About
Axon Outpost is a secure mobile application built specifically to register and provision Axon Outpost ALPR devices in the field.
The app guides users through a streamlined setup process, enabling fast deployment and reliable setup of Outpost units to your Axon Evidence account. Designed for rugged field conditions, the app operates entirely from a mobile device, removing the need for laptops or external tools.
Key Capabilities:
Bluetooth Device Discovery
Quickly connect to nearby Outpost devices in pairing mode
Network Configuration:
Set up and verify the device's internet access via built-in LTE or optional USB-C Ethernet.
Clock Sync & Firmware Updates:
Sync the device clock with your mobile device and optionally check for the latest firmware.
Secure Registration:
Log in using Axon OAuth2.0 authentication and register devices to the appropriate Axon Evidence account.
Diagnostics During Setup:
Monitor battery status, connectivity, firmware version, and ALPR test results to confirm device health.
Important Usage Note:
While using this app to set up a device, do not use VoIP (ie. WhatsApp, Viber, etc.) or VPN applications. These apps may force your phone to switch network connections (ie. from Wi-Fi to cellular), which can interrupt the connection to the Outpost device and disrupt setup.
