Latest version has many UI problems

The latest version has many user interface issues, especially with daily tracking. I make all my entries for diet, for example, but the daily summary screen still shows entries missing. I can’t get back to it showing me how I’m doing on Green Day’s for the week, or where I still need to input data. It has become a frustrating experience, and I would abandon it but my employer gives me benefits if I use it.

Confused

I’m reasonably tech savvy, but this app is confusing and unintuitive. Aside from the clunkyness, why can’t this app automatically track the data from my iPhone’s Fitness/Health app? The only thing this app is designed to track and reward you for are steps. That’s it. I do daily CrossFit workouts in my garage instead of going to a gym. I have a heart rate monitor on my Apple Watch that tracks the calories I’ve burned, but none of this translates to steps. I’m pretty sure that in 20-30 minutes of intense exercise, I’ve burned more calories than taking 7,000 steps. And if somehow I try to convert calories to steps and enter those steps manually, it doesn’t add to the steps I’ve actually taken throughout the day, it overwrites them and only counts what I’ve manually added. Very frustrating and not worth using for someone like myself who does more than just walk.

Best and most helpful app

There is a wealth of information to help you stay healthy. Sharecare has articles, memes, and short videos to help keep your body and mind healthy. One of the features that has really helped with my mental and financial well-being has been the Dave Ramsey classes. The baby steps work! Dave and his team explain clearly and explicitly about debt and the importance of planning for retirement.

Once you get the app, take the time to scroll through it. Take advantage of all it has to offer.

Just want to sync with Garmin

I use this to get monthly rewards (essentially a credit) for steps taken with BCBS. I wish there was an option to directly link with Garmin devices the same way Apple and Fitbit can be linked. The syncing is terrible because I have to use Apple Health as a go between from Garmin Connect. And for some reason Sharecare doesn’t always want to take the data that I can see stored in Health. Sometimes I will magically see at the end of the month all of those steps and days that were missed earlier. The syncing sometimes works pulling down on the track screen many times before the wheel starts turning for 20 seconds. Sometimes it finds itself. Mostly it doesn’t.

Much more than real test

This app has everything .. place to store all your medical, dental and vision cards .. my care team with every physician I’ve seen address and phone numbers even star ratings.. BCBSAZ is integrated with all my bio metrics and WellCare.

This app also keeps track of my sleep to improve my real age. I really love all the yoga content and healthy food articles ..

Check out Dr Oz doing sun salutation.. awesome!

Missing Major Data Point

I enjoy being reminded of the things I need to do to maintain my health. As I thank you for that. As an avid biker, whose data is linked into the Apple Health app & therefore should be tied into this app, I find relying on “Steps walked” to be a significant flaw. Many days I bike thirty to fifty miles, but only walk a few thousand steps - the app needs to be updated to recognise that.

Slow and buggy

The app stinks. My insurance replaced the gym credit with this for rewards, and I like that, but the app itself is pretty hopeless. I have to go into multiple screens to clear a notification every time I go to the chiropractor, the green day qualifiers are not great (as an introvert many social interactions every day is NOT good for my mental health but apparently that’s the only way to get a green day), and even opening the challenge isn’t enough to log steps - I regularly have to manually add steps then it will adjust. Finally I can’t sync with Garmin so I need to go through Apple Health. It’s worth my $20 gift card (I miss Target being an option), but barely. It’s a means to an end and not an independent resource for me. Today I can’t even log in at all. It logged me out and I get an error when I try to log in again.

Activity Fails to Auto Sync with iOS

Beware, if you have the auto logging feature enabled it will still fail to pull the data on a regular basis. You will need to manually go in and correct for missed days. Which might not be so bad unless you are outside the tracking window (in my case 10 days), are subsequently locked from entering data, and have then missed the challenge reward for the month. You can walk every day all you want, but if it is not going to keep up to date with Apple’s health app, this is quite useless.

Pros and cons

I like the app. I do have a few wishes however. I would like the ability to enlarge posts. I can’t always read the text on my smartphone. Also a way to just press a button to indicate that I took all my meds that day would be way easier than having to choose a number on a scroll bar particularly with multiple medications.

Clunky App and Poor Customer Svc

This app needs your care and feeding to work. If you need to engage with customer service, good luck. They’re kind but they couldn’t and didn’t actually help with my issues. The best approach is to figure out how to use the app for your purposes and if you have any issues just let them go…

Improvements I’ve noticed:
- auto-enrollment in step challenges.
- slightly better user interface for tracking.

Cons:
- you have to launch the app regularly, every few days at minimum.
- you have to launch the Apple Health app regularly as well.
- you have to launch your fitness app regularly as well.
Launching these regularly is what enables Sharecare to actually grab your steps data from the Health app. It doesn’t happen automatically in the background.
- rewards expire. Not the end of the world but still a thing.
- the email for the rewards could easily be mistaken for a phishing attempt. It’s out of nowhere and looks suspicious.
