Edit: the price goes up unannounced. I’m now paying around $80 for just my dog. Still it’s peace of mind, but I don’t like unannounced and no-reason price hikes.

But as long as there’s no pre-existing medical history on the cause of his death, which there wasn’t, aspca paid out.

Will charge you even if you don’t want the service anymore !!
They stopped charging me in 2025 as the service sucks. You have to have it for 3-6 months prior to being able to make a claim which renders the insurance useless. Every time my pet has had an emergency they were unwilling to assist in payment so I stopped paying. No option to close the service and if you attempt to call their customer service line it won’t connect you to anything. In 2026 they picked up charging me again but charged me twice in one month for 127 dollars even though I had only been paying 60 something, I made a claim against it and they went ahead and charged me another 65 dollars. Do not choose this place! They don’t care about your pets! They just care about money!!

Glitches
It used to be sooo easy to submit a claim on the member site. It has become nearly impossible. I keep getting the "hang tough we're working on it" freeze and I either have to re-enter the information or it won't let me. Entering a claim on the website by email is much more time consuming to start with. I have been happy until now...been with ASPCA for five years. Please fix the member site glitches!

App/Website Update Sucks
I never used to have a problem with this app or the website, but ever since they did the update that requires a verification code it doesn’t work. The app won’t pop up with a window to input the code and when I try to do it via the website it doesn’t let me hit the submit button after entering the code.

DO NOT USE THIS INSURANCE
This is the worst insurance ever!! This people does not explain you their real coverage or when it actually starts. If you do a claim before 15 days, they will not cover your pet at that time, and they will not do it ever in their life. Because it is in the “record” that you pet had it before the 15 days period.
Before you do anything, it is better to call as you will cancel the coverage and they will tell you all the real policies. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS INSURANCE !

They're good at collecting monthly payments, but when I requested reimbursement for services generated due to an emergency with my cat, I never received the reimbursement. I still wasted my time because they asked me for receipts and medical reports over and over again via email, and I got tired. It's better to cancel your insurance. I don't recommend it.

The best!!
I’ve used ASPCA insurance for all of my pets for about 5+ years and have had nothing but a good experience!! if it was not for them my pets would not have made it through a lot of illnesses. Thank you ASPCA for all that you do!!
Waste of money
I wish I had anything good to say about ASPCA considering I pay $150 a month for it. They will do anything BUT help you. There has been numerous times I have tried to reach out. They either don't reimburse with claims or they do as little as they can. And believe me, I have spent hours studying my plan and they still under reimburse me AND oh god if you want to appeal the claim… good luck. It takes 60-90 business days. find somewhere else!! And if aspca sees this contact me.

Can’t even log in.
Purchased the insurance through the website. Went to the app to log in, and it said I had to register my account. Go through that process, click submit, and it tells me my account is already registered. Back and forth back and forth. I’m in my account USING MY EMAIL on the website, yet the app is now telling me my email isn’t even tied to an account. Horrible app development and methods.

Terrible app
Won’t let me submit photos from my phone and deletes saved claims
System is broke
I had the same issue the last person posted. You get to page 2 and can’t go any further. This has been occurring for months. I haven’t been able to submit 3 claims. When I called the number I was told to delete app and upload again and that did not work either. This is bad!
The app stopped working
At the time of renewal - which was twice the cost charged in years past - the app stopped working. I attempt to sign in but the screen remains frozen. I’ve deleted the app and reinstalled it. Spent time on the phone, to no avail.
I can’t login
The app used to work alright but now I can’t login. I even changed my password just in case that was the issue but it seems the login button just doesn’t do anything when pressed.
Bugs
Seems like the app has some bugs. I am able to start a claim and once I answer the promoted questions it doesn’t allow me to move on from the first step. So the app essentially doesn’t allow me to do what it is meant to do. Customer support information is not easy to find nor is the claim form that they say is an alternate way to submit a claim. I can’t speak to if they pay out on claims or not.

Insurance is good but the App is awful
The app experience is broken! It takes you through all the steps to file a new claim and then gets stuck on step 2 - adding why you took your pet to the vet. The next button doesn’t function and the save for later just keeps spinning with a hang tight message. One just can’t submit a claim via the app.

Nothing works
Please fix the issue of not being able to load. I have restarted several times and nothing seems to work, it just keeps spinning. Doesn’t matter which link I push within the app it never pulls up in an adequate amount of time. I just went back to it and it is still there spinning, trying to fetch what I am requesting. Love the insurance but hate the app.

Come on! This app is a joke!
My toddler could make a more effective app! The pages are blank, it shuts down on you. It’s a ridiculous excuse for an app. Their website is not much better.
It’s so frustrating and difficult to put a claim in that next year when my dogs renewal comes up, I will be changing providers!

Cannot Submit Claim
I’ve tried this on the website and app, I cannot successfully submit my claim. Seems like a waste of money to have insurance if I can’t even use it to get reimbursed.
