This app was recommended to me whil I was on a bike race last year 4000km. After the race I got to use it more and found it a great simple resource to find any feature I needed especially services, food, water, shops and camp sites. But also much more too. It takes maybe a hour to bother to read the instructions and play with the features. Yet it becomes the very handiest tool to use. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT TO ALL.

Just can’t be trusted
Really wanted to like this app because I hate Google tracking everything about us,,, but it just isn’t robust enough. Have used it a few months on a few trips. This last trip the app seemed to know the destination was approximately 260 miles away but when calculating a route the time and distance estimates were wildly inaccurate like by hundreds of miles and several hours. The route on the map seemed correct but while traveling beyond cell service in somewhat remote areas of MT, WY, and SD I wasn’t happy with “guessing”. Don’t trust this app. And yes I spent hours tweaking it and attempting to understand how it works. The app is not mission critical and can’t be trusted. Best of luck for those that want to tinker with it. Just doesn’t make the cut for real world application.

Fixed!
Wow, the latest updated fixed the map pan/zoom gestures, and they now work as they should on iOS. Never thought I’d live till this day! Still some work to do but it’s so much better.

OsmAnd (online tiles) removed (fixed)
Fantastic customer service which is always so important with any subscription…
Had a corruption issue where when reinstalling the app after iOS deleted it to save space the online tiles disappeared. Probably because the newer version it downloaded was used old saved data on my phone. Deleted everything and reinstalled and everything works perfectly. So happy to see this app receive continuous love and improvement. Thanks!

Custom routes and very configurable
This is an awesome app. Custom routes that are easy to create, cloud sync, carplay, and on and on. Could use some layout/UI improvements because it’s a bit confusing but the functionality more than makes up for it.

Downloaded maps disappear, gps tracking very slow
I wanted to use this map to track my position while travelling by train. However despite downloading every map I could find, every time I open the app the detailed offline maps are gone. GPS position take ages to update to the correct place and then never seems to update at the train moves.

I like this app, and despite what other people say, it’s not too complicated to use… if you’re willing to spend some time learning how to use the app. People are just too lazy now. Too busy ordering pizza from Deliverpoo, probably.
The app has a lot of settings, because it caters for every type of user. Get used to it, or use another app.
However… it is ridiculously expensive, as far as I’m concerned, because I rarely use the app for anything but a map reference. I’m not incompetent, so I can navigate without any help. Paying for expensive maps and other extra features is therefore a bit sore. Especially when Magic Maps is free for everything, and works well. Sadly, this is an Apple phone, and we purchasers are expected to be rich and stupid. Get used to that too, or use another phone provider.
4 stars for the app. 0 stars for the expense.

All inclusive plans not being honored
I have an active “All Inclusive” plan, but the new app (with new plans) won’t honor it.
I don’t know if that’s intentional, or a glaring bug, but either way it feels like a bait and switch.

Going Downhill
I have supported this app for several years. Recently they are pushing a new subscription model, which I don’t understand… but I’m not willing to pay any more and not willing to lose features when I currently can’t even download offline maps anymore which has left me in a jam… this is a critical feature of this app, and tapping the “maps and resources” button just causes the app to completely freeze…
This app has always been a bit broken, but I’ve been willing to support it because I care about open street map, and want to see it succeed… however it is rapidly burning through any good will I had towards it and I will probably cancel my annual subscription to this app at this point. Others should probably follow suit.

New update crashes continuously
This was a great app but the new update has ruined it. Crashes regularly on Carplay. Is a danger and can no longer be used in the car. How can you release such a buggy version? Some of the many bugs: distance to next waypoint freezes, route line disappears, app quitting at random, route partially showing a straight line to target instead of street routing, etc. Was there no testing?
UPDATE: And, -without warning- it now requires a subscription to use it with Carplay! Buggy AND subscription? Looked around, found Sygic after testing many. Much better! Thank you OSMand for making me look for an alternative
