Glitch?
Trying to access Ponteland centre today but all day been saying centre is not online. Rang call centre & they say no problem with app. Tried deleting and re-installing. Tried putting in another device - still same message “your centre is not online”
Just a terrible app.
The idea of being able to see how busy the gym will be when you book a session is good, but that’s the only good thing about this app.
There is no intuitive way to log in. I had to click around various settings until I found a login prompt. The smaller, local gym I use is nested under one of the larger ones and there is absolutely no way to find this other than dumb luck.
And not really app related, but any attempts to contact them with an account query go unanswered. I spent half an hour on hold being told what number I was in the queue and when I got to number 1 I realised the only reason you move up this queue is because whoever was at the front gives up - nobody ever answers.

Horrible layout and buggy
Trying to book swimming with money they refunded me on there is an endeavour… may as well have refunded me Monopoly money as it’s absolutely useless when the app won’t let me use it. Sort it out as this is the worst app I’ve ever used. Layout it awful and whole thing looks like it was designed by a child for GCSE IT…shocking !!!

Off putting
Recently downloaded the app as it seems the only way to swim in this area of Northumberland, I saw the reviews about direct debit payments and elected to pay as I go just in case. Once your past registration it is relatively easy to book a swim slot, when it comes to paying its not so good,having to input card details etc each time. I gave feedback via the app suggesting Apple Pay etc ( works well on EBAY) and I got a reply saying there is ongoing issues with the app, that’s it no further info.

Significant Improvement
Having seen this app evolve I can comfortably say it’s much more impressive.

Much less cluttered menus at last.
Login issues continue - logging in to Learn to Swim is fine for accessing learner records, but very clumsy for making bookings under that learner’s login. It should be possible to go back to the main menu under that login and make bookings accordingly.
It would be good if anonymous, non-public feedback on instructors could be left to help improve standards

Why does everything have to be done by app?
Downloaded app simply to book a swimming session. Pressed on wrong centre by mistake and half hour later still can not navigate back to list of centres. Even shutting down and starting app again it only opens to the centre I selected by mistake.
Easy to use
Most things can be booked with ease. It’s often a lot quicker than standing in the queue at reception.
Didn’t take direct debit and now I’m not a member!!!!!!
Seriously, we went through the whole rigmarole of joining the gym. We were having a great time. Today we tried to book swimming for Sunday, oh wait the direct debit documents haven’t been processed so now we have to sort it all out again! App is ok, administration really bad

Why does this app even exist? Why not just have the ability to book on the website?
Although having looked at the website it’s not great either. That’s a point, maybe you can book on the website but it’s just impossible to find?

Simply terrible
The most horrific non intuitive app I’ve ever used. Registering was a minefield of useless redirects and page crashing. Once you’re in it’s so cluttered and busy with information you’ve got no interest in it’s almost comical. I appreciate its free but the cost of wine needed to get me through the hell of registering was cost enough! I would say avoid at all costs, but seen as any “public” pool in Northumberland needs to be booked via this app then I guess you’re snookered. Good luck… you’ll need it.

Chocolate teapots spring to mind
Registering was painful and took over half an hour of faff. Finally got a login sorted and lo and behold the booking facility is just about as efficient. I've given up after an hour just trying to book a swim.
Surely you have a duty to be making exercise as accessible as possible for all. This app has a long way to go before it will be capable of doing that

Layout home page
For me the home page is to busy and very cluttered , surely a better layout could be achieved ???
The other issue I have is that I can’t open up msgs , I get the red bell icon but they disappear when I click on them and it does not even open in another page , I would have thought it should just open up automatically

Very Useful
This works well for me every time. Very simple to use providing up to date availability. I swim most days and it allows me to choose the least crowded times. Quick and simple every time and it has never failed me since I started using it in July 2020. Some of the more negative reviews on here seem to relate to registering. If you are already a member, paying monthly, I can’t see what problem you might have but if you’re a PAYG customer then maybe that’s a different matter (I’m on monthly).

Seems ok.
Logged in 1st time no trouble viewing sessions, made a booking. Shows spaces available and can top up account for payments. I registered via the website.
AVOID!
DO NOT INSTALL! You can’t create an account; it gets you stuck in an endless loop, but MAGICALLY gets you far enough in the registration to set up a direct debit! So they get you financially committed but don’t allow you to complete the registration, log in or book a session. ABSOLUTE CON.... Now I have the ball ache of requesting a cancellation for my Direct Debit somehow without a registered account! Just AVOID. I’m not sure this is even legal!

2020 working well
Lots of negative reviews deterred me from downloading it but the app has been working fine in 2020 and so far no problems. If the class / activity is not being provided (like bouldering currently due to the measures) you can’t click on the button so there’s no accidental bookings. This review is for the Willowburn centre.

Very poorly designed app
Downloaded this app to book some swimming sessions. On simply attempting to register my details, the app crashed every time that I tried to enter my details. Without registration, I could not log in. Without logging in, it was impossible to book anything. Sadly, this app is unfit for purpose.
I wonder if the developer ever thought about conducting beta testing to identify and fix such fundamental flaws BEFORE releasing it to the public?

In serious need of a fix
Breaks down all the time. I constantly have to delete and reinstall (as per other reviews) to be able to make bookings. There is no waiting list functionality which is really annoying as so many people drop out last minute so to get a space in popular classes I have to keep checking back. Now I can’t book at all because the app is broken and the website is down too.

Crashes constantly
Every time I go to use this app it crashes! I constantly have to delete and reinstall then it looses all my data and I have to input that again! Then guess what? While I’m putting my centres back on it crashes again. It’s totally rubbish but it’s the only way I can make bookings in advance. Get it sorted Active Northumberland or I’ll be asking for a refund if I can’t make bookings!!
