membership as they have been helping themselves to my bank account on incorrect dates for sub payments. Last time was 10 days early. I have complained and asked for a refund and they have just ignored me. Avoid this company if you want to deal with an honest organisation. Used to be a good company I hear until Wix took it over.
