Changes destroyed this app
I used to use this for ticket scanning. Now, with the updates, you must create a profile that includes name, phone, email, age, gender and other invasive information JUST TO SCAN A TICKET. I complained to Washington lottery, and they told me the changes were necessary to 1) make sure no one under 18 was playing, and 2) to participate in the awards program soon to roll out. For the first point, I don’t understand how this is necessary and for the second point, who cares if like 90% of users only want the app to scan tickets. Terrible, terrible update. App now worthless
Since the v2 update did away with being able to use the ticket scanner unless you create and log into an account, this app has become worthless. I’m very weary of the technologists who espouse the belief that if I want to use their product it’s only fair I give up my personal info to do so. Not me buddy! I’m deleting app today after updating app and writing review
Unnecessary to ask for email and create account just to scan ticket. Until WA lotto app updates and clearly states in description that you can scan tickets without the need for account and email, I will not use app. For new or current users who have not updated, please read recent description of other users before updating and using appShow lessSea_Dom
What junk!
The old app worked great. This new app requires you to create an account asking for tons of personal information before you can scan a ticket. If you do create an account, the scanner still doesn’t work. All I get is “Please see lottery.“ What the heck does that mean? What a lame error message. Can’t admit that something isn’t working. Couldn’t be simple....
I was looking for a simple scanner to scan my lotto tickets. This app requires an account be created before I can simply scan my ticket. They state in the app that the personal information they require is for age verification. This is not necessary nor is it required by law. It shouldn’t be this difficult to scan a ticket in my opinion. Let the lady behind the counter check my ID when I collect my winnings, I don’t need an app to “pretend” it knows that I’m an adult because I have given it someone’s personal info.Show lessShawn chess player
Bad app - crazy complex unnecessary requirements
What’s wrong with it? Having to sign in and give oersonal info in order to scan your numbers. I expect to fill out forms for a drivers license, but to play a lottery game, really? Suggest WA Lottery replace whoever approved this app change - transfer them to DMV and then roll back to the prior version.
It was a fun game of chance. Some Big Brother control freak(s) took the fun out of the game with unnecessary requirements. It’s like paying someone to make your life more complex. Won’t be playing anymore unless and until they roll back this app.Show lessbuyers beware $$$$
Major changes gone horribly wrong
This used to be a 5-star app, giving you quick results, well-written intros, and an easy ticket scanner. Since the major update in November 2019, the scanner only works some of the time (error messages), the app doesn’t update the results for a few hours after the drawing, and you are now required to register to get any of the benefits from this app.
I’m out. I’ll go back to the old method of just checking the website, if I bother playing at all. Whoever came up with this idea needs to be demoted.Show lessLuckybranch
Horrible! Don’t waste your time.
I would give this app ZERO STARS if I could. The latest update is a huge downgrade from the prior version. It no longer shows the drawn numbers when you scan your ticket. Just indicates that your ticket is not a winner. Forces you to enter your personal information and create a login. This should NOT be required because you can neither purchase nor redeem tickets online. I am deleting this app. Will consider re-loading if the app is upgraded to actually be useful.Show lessJust2Tango

There was nothing wrong with this app and then someone had to justify their paycheck so they came up with a crappy update. Did any of you people involved in this disaster ask anyone to test it and get their opinion before you forced this update on us? Because trust me, they would have told you how bad it is. Have you heard the phrase ‘ If it ain’t broke don’t fix it’?
And why do you need someone’s personal information to just check their ticket? This is a gross invasion of privacy.
If I ever decide to buy lottery tickets again I’ll check them on a machine or have a store employee check it so I don’t have the state of Washington spying on me.

Look for new jobs
Zero stars, not one. The people who designed and approved the latest update to this app should all be walked out the door. You have taken an app that was simple, effective and intuitive into something useless, annoying, and with some obvious failures that should have been considered way before it was posted for download. I don’t want to give you access to my personal information and I certainly don’t care about your “server error” after I have filled in 15 or more fields in your create an account form.
