Simple High-yield Savings
Simple and effective. Transfers and external account connections all take 3 days to complete. That’s the only catch to this bank. Thats not at all a problem for a savings account such as this. Strongly recommended
Great online banking.
Very simple to use and do not have any problems!!!
READ THE FINE PRINT!
I have multiple HYSS’s. Bread is the only account that has a $5,000 maximum withdrawal for the 1st 90 days minimum. If you should choose to transfer a larger amount expect to wait (with Bread claiming no responsibility if the wire transfer was to even be lost)! Pay a $25.00 fee for the wire transfer which Bread can simply deny if they so choose to. Their customer service is absolute trash! I’ve used my personal bank, PayPal, & Amex for HYSA’s and they’ve all been great! Personally Amex has been the easiest, with fair rates and the best customer service by a long shot! Bread with no “brick & mortar” stores. With their employees more than likely working from home, reply when it’s convenient for them using the app’s messaging service. Phone calls to them are just about as fun as calling any other poorly operated A.I. phone system. And certainly check the hours! As Bread certainly does not like to have anything like normal business hours for certain transactions or to speak with a representative. Expect to wait a couple days for communication with them. Know that if your thinking about moving money around and this is not a long term HYSA for yourself (100% knowing you will not need to withdrawal or transfer any of your money in under 180 days), their is a large fee for closing your account. As there is a large wire transfer fee. And other fees at their disposal. Their APY is not worth the extra .2% compared to the majority of better organized and ran FDIC approved HYSA’s I have used, and am using. Bread is by all means a let down, which I strongly recommend against with anyone who is using their HYSA and needs or would like their funds to be fluid and accessible. If your looking for something long term as Bread has their HYSA set up, just go for a 6 month (or whichever timeframe works for you) CD that’s going to have a higher payout without ever having to worry about their HYSA APY fluctuations as an HYSA does. With a CD you’re locked in (as you are with Bread unknowingly on my end, or now with the ridiculous fees I’ll be paying to take my money where I’m happy with a regular normal HYSA service again). I wish I could post a screenshot from the Breads Savings app right on here, as it would scare anyone who is currently interested in investing with Bread. I assure you, it is a mistake if you need your money to be fluid or accessible in any aspect. After your 1st deposit also know that you MAY NOT MAKE A TRANSFER OR TAKE A DIME FROM YOUR HYSA FOR THE 1st 30 BUSINESS days from that deposit. Heed my warning & go elsewhere I assure you I wish I had not trusted Bread Savings. And stayed where I was already quite content & was foolish enough to go for the very slightly higher APY which in the end will only have costed me time, patience, and a loss.
