Great App- easy to use!

Love this easy to use app. The app uses ultra sonic sound to communicate to the hearing aids so Bluetooth is not required to make adjustments to programs, volume and noise filters. Love the simplicity yet functionality of this app!

Ok, but ….

… super annoying log-in process. The app randomly chooses when to sign you out and then you have to go through 2FA and flip to their website to log back in. Ridiculous: if someone steals my phone, I don’t think lowering the volume on my eargo’s is going to be anywhere on their list of to do’s. Plus - usually I’m going I. To the app when I intend to make a change, so having to log in as I’m sitting down into a restaurant is less than ideal. Just give me Face ID log in, please.

Other than that, app does what it’s designed to do. It would be nice if I could see current levels, but I understand why I can’t.

Eargo 8 review

I used Eargo 7’s for two years, and now use the newer (and MUCH BETTER) Eargo 8’s. The 8s stay better in my ears, and sound better.. The app is a work in progress, but is far superior to earlier versions. Technical note: these aids do not use ‘Bluetooth’ to communicate with your phone, they use AUDIO signals (that a human ear cannot hear). This is necessary because the aids are COMPLETELY in your ear, where Bluetooth signals can’t reach. This technology works fine, AS LONG AS YOU SET YOUR PHONE VOLUME TO ABOUT 40% or better. I’m sure this is why some people have trouble setting them up, or updating them.
I’m very happy with their performance, and highly recommend them, if you want truly invisible hearing aids.

This app has problems

I’ll probably end up returning the Eargo 8 because of how badly this app functions. It is very glitchy… if it works at all. You also never know what your current settings are for volume, treble and bass in the program settings.

Love this app

I’m a new hearing aid user but I tried a bunch of different types and brands. I find the Eargo are the best for me and the app is the easiest to use. The videos are excellent too. I just wish it could be on the iwatch for changing the modes. Future release maybe?

TERRIBLE APP

Usually takes the app many many attempts to connect to device. Even after you connect, the app does not highlight what setting you’re on so it’s guest work every single time

Eargo for 3 years

Have worked 10% of time worn! Had to buy 2 more hearing aids since started at $3500 + $500/piece x 2!! $4500 and counting!

Needs dark mode

The app works well with my Eargo 8. It’s clever how the app uses the speaker to change parameters on the earbuds. I just wish there was a dark mode, as the regular light mode is very bright and disruptive in a movie theater.

Eargo 8 User

I have owned and used the Eargo 7’s and have since graduated to the 8’s . And I couldn’t be happier these Eargos have literally changed my life, and no body knows! The app is fine don’t listen to the naysayers.

it cannot even properly connect - unuseable

It is poorly written, buggy, and reliable. Their support is very bad, but this app is. even worse.

Works great. With my Eargo 8s

Seamless transition between my Eargo 7s to my new Eargo 8s.

Just one more addition

The iPad/ iPhone app works ok but it would be very helpful to extend it to the Apple Watch. When I can’t pull out the phone it would be great to adjust volume and environment on the watch.

Needs more details

There are no tone controls, no indication what differences between 4 standard mores. No numeric value for volume, very little control of customization, this is the worst of 3 previous brands I’ve used.

Inconsistent Terrible

This app stops working often. You must delete the app and reinstall.
The devices need frequent updating or re-syncing. More often than not, one or the other is not charged. These devices are a constant source of frustration and disappointment. Not nearly worth the effort required to use them.
Often when the app requires updating they cannot work properly until you do.

Drains iPhone Battery quickly

The Eargo 7s are good but the app is terrible. Even with background activity turned off in settings the app still drains the battery using background activity! You have to remember to close the app completely after every use. The app has potential to be really good if the developers can fix this big issue. Seems like it should be a simple code fix.

Bad app and hearing aids

I have had trouble with the left hearing aid charging and the app keeps freezing up.Would not recommend hearing aids or app

Easy Going

Surprised at the negative reviews. I find the app straightforward and easy to use. Been wearing the Eargo 7 for about 2 weeks now and find that they are meeting expectations. Also Eargo has been sending helpful emails with video links.

Eargo 7

The Eargo 7 is inferior to past models.
I’ve used Eargo products for several years, Eargo 7 is clearly inferior to past Eargo products, I’d rather have had an older model and paid less.

Totally Understand The Bad Rating: Should Be Worse

It’s obvious the owners of this company do zero updates or bug fixes on the app. Someone spends $2800 on their hearing aids, all excited, and go to turn the volume up using the app but every button FREEZES. Literally useless app

Devices good, software terrible

I really wanted to like these, but after 8 months of ownership the hearing aids have been broken for longer than they have worked. It’s all failures of the app and ability to update and configure. As these are my first hearing aids I don’t know if I am harder on them than most people or maybe my earwax is corrosive like alien blood. But I’m on my third pair in 8 months and each time they fail to connect fail to register and fail to update. I usually wait 1-2 weeks for replacements, another 1-2 weeks to get them to reconnect to the app, then a month or so of usage and then another failure. Too exhausting and time consuming for me. Hire better developers, there are thousands looking for work right now and they are better than whoever is developing your app updates now. I’m going to try and get my money back
