GREAT SUPPORT

If your NFC is a success you must keep the device away from your phone in order to connect to network without an error when restoring the wallet. Thanks a lot to support I had no idea and they were supper helpful, definitely recommend this wallet!

Hardware Failed AVOID!

The hardware failed. Support was useless. Would have been better off using anything but Bitkey. If you want to protect your crypto assets, AVOID Bitkey.

Does what they advertise

I bought a Bitkey even though I own more than one Coldcard hardware wallet — which I still consider the best possible choice for a serious Bitcoiner. I was seeking an alternate system for my wife to more easily access bitcoin she has purchased on her own. I want her to keep full independence but she is challenged by using a Mk 4 Coldcard and Sparrow where you do a lot of microSD card inserting and the steps are very specific. It is still the gold standard, I believe, so I thought to cure the problem with a Coldcard Q. It's a huge improvement over the Mk 4 but is still challenging for her, so…

What I am now doing is moving her BTC from an exchange after she buys it into a Coldcard Q wallet with her name on it. Then I send funds to her Bitkey, which she can subsequently spend far more easily using her Strike account. IMHO, this is the best combo I've found to make life easy for her and yet keep cold storage security.

Thanks, Bitkey! I am keeping the one I bought to learn and test and because I like using it and I want to stay informed, but I happily bought another one for her.

FAQ

What does Bitkey do?

Bitkey is a comprehensive solution for owning and managing bitcoin. It functions as a mobile app, a hardware device, and offers recovery tools, all designed to give you full control over your private keys and bitcoin.

How does Bitkey ensure security?

Bitkey utilizes a 2-of-3 multi-signature wallet system. This means three private keys are used to protect your bitcoin, and you always need two out of these three keys to authorize any transaction, providing enhanced security.

How much does Bitkey cost?

The Bitkey hardware wallet needs to be purchased. You can visit their official website, https://bitkey.world, to buy the hardware device. The app itself is part of the overall solution.

Can I recover my bitcoin if I lose my phone or hardware?

Yes, Bitkey provides recovery tools that help you regain access to your bitcoin even if you lose your phone, hardware device, or both. A key feature is that this recovery process does not require a traditional seed phrase.

What are the main use cases for Bitkey?

The primary use case is for individuals who want to take full control of their bitcoin holdings, moving away from exchange custody. It's ideal for sending, receiving, and transferring bitcoin safely, with added security features like daily spending limits.
