Not trustworthy
Great App Until They Keep Your Security Deposit
My lease ended on May 31, and I am still waiting for my security deposit to be returned. Despite repeated follow-ups and multiple promises, the issue remains unresolved.
What I find most frustrating is that Blueground continues to send me frequent marketing emails encouraging me to book another apartment while they still haven’t returned my money.
A good app cannot make up for poor customer service and failure to honor financial obligations. Trust is everything when renting a home, and unfortunately, Blueground has completely lost mine.
I would not recommend this service.
Exceptional living solutions!
Location
Extremely dissatisfied.
I booked accommodation in good faith, only to be told that I had to leave early because the landlord wanted the property back. This has left me in the incredibly stressful position of having to find alternative accommodation at short notice in Dubai.
What has been most frustrating is the lack of flexibility and understanding. I have explained multiple times that I am currently out of the country and don’t return until just a couple of days before they expect me to move out. Despite this, I continue to receive emails asking me to confirm my final move-out date before I have even been able to secure somewhere else to live.
Instead of feeling supported, I have felt pressured to resolve a situation that I did not create. Trying to arrange a new apartment remotely, while overseas, has been incredibly stressful and time-consuming.
While Blueground has said they will refund the unused portion of my stay and reimburse reasonable moving costs, the overall handling of this situation has been disappointing. I expected much better communication, empathy and support.
Based on my experience, I would be cautious about relying on Blueground if you need certainty over your accommodation.
no support after lock out
The app actually feels really good and is useful
Bugs galore; no effort by Blueground
Exceptional
Stay in East Boston
Great support and easy booking and move-in process.
Legal Mess, Life Upended
What followed was a month of sparse, cryptic chat messages from Blueground — never a phone call — flip-flopping between “please disregard the notice,” “you’ll need to move out but we can’t say when,” and “you can stay another two weeks.”
When it came time to collect my next monthly payment, they suddenly became very confident I could stay the whole month. By this point I knew for a fact they had no way of knowing. A tenant’s rights attorney confirmed that with similar lawsuits sometimes resolving in as little as a month, I could have received a final eviction notice with only 5 days to vacate — and Blueground had no way of guaranteeing my stay. There’s a real possibility they had been pocketing tenant payments for months without paying the landlord, and according to the property manager, all 10 or so Blueground tenants in the building were in the same situation.
Facing that level of negligence and uncertainty was extremely taxing and disruptive to my life. I decided to move out early and end my relationship with Blueground entirely. I had to go $2K over budget due to unplanned hotel and storage costs, but I’m glad it’s over. With so many competitors for medium-term rentals, do NOT trust Blueground with your money.
Misleading Parking Information and Extremely Stressful Experience
The most frustrating part is that these apartments are marketed and priced as premium rentals. We are paying an extremely high amount of rent, yet dealing with basic problems like not even being able to park our car near our home.
We have a 3.5-year-old child, and the moving process was already extremely exhausting for our family. I tried to be understanding at first because there were multiple issues during move-in over the weekend, but the parking situation has become completely unacceptable.
I have spent hours driving around searching for parking at night, was left without a parking space on the street, and eventually even received a parking ticket because we were forced to park wherever we could find a spot. I shared videos and documentation with the company, but there is still no real solution.
With the World Cup approaching, the area is becoming even more crowded, which will make parking almost impossible in the evenings. Paying such a high rental price while dealing with this level of stress every single day is simply unreasonable.
If parking is not actually guaranteed or realistically available, this should be stated clearly before people rent these apartments.
