I am liking it, for the most part

Ok, I’m giving this a solid try, mostly for having a calendar and notes in one app. Thank you for having a dark mode!

Jason, I’m sure you will correct me if I’m wrong, but when you are in the calendar, aren’t the left and right arrows supposed to move back and forth between the months. It would also be great to have a long press action to change month and year.

It would also be cool if it could realize that I’m landing and leaving from a city, to indicate that I’m away during the duration of the trip.

Ok, I’m changing this rating from 4 to 5 stars because you made the app!

Removing friction

This app removes the friction of capturing information and making it into action. It has quickly become a key tool for me.

I didn’t realize I needed this app

Clean interface. Intuitive to use. Appreciate the appearance/color options and ability to hide the calendar. Grateful that iCloud sync is baked in. Decently buggy on my iPad, but it’s a brand new app. Solid on my iPhone. Even available on AVP, which I appreciate!!! ❤️🩵💛 I love the easy pdf export on the Mac, the ability to have a note take up the full window and get rid of all the other visual noise, and the ability to customize font size. A one week free trail of the pro capabilities might be useful, but $5/mo is pretty reasonable, so I’ll give it a go for a month and if I like it, I’ll do the annual subscription.

Meeting Notes

I really like this. It’s simple, uncluttered. 2 things I think would convince me to spring for the pro plan. 1. A lot of my tasks throughout the day are trigged by emails. It would be nice to incorporate emails somehow for reference.
2. I’m in a ton of meetings, but they’re all on Zoom. This doesn’t integrate with audio properly to transcribe those correctly.

I’m using Notion but it’s overkill. I’d love to use this.

Pretty good app

Nice app for simple note taking. Fast and easy to use. Love the link to calendar idea. Would like to see some kind of import notes feature and ability to add images or screenshots.

Response from developer

Thanks for using Contextly. You can import notes on the Mac using File > Import Notes. It'll explain exactly how to do just that. You can also add attachments on the Mac, and working on it for the iPhone/iPad.

Love the simplicity!

I am in meetings for about 50% of job, so the ability to take notes associated directly with my calendar entry is huge. One suggestion, is to have RTF tools available for those who don’t know Markdown. I know it, but it’s not like muscle memory to me, so having another option for formatting would be nice.

Response from developer

Thanks for using Contextly! So the app does have rich text formatting options in addition to Markdown. Both the Mac and iPhone have the option if you select the formatting button (Aa).

The best notes app ever!

I was testing out this app early and it was good then but now it’s amazing. The developer of this app is amazing! Best Vibe Coded app ever! I love how the AI runs on device using Apple Intelligence. Thank you so much Jason for making this app!

Great New Take on Notes

I’ve been using on Mac and the iPhone app is great too! Attaching notes to events is useful and the Apple Intelligence features are a nice touch.

Apple Pencil

The UI is very nice and makes it super easy to navigate. The one reason i think people keep going back to apple notes is the Apple Pencil functionality

Response from developer

Thanks for trying Contextly. That's a great point, and it's definitely something I'm working on--hopefully soon!
