Good for structure
Never seen this before but I personally think it’s excellent.
The videos are great so you know what you’re doing.
Good start to an app, needs work
As someone doing physio, I want to be able to:
- Do my exercises just with audio cues. Right now I only hear the “start” cue, no end cue, so I don’t know when to stop a rep. I can’t stare at the phone during all my exercises.
- Hear audio cues for counting reps. Some exercises just say “do 10 reps” without a timer/beep. One solution with the Virtual Lucy app is to allow the user to time themself doing one rep, and then repeat that timer/beep 10 times so the user doesn’t have to count the reps themselves, they can just focus on doing the exercise correctly.
- Skim through the video to the part I want to rewatch. Not just pause/play.
- Skip exercises that are painful. Right now, you have to play through all exercises.
- Pause and rewind the exercises. Sometimes I need to pause the timer because eg I have to get the door. Sometimes I want to redo an exercise because I realized midway I was doing it wrong.
App bugs
Half-baked app
But app itself feels half baked. Exercise has some sound notifications, which might be helpful if we can’t look at screen, but it’s not synced with reps and breaks. App allows you to fill the checking review form… but doesn’t allow you to send it 🤦♂️ Articles are nice, but it would be good to have some indicators which has been read. The list goes on, they really should hire someone from UX design, or at least test their own app.
Basic
App not working
A good substitute
Is anyone testing this?
Awful app didn’t work at all for me!
Crashes on startup
The instruction video is clear
So far it is rubbish
Unusable
App never loaded again after first use
I ended up just using YouTube physio videos
Doesn’t accept password
Physio good, app needs work
At first it would only come up for 3 seconds even though it’s supposed to be a 30 second exercise, now it’s saying I need to do 3 repetitions but won’t stop and I cannot progress past the exercise, meaning I have to end a workout early
Crashes immediately

Response from developer
Hi Amanda, we're really sorry to hear about your experience and appreciate you taking the time to leave feedback. Our goal is to provide a personalised and supportive rehab journey for every patient, and we’re disappointed to hear we fell short in your case. We’ve recently experienced a spike in referral numbers, which unfortunately led to some short delays in our physiotherapists responding to messages and tailoring rehab programmes. This isn't the level of service we aim for, and we’re actively increasing clinical capacity to ensure all patients get timely support. Although one of our physiotherapists did respond to your message in app and design you a bespoke exercise programme shortly after, we completely understand your frustration. We've fed this back to your health insurance provider and are activity working with them to ensure the pathway to face-to-face and digital physiotherapy are completely clear. If you'd like to discuss further please reach out via contact@ascenti.co.uk so we can follow up personally. We are constantly looking for ways to improve our app, and the overall experience to our patients, so really do appreciate you taking the time to leave us your feedback. Best wishes, The Ascenti Reach team
