Can’t log in
The most recent update doesn’t work. It asked for an authorization code and then sends you right back to asking for another authorization code.
So disappointed!
We have struggled with Invisible Fence and the app not working since day 1. Customer service is always friendly but not helpful- they want to charge $99 for a service visit when the issue is with the system and the app, things out of our control. We consistently do not get alerts when the dog leaves the yard, though all systems are “working”. We spent a lot of money on this system and are now looking for alternatives. Do not waste your money.

One of the worst apps I’ve ever used
Absolutely pitiful app. I don’t get alerts if my pets leave the fence. One the off chance I DO get an alert, it doesn’t turn off when the pet returns to the yard. I feel like those 2 things are the primary reason for this app to exist, so I’m really not sure what purpose this app serves at all. Total garbage.

Be careful
We’ve had good luck and bad luck with this system/app. Sometimes (key word, sometimes) we get notified of dead batteries, pets escaping, etc but other times we don’t get any notifications at all.
Our experience: we had a collar that did not check in for several hours but we were not notified of any issue and one of our dogs ended up outside the fence line and found herself almost a mile away from the house, at night time. That sinking feeling of losing our pet was terrible, especially when we were told “how reliable” this system is. If you want a system that is constantly flaking out, look into this one as this was not the first time that happened. We are currently looking at alternatives for the safety of our pets.

Doesn’t work
Long time invisible fence user. Previous “classic” fence and collar were simple tech but effective.
The new Boundary plus is basically the classic system with “smart” features. I can assure you it is not smart and has never worked as advertised and was more than twice as expensive as classic system. Installed the boundary plus system when I moved over a year and a half ago and have never had it work correctly. Also spent roughly $1000 on the doggy door, which has never worked either.
Here are the issues with invisible fence:
Boundary Plus app:
- does not reliably notify you if your dog gets out.
- does not reliably send push notifications. These can be delayed 15min to indefinitely as far as I can tell
- is the most basic, no frills app ever, even if it worked perfect as adevertised, it would still be meh
Boundary plus system:
- if your dog gets out and comes back in, the correction sometimes wont stop and they will repeatedly get shocked until the battery dies
- the alarm on the unit will not turn off if they re-enter the safe zone
Doggy door:
- has never worked
- had two techs come over a total of four times and no one could get it working
- this is what it does, which helps explain the backwards engineering:
1. Collar recognizes its near door door
2. Collar sends a message to base station
3. Base station sends message to invisible fence servers (which are unreliable and slow)
4. App server responds back to base station
5. Base station sends signal to door
- So your dog would need to go to door and wait, in my case that wait is indefinitely. Makes no sense, the collar should unlock door directly and immediately when its close, it does not work like that, the app unlocks the door after the signal travels through hoops.
I just got the new GPS collar. In case anyone was interested, stay away - thing is comically huge. If you have a great dane or a mastiff, maybe it might be ok for very short periods of time. It weighs about a pound and is just so laughably enourmous. The pictures of the scale they show in the ads is absolutely false advertising.
I really hope invisible fence can get their act together and solve these problems. Hardware and software. Every response to a 1 or 2 star comment is the same canned empty corporate response. The 5 star review of the door working feels like a plant. No need to respond to me, just please fix your stuff or start charging more appropriately. I paid a LOT of money for this stuff and am no better off the substantially cheaper “analog” system.

App never works
I’m reading reviews from a year ago. The developer said they were going to fix. Push notifications are non existent. My dog can be out of the yard across the boundary… Nothing. I paid good money for the system and it doesn’t work unless I’m actually watching the dog.
Completely broken
It doesn’t work at all. The *only* thing that works is battery status. It’s an extra grand for this smart system and so far the only function that works is that. 🤪 We get NO notifications if our dogs cross the fence. On top of that breaks won’t populate in the history thing for days or a week. When they finally do they’re on the wrong day. The breaks from July 4th just loaded under July 6th. Today is July 5th. Totally useless.

Horrible App
It is difficult to use. Errors. Fails to notify you if your dog is out. Ours stopped transmitting and no notification. It wasn’t until we thought it was strange that he was near the boundary with no tone or shock. Difficult to reset once your dog is out. No live time data. I don’t need to know my dog is out tomorrow when it happened today.

Never works
As far as I can tell, the app hasn’t worked for a month as of 2/20/24. When it does “work”, it’s worthless.
Worthless app
Zero stars because the thing is not the least bit accurate. Will tell me my dog is out of his boundary when he is sleeping next to me. And when he actually does get out of his boundary, I’m notified hours later after he had been missing and returned home.
Terrible app
They convinced us to get the latest version of the fence after we moved in to a new home and the old line was cut. They just kept telling us how amazing the app was and that it was a game changer. It’s not! It’s absolute trash and not worth the extra money. Our puppy ran through the fence and we never got a notification. Not while it was happening or after. A few days later a neighbor let us know our older dog had gotten out. I checked and his battery was dead. Again, no notification. We absolutely don’t think it’s worth the extra money for the app when it hasn’t been updated in over a year and you can’t rely on it to protect your dog.

APP NEEDS WORK !!!! - Same as Jun 12 review
Push notifications will not stay consistency on. That is a big issue. Data can’t be updated. The system is good, but the app needs work. Haven’t updated in a year???
Keeps crashing
I had the system installed yesterday, and downloaded the app.
However.
Every time you want to sign in it sends an email with an access code - which would normally not be such a bother, but in this case as soon as I tap “save” to save my pet’s info I have entered, it crashes. Tried reloading app multiple times but all with same result.
At this point the app is useless to me if it keeps crashing. The extra cost for the “smart” system not worth it at all - particularly if the “smart” part is not even functioning.
However.

Poor quality app - Needs improvements
cannot update my pets profile information (photo, DOB, weight etc.).
Constantly booted out of app prompting resign in with verification code via email when trying to make changes.
False out of bounds alerts (this has happened several times)
No way to reset a false out of bounds alert, the app just resets itself on its own after a few minutes … or a few hours. Varies with no rhyme or reason
Does not report actual out of bounds accurately - once while training, the dog was out of bounds (fine because it was during training and the dog was on leash, but did not receive an out of bounds alert while dog was out for several minutes)
Data entries don’t occur until midnight the following day and are no where near instantaneous.
App has the potential to be good but it has a way to go. NEEDS TO BE UPDATED IF COMPANIES ARE ADVERTISING APP USE AND CONNECTIVITY BECAUSE THIS PRACTICALLY UNUSABLE

- Apparently this only updates with today’s data tomorrow. It should be real-time.
- I can’t update my dog’s personal data. It just pops up a modal when I save that says “Error”.
- I have never received a push notification ever, even when I know the collar has been out of bounds for a long time.
- As of this writing, the app hasn’t been updated in over a year. I’m not confident anyone is paying attention to these reviews or doing anything to improve this app anymore.

Expensive brick
Wish I hadn’t upgraded to the “smart” service. It wasn’t useful when it worked and now I switched wi-fi networks and can’t reconnect. Also can’t get ahold of anyone for help. Add to that the terrible install and my dog is afraid to go into the yard and it was a waste of money.
Notifications didn’t work.
Never worked more than one day. Was not sending push notifications for boundary breaches, wire breaks, or low battery in collar. Had the smart system removed and installed the non smart system.
Simple put
Simply put, it doesn’t work. I’ll skip all the detail but basically everything it’s supposed to do it doesn’t. Worked the first day then done. Tried reinstalling and the same.
Still not working
We had our Smart System installed on 12/15/22. It has never worked once. No notifications EVER, an occasional random email for one dog, but not the other. (By the time you check an email, the dog could be gone.) After almost two months, they concluded they had a bad batch of panels. They came out 3/15/23 with a new panel. Now I cannot even get the app to open! When the tech was here yesterday, he wanted to pare my phone with the new panel, but couldn’t. He just left because the techs have no knowledge of the app. He said to try again in an hour. I have deleted and re-installed the app five times. It just won’t connect. I have no problem with all of my other apps on my phone and we have the strongest, high-speed internet available, with boosters throughout the house and one in the garage by the panel. What’s up Invisible Fence, selling a very expensive product that doesn’t work??? Waiting for a General Manager to call me.

System does not work as advertised
The same issues you read about from two years ago—lags, no reports in real time, dog appears to be in the boundary fence when it’s out of the yard—happen today. There’s simply no excuse. My dog is out and may be dead because of the system failed to registered her as gone on my end and on theirs. She’s been out of the fence and in the wind for probably 12 hours. She still shows on the app as being here.
And this was the third time this happened. They “fixed” it. But it wasn’t fixed.
Don't buy this system. Too many unexplained glitches with the app and system. Again, reqs what people were reporting two years ago. The problems remain—and the system failure can be catastrophic, as it was for us. Your pet is not safe.
I have reported what happened to the company. So sad, angry and worried right now.
