Contractors they send will find (create) a reason for service to be denied. If you contest it they charge you another fee to send someone for a second opinion.
AC unit not coming on
I started this request by asking for a chat. The chat kept giving me 4 minutes, 8 minutes, 8 minutes, 4 minutes, 8 minutes until I just gave up. No one ever came on to chat!! I started the chat request around 6 and it’s now 8:20. Bad chat service. It left me with no choice but to request service. 🤨

It was super easy to use. I first talked to an expert for free to troubleshoot and fix the issue. Unfortunately, the tornado burned the motherboard so I had to get on the app and request and I’m home visit. I only think that was different is that the price increased from $75 to $125. I understand inflation is impacting all of us.

Reliable. Worth the money
My first house on which I had an AHS contract that came with it when I bought it in 2002. The house built in the late 18th century early 19th century in Baltimore city downtown. Every system in that thing was old. Over the length of my contract which I had for about 12 years (the whole time I own the home) American home shield successfully fixed various systems or even replaced them when necessary. I never had a complaint with the work! Fast-forward about another 14 years later and I buy another house and I’m using them again. It’s so much easier than it used to be! Used to be you had to wait on the phone forever to get an agent now it’s done thru an app and it’s fast.

So far I’ve made two claims and everything went great. I was with another home warranty company, and it was an awful experience.
Not always available
Sometimes they can’t find a contractor for the repairs and the solution for that is that I have to find one myself then they make that contractor jump through hoops to be approved. The process is long and tedious.

Submitting the request is very easy however it takes one week to someone come and do the job.
