Worst Update
July 8 2026 if you bought the camera feeder, return it immediately! This has to be the worst App ever! You used to be able to just tap on the image and see a live feed of the birds eating. Now you have to go through three steps and by the time you get to the camera, the bird is already gone! Extremely disappointing, and not worth it! This is terrible, please fix it ASAP.

Misidentifies 75% of the birds
The AI used in this App to identify birds at the feeder is severely inaccurate. Finches identified as Wild Turkeys, Mexican Duck (in NE Ohio) etc… I do like posting the inaccurate images and descriptions to my friends because the misidentification is so wildly inaccurate, we get a good laugh about it. The BirdReel Device that the images and video are taken from is good (though this is my first smart birdfeeder so I have nothing to compare it to).

So many ways it’s inferior
I bought this for the solar panels on the roof. The camera doesn’t take photos or videos when birds appear. Sure, get notifications. The app is extremely clunky.
Waste of money
I have never been able to connect or activate the software. They never send a code for sign in and instruct you to call customer service but provide no phone or email. What a waste of time and money.
Very disappointed
The solar panels do not do anything, you could potentially buy third party solar panels to see if that extends the life, but I get a day out of the battery with solar panels on.
Wifi doesn’t not connect well, even right beside the router, app reads poor connection. The most disappointing, is that the notifications do not work. My iPhone is set up for notifications and the app needs to be set up in three different locations, and even with everything set up the notifications still do not work. I wish I could return this for a full refund!!

Terrible app matches defective hardware
Highly recommend avoiding this company. The app has been glitchy since day 1. Camera could not be set up with reconfiguring my home WiFi to 2.4ghz and using an extremely simple password. Then camera kept disconnecting from app. Now camera won’t turn on at all and I’ve contacted support through the app only to receive 11 identical responses: “Dear customer. Please leave a message. We are collecting all the information and will reply to you within 24 hours.” Obviously no support is going to arrive! Writing off this little adventure - tossing the camera and uninstalling the app. Save your money. Buy something else.

I have had nothing but problems with the birdhouse and camera since purchase. No instruction sheet with how to put anything together. Instructions in the app for setting up the camera have no trouble shooting sequences or help. Worked for about a week and now won't connect to wifi. Weak wifi on camera. I have another feeder with camera from another company that has been great for two years. Picks up wifi brilliantly. This app makes you reel through the whole day of feeding to find the one bird you are interested in with no snap shot function. The company needs to improve their product and the app to make both user friendly.

Doesn’t work after couple weeks
The device worked fine for the first few weeks and then had trouble connecting to wifi and would go offline. After a month, it completely stopped working. No customer service.

AI recognizes squirrels as bids so the automatic alarm doesn’t go off.
The camera feed to initially even view the LIVE video stream is beyond slow and lags a few seconds behind. It takes almost a minute for the feed to load…. Garbage. You’re better off buying a different camera bird feeder.

good for price of the feeder
i love the feeder and i get to see my favorite birds and it brings me joy to see them be well fed but this app is kinda terrible. it takes forever to get the live feed it’s just slow and when i first set it up months ago it was quite difficult. but it definitely works and i also see the little clips of the birds and it makes me happy, good for the price.

The app is terrible, wish the camera had a better depth of field.
Works great with a few suggestions
Our feeder works great when it connects. It sometimes goes off line for no apparent reason. We’ve had it almost a month and I’m figuring out the features on my own . An instruction booklet would be nice to have.

This app is a hot mess. There’s no real guide to what you are doing or how to get the functions it claims to have to work. The app is clumsy, hard to use, not intuitive, has little documentation and what is there is in the most horrible broken English I have seen.
The “help” is in FAQs only, and are unreadable and incomprehensible. Just getting the camera to do basic functions is a chore, but if you do manage to capture images out of it, go buy yourself a lottery ticket because it’s that same dumb luck to get anything out of the app.
Navigating the app just to try to find information is a nightmare.
The camera itself could potentially be great, but you’ll never find out with this app.

Bird ID is very poor
It identified a sparrow as a duck! Also XP, on cold mornings the camera lens fogs up. And mounting the feeder on a wall means that the roof can’t be opened because the latch becomes inaccessible. The pole is neatly useless because it has an unstable base. Give this feeder a miss.
Weird
The bird identification is wrong more than half of the time. Watching video of the birds is fun, however.
