Unable to scan passport … dont waste your time
App no longer functional
The Airside app no longer functions. User can log in, but it does not connect to wifi or work on cellular data. I then select “Retry” and also attempted to “use offline”. When I “use offline” and attempt to update a credential, it asks me to login again. I have verified through other apps (browsers, etc) that my device is indeed online. This process is cyclical and reproducible, so clearly a major bug.

Mobile passport was wonderful
This app doesn’t work!
Had to use different emails for each iPhone but it worked out.
We contacted Airside to see if we could use the same email address on our two phones to set up profiles. It wouldn’t let us in the end, but Dave did his best to find a way for us to get set up! He kept getting back to us with suggestions to try. We’re happy with the help provided and it didn’t take Dave long to respond to us. We were also a bit concerned because we read another review that said the App didn’t work with Canadian passports, but ours worked.

Doesn’t Read Canadian Passports
The chip reader function fails and there is no way to bypass this step. Renders the whole process useless.
Airside Digital Identity don’t work for me. They keep changing it!
It’s no convenient. Mobile passport worked a lot better!
Poorly designed
App does not have a ‘login’ feature but tells you to delete the app when it stops working. Ended up getting stuck in a loop of trying to recreate an account that already existed and then having the app tell me to delete it again

I have trouble accessing my account. It will not let me gain access!!!!
Not worth the headache
Downloaded the app to upload my drivers license and connect to my airline accounts. First drivers license a was not and option but was able to upload my passport (only reason not a 1). There are now services available to add my airlines or global entry or tsa. Ugghhh.
Garbage
Spent 30 minutes trying to verify the account with the code they sent. It simply didn’t work on 5 tries.

Would not let me verify email. It would send me the code but the link did not work and neither did copying the code. Gave up and deleted it

Only good for passport holders with some countries!
After spending over 30 minutes taking a selfie, scan the passport and chip, I only found out that my passport is not eligible. It doesn’t say why. Checked the website and they name the countries that work for this app. Why doesn’t this warning show before I enter all the info.

Can’t read chip
Either my passport doesn’t have a passport or this can’t read it. Either way, I can’t use this app because of this issue.

Tried with both 14 Pro and 16 Pro on Canadian Passports. Won’t read the chip. Same phones and passports work with Air Canada’s digital ID

The scanner is system doesn’t work well. Took us over 30mins to get it to authenticate us.
NFC not working on iOS
Unable to scan any of our passports using 4 different recent iPhones. They all scan 6 dots and then fail “unable to read passport”. 4 different iOS devices, 4 different passports.

Good luck getting it to work with an iPhone 15 - thankfully my wife has a droid and got it to actually work. Alaska air app needs to get it where you can load your passport directly into their app & quit wasting my time with their bush league requirements.
