  • Exactly what I’ve been looking for

Before I’ve tried to memorize scripture passages directly out of the Bible. Once I learned one or two verses in the Bible passage, I would move onto the other verses, then I would get frustrated for forgetting the earlier passages that I just had memorized earlier.

This app makes it so easy. The games you play on this app help so much. All of them are amazing. I’ve already memorized several scripture passages very quickly. I’m so thankful for this app, and it is helping me grow closer to the Lord, as I am chewing on God’s word and have it in my heart more and more.

    Thank you Verses!

  • Really good!

I have been looking for a Bible memory app and it seems like Verses is one of the better ones. The number of ways to memorize a verse are helpful because they not only help in the different ways we memorize things, but they reinforce each other as well. A few things need improvement so be warned…. They have not fixed this in over two years. The speech to text function is wonky. I can say the same word over and over again but for some reason it doesn’t recognize the word I’m saying. For instance no matter how many times I try to say “entrust” (2 Tim. 2:2), the app doesn’t recognize the word. The other problem is when a verse has a dash the word right after won’t come up until you press the right key three or four times. So there are some verses you want to memorize that you will never complete fully. I was fine with it for awhile but it’s starting to annoy me, mainly that it hasn’t been fixed yet.

Thanks for the good review. Glad our app is benefiting you in memorizing scripture verses. We are working on a new completely rewritten Verses app. We plan on releasing this in early 2023.
  • In the beginning was the Word!

I love this app! Building my scriptural knowledge day by day. ‘Tap to Reveal’ - is my favourite feature helps me to do a little everyday!
  • Have had this app long time, since the early days.

This app has changed a lot. It went from free, then, hey one-time buy the translation of the Bible you want to memorize for like 6 bucks (I don’t exactly remember long time ago). It changed again, perhaps somewhat recently it seems, to paying a yearly fee — but originally it was just a one time purchase for the translation (KJV was always free— good). And can now only memorize them if I continue to pay. I don’t like it when apps keep changing their policies on payments.
    — A different thing that is frustrating: one thing that I don’t like is that if you expand the verse (which is an option that is nice) to see the context of the verse. You cannot Undo it… which is annoying. Because it does not always mean the person is expanding it to memorize more of the verse. But wanting to expand out to reorient themselves ect.

    But compared to other apps
Is is great for mémorisation. The fill in the missing word option seems to work well— so does typing in just the first letter— as these are techniques folks use with good old pen & paper, & old tried and true ones.

Thanks for your input. Glad to hear our app has been beneficial to you. If you were one of those who purchased a specific translation, when we went to a subscription based service you should have received an offer of a lifetime Pro subscription. Reach out to us via support, link in the app, and I'll see if I can help you with this. We are working on an completely rewritten Verses app, which we hope to release in early 2023.
  • Finally! A tool that speeds up memorizing

I am so happy to find this tool, and it is so worth the annual subscription. I have been able to commit complete passages to memory within just a couple days by using this app. I’m now working through Romans road and have already committed 50% of it to memory in one day.

The “speak out” feature is beta and definitely has issues. I really hope they fix this, as we need to have the Word “in your mouth and in your heart”.

The app is a bit finicky, but it’s very useful and makes memorizing Scripture fun.

  • Great Memorization App

I don’t usually do these but I had to do a review for this app because I have really enjoyed it. It’s like a game for learning scripture and catechisms. I have benefitted greatly from it already and I hope to use it in the future. I’m working on the Westminster Shorter, I’m almost done, and hope to do the Larger next year. What a wonderful app and props to the developers for making it so user friendly. It is like they actually want you to learn it! I think they could even do some improvements on the catechisms, such as being able to test yourself by going straight through or by selecting certain questions you are struggling with, but like I said all in all it is a great app.

Glad to hear that you are benefiting from the Verses app in memorizing scripture verses. Thank you for the suggestion. I will pass this along to our developer.
  • Been using for years still enjoying it

This was one of the first apps I got on my phone when I got a smartphone. Now many years later they have kept the same basic layout and if they have added new features they don’t overide the old ones which I am thankful for.
A couple of suggestions that would make the app better is having an option of mixing word bank and type out. Words still disappear gradually and but you have no word bank and have type the the first letter of the word. Wether this could be a setting that one could turn on or off or a different game it would be a great addition. Another suggestion is after completing the 4 levels of word bank is to be able to go back and chose which level to do. It currently resets if you try a different game like type out. But say you feel like you need to go back to level four of word bank you have to start with level 1

  • Excellent

This is my favorite scripture memorizing app. The thing I love best about this app is that if you are memorizing a long scripture, for example a psalm you are memorizing, you add the psalm to your plan you can add each verse one by one, this helps you to know and remember where one verse ends and Tyne next one begins and for it makes it easier to remember. That is good to know, even if it’s just for yourself, I live Gods Word and for memorizing and practicing this has been the best app for me, I use the NKJV. For all the help I have received through this app for memorizing and use of the program I would give it a 10 + if I could

  • App worth paying for

This is the only app I have paid for and it has been worth every penny. It has really helped me memorize scripture this past year. I will most definitely be renewing next year. I really like the way that it starts me into memorization and helps me get it down pat. I wish that there was a matching feature for the verses that I memorizing to be sure I have the reference with the verse correct.

My only suggestion is some kind of matching like game for references and first part of scripture. I have verses down after I get going, but need to work on reference with the verse. Thanks!

  • Its a good app but not for me

Its a really good app, but I normally read KJV on my bible but i guess the UK KJV and the American KJV is a little different, which had me soooo confused. I wish this had the option to type in your verses yourself that you want to learn. But other than that its a really good app, but unfortunately i wont be using it, since it doesn’t have the option of the Oxford KJV. Learning any other versions really messes me up. But I totally recommend this app
