  • Qualities of success

I discovered this app while searching for some motivating content to listen to. I needed something new, something that would launch my desire for growth in a new direction. WOW!!! I found speakers that I had never heard of. I found myself starting the day with a new mindset and I took that motivation and shared it with my network while building my own new path for success.
Today I listened to “The Qualities of Success” on the App. It was so good I wanted to listen to it again. Thanks to your work and the free content on this app I have been able to learn my worth, and discover new motivators. Now I welcome the tools, opportunities, and people to launch me into the next phase. I know this much! I’ll never be negative in my bank account again.

  • This last update ruined my experience with the app

With this new update there isn’t a use for me on the app. I used to recommend this app to my friends and colleagues, but now with the limitations of only being able to listen to 3 recordings or 15 minutes worth of content, I’d be better off going to a competitor. Personally, I was ok listening to the ads in between recordings, but I feel as if y’all got greedy... you offer limited content now to free users. It’s not fun using the app anymore, and it makes it especially difficult to share with others, if I purchased the elite portion, how can I expect my friends and colleagues to do the same? Should I want to share content with them. Unfortunately it’s a huge culture shift from before and I’m sure I’m not alone in saying you’re losing your audience.

    Developer Response

Hi there, We definitely understand your frustration with the new policies with the app. However, we were the only self-improvement app in the market that was offering so much content for free for so long. As you can imagine, Peptalk is a business. We have people on payroll, overheads fees, and are spending a lot money on content creation and partnerships. Licensing fees are not cheap, but our goal is to offer more and more exclusive content to keep helping people grow and become their best self. We were in a situation where we couldn't keep improving the product or the content - or maybe even have to stop completely - if we didn't set up a paywall, like most of our competitors do. With this new version, Peptalk Original, proprietary podcasts, journey playlists - all the content that was previously reserved to Elite members is now offered for free to everyone, for a limited time. Along with our whole catalog. Besides, it takes time and effort to organize all of this content in curated playlists and more time and effort to personalize the suggestions to fit each user's needs. We feel that it is only fair to ask for a small monthly fee to unlock the unlimited access and get the most value. Ultimately, this will help us keep Peptalk alive and create more value over time. We'll also be adding more free features soon. We hope you understand and would appreciate if you could reconsider your rating. Thank you!
  • Let’s support this app

Great app, customer service is excellent. If you like the app, upgrade and pay, lets keep this app alive by supporting it.
  • Can do better with inspirational content from women

Interesting app idea. Not for me but probably very useful for a lot of people who like self help and motivational content.
One thing though, there’s almost no thumbnail of any female motivational audio. And I clicked over 20 audios randomly on different topics that only two of them are female. There are lots of inspirational women out there so maybe you can improve this gender ratio if you want female users onboard. I have enough of men telling me what to do in real life. :)

  • How did it get such a high rating?

I was able to listen to one pep talk before it tried to force me to pay $13. I listened to a 6 minute talk on ‘how to mentally prepare your mind for fasting’ but it didn’t tell me how at all. All he spoke about was some lame story about Buddha, about aligning yourself with god and how great he is at fasting. No way will I pay a cent to this pointless drivel. A good percentage of the podcasts are filled with music that sounds like 1000 cats attacking a chalk board.

  • Love, but I have some suggestions

This app is great for motivation or advice! There is just one thing I want to suggest. I wish there was a way for you to see what audios you have completed. Before, they would turn darker or have a check mark or SOMETHING to let you know, I do remember! Also, as someone else has mentioned, I really miss the old theme. The new theme just seems so void of life and boring, totally different from the old one. If these two things got changed the app would be perfect! I can’t think of anything else it needs honesty 😄

Hi there, Thank you for your feedback. It's very important to us, as we're growing and learning along the way. 🤓 We strongly believe in the power of habit. Our users often play the same playlists in repeat when they work out, or when they wake up to get a boost before going to work. We didn't want to make them think that if a playlist is marked as "completed", they shouldn't listen to it again. Just like on Spotify, if you like a song you should be able to listen to it over and over again :) That being said, we'll brainstorm some ideas on how to include audio completion in the app in a very smart, frictionless manner. 😊 As for the theme - we gathered a lot of feedback from our users before doing the makeover. We know it's a big change from the old one, and it's always hard to adjust to change. But we're convinced that the new theme — brighter, more readable, user-friendly, modern — conveys our values better than before. And stay tuned : lots of new features coming your way 🚀💯🔥
  • Was great until...

App was decent until the most recent update. IMHO the old app had a much better look, this new white/pink layout looks pretty weak and not very ‘pep-ish’. But more importantly, as others have mentioned, this new update is just randomly missing important features that the old app had...one of the things I really looked forward to each morning, in addition to Peptalk audio, was the daily motivational quotes (usually overlaying great pictures of the people who said them) that showed up as the app was loading. You were able to choose other things like custom motivational texts instead as well. I’m really not sure what the point of this update was, but don’t see myself staying long at all if this is the way the app’s going to be.

Update: The developers were kind enough to respond. Glad to see that they’re working on improving the app and bringing back the old features but revamped. Excited to see what’s to come.

Hi there, We appreciate your feedback. We're working hard to ship as many product updates as possible within the next days/weeks. You can be sure that the daily reminders and daily quotes are gonna be back very soon, with an improved design / easier to share with friends etc. All previous features will eventually be back and at least 5 new ones will be added along with this update. If you liked the old version, please stay tuned and wait to see what comes next. We're very excited about the overall progress we're gradually bringing : improved suggestion algorithm, faster loading times, user-friendly interface, social features, and also a ton of new exclusive content from our partner speakers. If you want to give us some other feedback or suggest some cool features, please contact the support team from the app. This will help us progress!
  • The App that will change your life!!!!

This is a awesome app it motivated me to get up and get better and now I’m becoming a D1 athlete and it’s because of this app helping get up every morning and getting on a grind. But it’s not completely free the elite version is the best but you have to pay but it’s worth it. But the free version is good enough and got me through a lot. I know people who are reading this are think this is some old man lying about a app but it really is worth downloading and this is coming from a 16 year old kid who doubted himself for the longest until I found something that motivated me to be better and get better💯

  • Lonely

I get lonely cuz I have no friends therefore I play this to feel wanted.
  • Change.

Being busy with work? Your home? Life?
Before I found this app I would listen to music in the gym or on my way to work and sure it would do its job to get me motivated sometimes. It just so happened that an add for this app came up on my Instagram feed and I figured why not give it a shot? Ever since then everytime I hit the iron or am grueling to wake up and take my drive to work I’m instead motivated to be the absolute best me I can be. I know it may sound cliche but peptalk really has made a difference for me, being in the military maintenance field sure does take a large chunk out of my day and will leave me drained of energy but after a good meal and some “peptalk” I’m ready to get after it and grind my way to be great.
    It’s a good decision I promise you
